I'm having the same issue with wax and shatter sitting at the top of the coil. I am firing at 7.34v, herc is at 2.3 ohm, and I got a red rod before loading the concentrates. And my rod is in the correct spot in the tongs. But I don't understand "remove the middle black PTFE shield, and re-position the rod, gently screw it in and when you feel resistance stop, put the stainless top cap and the mouth piece on top, try it now and see if this fixes your issue."

I don't have a black ptfe shield. Are you referring to the ptfe shield at the bottom of the centerpost? And leave it off, putting everything back together, and firing it up?

And when you say "reposition the rod", do you mean in the tongs? sorry all just went over my head.

if herc is 2.3 ohms then its good. the black ptfe shield is the outer black center tube that connects to the bottom adapter and to the mouth piece.

do you have the 71 or the 74x?

ok, I thought the outer black heat shield was made of delrin. So basically, just screw the lower chamber and upper chamber together and stop when I feel resistance, as opposed to screwing it all the way down? I'll give that a try - its a SR74x.

Have you tried the dual coil at 7.4 volts?, That may cause it not to work properly, as you said everything was ran at 3.7 volts, hope you blow some clouds soon:whoa:

but 2.3 ohms is good for the hercules give or take .1 ohms which is in tolerance levels.

but what your saying is that its not melting the wax in the coil? how long have you tried to heat it up with the button to have it melt in their?

Nope. I assumed all of the cartridges were 3.7v since the donut was labelled with that. My battery showed that it had a coil screwed in with resistance at first, but it just stopped registering like 8 hours after I opened it.

Before it stopped working completely it would die and then come back for a little bit after I unscrewed it and screwed it back in. I thought that maybe something was wrong with my battery, but this doesn't happen with anything else. This didn't happen with the single coil though. The single coil straight up died mid hit.

I have never tried to fire the coils past 3.7v
this is from the Description on W9: "To take full advantage of its power it requires you to pulse the button at 7.4v while it does work at 3.7v it is specifically made for our Persei and 8 vaporizers line."
Maybe this is the cause of the Dual Coil not working? Have you tried to run it at 7.4 Volts? Are you Using a Persei? or 8? maybe just not enough power out of what your using? Hope you can get it to work/ fire at 7.4 V
I've just ordered a Kiss AC for my Persie and 8, and can't wait to receive it along with all the other goodies that I ordered. I'm excited to try it out for the first time! Hopefully I'll have better results than your experiencing. I'll be sure to post up my first thoughts when I do get it, I'm hoping by Saturday:peace::rockon:

The dual coil will not fire at all... I think there must be in an incomplete contact or something somewhere in the coil. I examined it closely and I can't see anything, however, it reads as having 0 resistance, which means there is a break somewhere...

I also hope you have a better experience with this than I have... Thanks for the reply

Sounds like you have an e-cig mod, is it capable of doing 7.4 volts?, (two 18650 batteries or one?)

I have burnt out many a coil:myday:. Did you get a funny burnt taste on the last pull of of your single coil? If not its probably not burnt out just possibly a loose connection somewhere.

Heres what I do if it stops workin, get a wooden skewer and take the blunt end and VERY lightly move the coil to one side slightly, remove skewer from proximity and try to fire it, no go?, try pushing it the other way.

This is the best way I found to get vapin again quick without disassembly , emptying out freshly loaded concentrate or metering it.

Yeah, my mod can do more 7.4v... I don't think the coils are burnt out as I never got them even close to red hot and I never tasted anything burnt. I took a drag from the AC, and when I went to take one a few seconds later there was just nothing and mod showed that there was no atomizer...

I was a little hesitant to poke and prod the coils in fear of damaging them, but since they are already broken I'll try that.

Thanks!

I cant emphasize poking LIGHTLY enough as I dont think the coils are broken, thats how I start anyway. I start very very light and then I poke increasingly hard until the coil is totally destroyed (not recommended) , at least then I know its not gonna work for sure and rebuild it

What unit you are running the kiss cart on? And how are you testing it? With a meter or on the unit?

Are you using a thread converter, or is it a 510 mod style AC? I found my adapters were often the source of my woes; they leak and can be maladjusted, causing a boatload of issues.

If it's designed for the mod, and you aren't using a connector, try this method of installation:
Take your skillet out of the AC, and keep the AC top off. Screw the base of the AC onto your mod. NOW screw your skillet in. I feel like my AC's center pin was a mm or 2 short, and forcing the pin into the base a little helped with my connection issues.

@THC SCIENTIFIC I was running it on an evic-VT. Originally I was testing it with the unit, but I just tested it with my multimeter and got the same result.

@ragnorokk I am using the mod version AC on a mod, so there aren't any adapters or anything betweeen.

I recently picked up the Joyetech eVic VT mod myself. I ordered a 510 mod Kiss Globe and a 601 to 510 adaptor. I'll start trying various W9 carts on it and report back my findings. I'm interested to see if the temp control works well with the W9 carts.

I'm looking forward to hearing about it, I'd love to try it out depending on the price. I've been looking into temp control a lot recently just for fun, but I'm a little put off by some of the community so far. A lot of them are nice and helpful, but too many are openly snobby about temp control and dismissive of everything else. Like pc master race guys in gaming forums. I'm hoping people talk about it here, but I wonder if temp control using uptech gear belongs in another thread.

Hopefully soon enough, w9 will release their tC, and this will be the right thread again!

I also got a couple carts for my vaporshark rdna40 in my next order, we shall see how temperature sensing works on the titanium instead of the recommended nickel, I heard someone say it works great but thats just hearsay for now, cannot wait to put in for a little :science:

for Ti the variables are much more then nickel, not gonna go into it but TC from us isnt going to be cost effective if you consider the $60 models they have on ebay now.

Think of it this way, our overhead is to large to have a cost effective TC model but it will come just not the price range everyone is thinking of, but it will include support like no other and even better parts then anything out there.

Everything we do costs money, R&D is not about hey lets take silica and put ceramic in there, its hey lets take silica and put ceramic wick that absorbs more oil, and lets engineer it so that it stays within temperature range for the next 45 second button press. This takes time and money, money that we get a loan for to pay for development, then have a price that will help keep us in business and repay the loans.

So waiting for TC from us is good waiting for a TC that will compete with these ecigs, i suggest you sell your W9 gear and go support the rebranders.
