Hey @Jared! Looking beautiful as always!

Do you still make BHO or are you Rosin only now?

I think I'm going to be making the switch to Rosin soon. I would go buy a straightener, but I'll probably just wait for the d-nail press instead so I have something nice that I don't have to rig up on my own. Time is something I don't have a lot of anymore, unfortunately, so purchasing a ready to go Rosin press sounds perfect for me.

BHO just seems like too much work now after seeing how easy rosin is :D and no 5 day purge necessary. Sounds like heaven to me :haw:

I still buy BHO from processors I know are good but I haven't actually made myself any since I found out about rosin other than some I blasted from rosin chips haha. I just squish a nugg or two if I'm wanting to try a strain I have.
Thanks boss! I think I'll be heading that route soon enough as well.

Did you get anything from blasting the rosin chips?

Just wondering if the chips are worth keeping to blast. I would probably just decarb the wax (forget the slow low heat purge) and make some tasty edibles. But if the yield is <5% then idk if it would be worth it for me (unless I had a pound of chips haha).

Here was the post I made on it. Actually got a pretty decent yield but I also didn't have my smashing technique down at the time I don't think haha.

D-Nail press available for pre-order. $335

http://beta.d-nail.com/frontpage/d-nail-heat-press

Edit: This is really tempting especially considering the price may skyrocket after this beta/pre-order special price is over with. D-Nail isn't really known for their affordability...
I'm getting one of these too :D Probably the larger one but I'm gonna speak with the guy who made them and find out which will be best for my needs!

P.s. all of you ordering a press should get an SiC dish while you're at it, if you wanna extract that tasty rosin, you sure as hell wanna dab on the tastiest nail surface out there lol

Small or large press?
Dammit dNail, Why couldn't you have made just one? lol
Decisions, decisions.
Haha right? Sometimes having choices is great but sometimes it sucks too.

Maybe @herbivore21 can help.

Does anyone know how many grams of bud can fit on the small 5"x5" press? What about the large 15"x15" press?

I may get the small one for now to see how I like it and then if it is too small I will get the large one when the new version is released.

I'll hold off on ordering until someone can give some insight on how much bud can be pressed on the two sizes.

I would guess that you could potentially press an 8th of nugs on the small press, I think a zip in one press might be possible on the larger one! :D

The only thing I wanna find out is whether there is less pressure from the hand pressing mechanism on the larger plates or whether they've found a way to account for the extra force needed. Otherwise the small press may get higher pressure and therefore allow less heat :)

Perfect thank you! I'm going to go with the small press. Going to order it right now :)

I can't wait to say "Hey, you want a dab? It's fresh off the press". Haha

Yup but shipping to where I live takes an eternity and it won't ship til same time as teh Beta ones I believe!

Look forward to watching you learn to squoosh rosin on FC lol
My ignorance assumes everyone lives in the United States

I will share as much as possible as soon as it comes in! After it arrives, I will devote a full weekend to playing with it

I can't believe this thing is only $335 with free shipping. Seems like a steal compared to a $2,200 AI vac oven

I want one but it doesn't make sense to me since I use such small amounts. Might go halfsies with someone I know just so I can press 2g per press or so. My guess of the sweet spot for the small press
I think that's a pretty good guess bro, I would not be surprised to learn that you are right on this one ;)

I think the biggest benefit of this press is gonna come from the low temp-high pressure capabilities that we don't get so easily with our up until now jerry-rigged efforts. I look forward to finding out!

I am struggling to work out who is looking forward to seeing the results of this weekend more, me or you! lol :D

I think my excitement might be hard to beat! I only say that because I should have some home grown Skunk #1, Super Skunk, and White Diesel Haze to press right when I get the unit

Oh that raises a question that I think has been mentioned a while ago, but not in depth.

Can you press fresh material? or does it need to be dried/cured?

The consensus was that it doesn't work well with fresh material… Is that still true?

Depends on how moist the material is, I would give it a shot and see how you go with it with each different plant. Remember you can always use your vac (carefully, water boils a lot closer to decarb temps than other solvents) to get enough of the excess moisture out to make it not spatter.

Drop me a line if you need a hand with any of this my friend :)

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Too much moisture probably won't work well just like how it doesn't with butane (I'm sure for different reasons, but same concept, too much moisture is bad when trying to remove resin from the material).

Great idea about the vac! I will definitely be playing around with some fresh popcorn material.

Thanks for the offer! I will definitely be asking for your assistance once I get the unit in :D
