Discontinued The Grasshopper

Just gotta have faith in GHL! :peace:

Thanks to all the backers for helping to fund this and get the kinks out!

Still early in the game in all aspects, not just production... I hope people keep seeing the positivity in the growth of this trial and error.

Can't wait to have a one hitter :) I wonder if I will be able to medicate for real when I get mine... But due to my lack of will power and self control I'll probably be buzzing all day.
It's hard to find my medicinal sweet spot without any herbal info. Hoping this helps me tune into those low dose mood uplifting vibes without body or mind lag. Because I could really use something to keep me sane during the day.

Now I'll go dream about a legal cbd strain for all 50 states... Because there is no excuse for there not being one! Quit pretending New England! One of these states needs to legalize soon!

I just asked this on the shipping thread, but this is a better place to ask...

Does anyone have the ss gh and pax 2? If so, how do you compare mouthpiece temperature of the 2 (using the flat mouthpiece on the pax 2 and no mouthpiece on the gh)?

Yet @slcbdco has stated multiple times that he only uses the tiniest of pinches, and I don't think he's mentioned having a similar result.

I do use it that way, still do for the most part and it works great. You can use crazy small amounts. That said it shouldn't require technique. If there is any combustion at all it's a sign of a defective unit.

Speaking of, my serial # is 961 and it does have the newest version of both screens. I've been on vacation for a week using it heavily with friends, have barely cleaned it except for a dry q-tip once in awhile and I cleaned the tip once.

My general experience a few weeks in is that this is by FAR the best vape I've personally experienced even if it wasn't have the price of them!

I also gotta say that I think Oregon has better quality cannabis than Colorado .... perhaps it's just the humidity and I love my native dry dope but this dank Oregon bud tastes TRES SEIS! in a GH!

My friends here have all been impressed by it as well. When we're hanging at the beach house this is a spliff/bowl/joint kinda crowd but we've been taking the GH and a Pax2 out and about. The GH is a big hit, especially when you put in a little pinch crank it to 4 or 5 go outside of the resturant or bar and take a BIG HIT and go back inside in under a minute!

I .... HIGHLY recommend it!

@Mr. Me2 The GH mouthpiece gets hotter than pax2 but you use them differently. On this trip, so far everyone has used both and NO ONE has used the mouthpiece because EVERYONE has instinctively just packed it small taken 2 or 3 big rips and put it away while people instinctively will puff on the pax for awhile, two reasons a. The GH gets you RUHLHIGH RUHLHIGH FAST and pax takes awhile and b. it's clearly how each device is designed to be used. If you have a pax2 a GH is a great companion vape and vice versa but if I only could chose one, it would be the GH!

So your GH has a chamber screen like what's in the mouthpiece? If so can you possibly take a pic and/or explain if that chamber screen is removable? Of not do you think debris will get trapped between the two chamber screens of you have that in your model....? My GH does not have the new or additional chamber screen but I thought it would be a good idea to have two, as long as it's removable and/or you can clean it thouroughlt....

Am I missing something? Where has the idea that there are now two chamber screens come from?

They are still making minor changes to the design, and assembly of this device..

New heating chamber: https://instagram.com/p/5SDHs9HxOJ/
Old heating chamber: https://radvapereviews.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/grasshopper-1267.jpg (@Just Justin)

Admittedly a "v 0.9" but Im fairly sure we have seen models that dont have the hex screen on both the chamber and mouthpiece that were delivered after the fix for the temp sensor threw codes for several recipients.

Am I missing something? Where has the idea that there are now two chamber screens come from?
Check out dualxdank photo. There is a hex type screen in the chamber similar to the mouthpiece screen, that sits in the chamber above the heater screen (which you can see in my review of the GH). That makes two screens in the chamber and is supposedly the new design.....

Here is that video of my friend I have been promising I still can't get youtube to trim down that last section where the camera falls over but hey here you go. I had trouble with my camera restarting alot too.

I appreciate this vid for several reasons: an individual with no experience makes effective use of the GH; the other commenting individual uses unobtrusive guidance to move the demonstration along; heat up time is phenomenal; water tool gets milked FAST; GH works as advertised, and then some. Thanks for the review!!!

Although I am concerned about how repairable these vapes will be - sounds like they are complicated instruments which an owner shouldn't attempt to repair themselves.

Then again, in this case at least, it sounds like a simple swap of a new backend. Even I could handle that. Time will tell.

Thank you! I thought that would be a great test of ease of use and functionality. I didn't want to just tell him what to do either thought it would be best to just see how it played out!

I too am very interested about this removable screen {to be or not to be} I really was hoping that we would always have access to the other side of the screen in the mouthpiece....
My interest is in reclaiming the oils that condense along the inside of the mouthpiece itself..... will I be able to scrape this area there by reclaiming the yummy goodness or will it have to be washed or cleaned with some sort of solvent.... also I'm expecting the tip of the mouthpiece to begin to clog over time.... have any of the GH holders either experienced this already or are seeing traces and just wiping their lips off.... if so its time to reclaim {or clean up}..... Which do you do..?

I really like hearing about this..... such a simple approach.... just send them out a new back end... no wires no fuss no muss.... a thing of beauty..... it sounds to me like supporting these things is going to be fairly cut and dry.... I do like the way that sounds..... awesome....:peace:
I'm curious as to how loading such a small amount works so well in such a large chamber, seems back asswards. Almost like you'd be inhaling a bunch of hot air.
I don't own one myself but I have been admiring the design from afar..... if the hot air {heat} were to just simply gently pass up through the herb.... but if the air is swirling and twisting creating turbulence within the actual chamber then a smaller pinch would likely get a near perfect and complete extraction....... IMO which is only theoretical to be clear....:peace:

We tried to vape an underdog nylon stem sized load in my buddies grass hopper and it didnt really work to well. Got some vapor, just not nearly as dense as it was when packing a load of around .075 to 0.125. Sadly he is leaving tonight so I wont get to experiment anymore with the GH.

I think you just gave it - vid says it all! Thanks again!!!
Haha I know I can make better videos it's just the editing I got to get the knack of. My friend in that video is a good video editor and he is going to help. Plus my good mic audio and not built in audio. I think the full review will be really good. Plus I'm hoping to be able to cover everything in one video. I will have the hopper air comparison up first that will give you a preview of what we can do together haha.

I personally think that you have already proven that short and simple is best. Your vid has provided me all I need to know about the GH, and to feel satisfied with my advance purchase. All the rest that'll come my way I feel is just going to be noise, just like all the noise prior.

Yes, I would definitely like to find about this screen deal.........but I have seen what lies on the other side of the mouthpiece screen by unscrewing the screen piece but it is tricky to do without the proper tool that GHL uses. There have been previous photos of all the pieces inside the mouthpiece but they are scattered throughout the thread and the previous GH thread. I can tell you that the main piece is the screen that has 3 "tabs" that are bent into place to hold it tightly to a threaded piece of metal that is connected to a cone that is made from a heat resistant material. There is another cone that sits on top of the screen/cone piece ( vapor goes from chamber to screen to first cone to second metal cone to mouthpiece exit hole). These cones look like they serve as a type of heat shields that insulates the very tip of the mouthpiece. The second cone looks like it is made out of copper, at least it's copper in color. I think you can reclaim collected residue inside these cones but they are very tiny and without the tool, it may not be worth it, although it is possible.

First Photo: first cone inside mouthpiece. The screen connects to the wide part of this cone and the outer edge of the cone is threaded which holds it in the mouthpiece

Second Photo: The actual mouthpiece screen with tabs that hold it into the first cone

Third Photo: The second and final cone inside the mputhpiece. Looks like copper to me but I'm not sure. This cone is in direct contact with the inside of the mouthpiece tip. Its a cone sandwich and I think they designed it like this to help reduce the transfer of heat to the outside of the mouthpiece tip where you inhale from. Hope this helps answer your question

The trichome oils absorb much of the heat so the cannabinoids can change into a vapor state. Similar to how a pot of boiling water doesn't exceed 212 degrees even when heated by a source much hotter then 212.
