bio, I have not shipped yours yet. I was going to finish it today but will put it on hold for the rock. It will be a few extra days because I need to pour more cups. Before that happens I have to get over to Spokane to get the mold and the tutorial.
Rumble, let me know via Email about your request. I want more than my memory of FC happenings for this change to be sure I get it right(names to orders)
Same for anyone else, send me an Email with order number if you want the concrete upgrade.
Bio, yer good as far as who is who.

Good decision to do away with brass unit production altogether. i cant see anyone choosing them over the new SSS, esp with another even better option on the near horizon... unless the person has a severe brass fetish or likes their log to double as a maraca.

Like i said, if you can offer some SSSrock zaps in amboyna burl or ebony, i'll buy one up ASAP. or some really dark blackwood.. i can imagine how totally wicked one would look with a red LED... would be the perfect counterpart to my light cherry + green LED zap :D like they should be doin a lightsaber duel or something

I foresee this being one of main advantages of the rockzap is that now all zaps will VERY similar consistencies when it comes to temperature, heatup regulations, and heat retention regardless of what wood is used as the exterior. A red LED might look pretty good if it was dim; . . a sunset orange.

Hmm, it seems like my walnut SSS without the concrete sleeve will be a collectors item some day, among the few no-rock SSS zaps out there. I can't imagine ordering one without it if the option is there. Hell, if I was ordering today instead of 2 weeks ago, I would surely elect for that option. Oh well.

Can't wait to hit my zap tonight. I'm thinking of calling it Slugger. Of course I never name a new toy without trying it first ;)

I'm slightly confused. Is there an actual rock inside the concrete cup or is 'rock' just a nickname for the concrete?

I am heating my new walnut up now.

As I am waiting, I have been looking at my e-cig stuff and how I could use my zap for e cig juice vaping. I took one of the tooty tips and stuffed some polyfill in it. It fits about as nicely as any ecig cartridge I have used. As long as the juice does not drip down into the port, I don't see why this shouldn't work. My JWH 210 E juice vapes nicely with low resistance atomizers and the polyfil doesn't burn, and I am pretty sure that it will work okay with the zap. Time will tell.

E Cig users here, any opinions?

EDIT: After a couple of pulls, I am intrigued. I have been hitting the T Rex earlierr, but after 3 tooty pulls I am loving the potential so far. I am vaping Vanilla Butternut flavored juice. The taste is very clean despite the polyfill. There is visible liquid residue inside the tooty so I am getting vapor, although I only just got the tinyest cloud on my last hit. Oh, I am feeling the JWH in a big way too. For those of us facing potential piss tests for work, its good to know we can be part of Zapland as well.

I have taken a piece of pure cotton from a cotton ball that I used to clean some glassware with alcohol and stuffed it into my Toasty Tube tip. The heat is not high enough to harm the cotton fiber, but it will vaporize any oil on the fiber. Air flows through the cotton very easily.
I'm not familiar with ecig juice, but the cotton may hold it as well.

Alan,
...what's this? The most beautiful Aromazap, now with stainless steel? Oh yes, I will be definitely be getting one of these. :D Keep up the great work Rick!

I too hear that cotton works the best. Have you tried any other oils stinkbud? Glass might help turn the unit upside down to stop and drainage.

Just the juice that I have been vaping in my e cig. Any solvent that can ve vaped in an e cig should be as good as oil. It is greasy like oil. I sell it so I have plenty around to work with. My wife will be enjoying it with mj, hopefully I can occasionally enjoy it with mj, but until I finally find the job I want...I would rather know I can piss clean at any given moment.

I have been perfecting the technique of loading the stems with polyfil and getting a few good rips per couple drops of juice. I will be trying cotton next.

Holy Sheeeet TV! You are just loaded with neat ideas! The irony of that one is the Eterra, which inspired Aromazap was originally made to vaporize tobacco if I am correct in my often incorrect memory.
Speaking of such things, I realized today I am coming full circle on Zaps. Ten years ago to the month I was working every day and every night making more and more Aromazaps to take to Seattle Hempfest. They were mostly "Blue Pine", blued Ponderosa Pine off our place, cut on our mill. All square of course. I took 150 of them because I knew I had something very cool that worked. Big money for us and big time spent.
We did the top dog thing and got a room at the Edgewater, $200/night for two nights. Zaplady had just been 'fired' because she tried to please too many people at an old folks home. She did not know how to kiss the right ass. Anyway, we sold ZERO Aromazaps at Hempfest '01. Nobody even heard of vapor. Talk about a test. Then a $50 website. Always had been on the OG forums(sweetnugs). Then Paypal. I bring this up because I have not worked this long and hard since then. And I feel the same. Totally jived and alive. Only this time a very different story.

I second the sunset orange led.. That would be purtty. My zap got here on Friday but I've been on vacation and have not been able to see it yet :/ I'll be home tomorrow to test her out, post some pictures and possibly compare the old brass version to the new one- although I don't own a brass, I've used one plenty and could make an accurate comparison.

As for the new concrete version, I really like where this is heading Rick. Keep it up as I and many others im sure are looking forward to purchasing the even newer design. I'll be keeping a close eye on zapville even as I enjoy my new SSS.

I have used my Zap to vape oils. If I have them I use dental cotton pellets if I dont I use Pharmacy cotton (pure cotton fiber only!)
after a couple pulls pull at the cotton a bit and re-ball it up and get a last hit.

You got it... Solid as a rock!

So there is a rock inside it, then?

Wait... let's go back and do a replay....

I was agreeing... rock is just a nickname for the concrete.....
then I added the reason why... because concrete is Solid as a rock!

I see I need to step in here. SirElton, the SSS heatport is encased in a sleeve of concrete.

I'm heading north today, so I will post those promised pics later today. I will make sure to include a shot of the top so that you can see the cement and heatport configuration. Al lbundy, yes, at this time you can see the cement. That is part of the tweaking that Rick needs to do to get these into production.
