Neighbor's dog drops hot turds on my lawn

Years ago our home was the only one within a 1/4 of a mile. Back in the day we would allow our dog to walk over into the vacant field across our street to do his business. He never wanted to use his own yard, smart dog. He would come right back home, we live on a couple acres and he had plenty of room to roam in our yard.

Well long story short as my dog got older more folks moved into our neighborhood. We did live more in a country area but it changed. So we had to build a fence because our dog continued to poop across the street. Traffic became an issue and we wanted to keep our pet safe. So many people that don't take care of their animals. The same people that don't take very good care of their children.

Does the original poster plan to return to this thread that he started and give us some additional feedback, perhaps an update on the situation and on how it has or has not been resolved? Many here have cared enough to take the time and effort to post relevant input. I hope this isn't just another FC thread "Dump & Run"!

either way, I took a few pointers from this thread, so it was not all wasted efforts

Motion detecting sprinklers are now top on my shopping list, however I am a bit concerned I might piss off a few pedestrian neighbors as they walk by...

Oh~ and I quickly came to the realization I can't have monition activated or remote control sprinklers without a security cam to capture the hilarity!!

I wonder if there is something you can spray on your lawn that would repel the dog, just as theres an indoors spray such a 'bitter apple' which is supposed to keep dogs from peeing inside. or perhaps when you do catch the dog doing its business, scaring it may help. i know i have a dog in my avatar but i am far from an expert, just a couple suggestions off the top of my head.

back when i had similar issues i would shovel it off my grass and put it just beyond the curb in the road where the owners would be walking, didnt take too long before it stopped, pretty sure other neighbors were pissed at me for doing this but to hell with it, i always pick up when i walk so i see no excuse. once this kid was walking his dogasaurus and he had the worst diarrhea i ever seen my whole life, there was so much i was almost proud to watch as im sure it was a world record. anyhow, kid worked at it for about 5 minutes with a plastic bag kept looking up at me and i finally brought out a hose to finish it off for him doing my best ian malcolm "thats was one big pile of shit", gave him the giggles...me too later.
