just watched dont be a menace in south central while drinking juice and the others. two different types of movies but when vaked and couch potatoed are great. Nothing like a comedy followed by a thriller mind fuck movie

Watched "Predestination" last night.

Based on a Robert Heinlein story. Which is the only writer I could think of who COULD have come up with that....

It was weird. Worth the watch.

Have been and am still 'watching' (/having it on in the background with occasional actual viewing of the good bits ;) ) one of my favourite spaghetti westerns at this very moment.
Per qualche dollaro in più( or For a few dollars more) from 1965:

i've still got about half an hour to go to the great endscene(the one with the musical watches).
Starring Clint Eastwood, Lee van Cleef and Klaus Kinsky for starters and scored by Ennio Morricone, gotta love it still.

^ speaking of that genre, "once upon a time in the west (1969)"...one of my favorite westerns.

"I am Nobody" with Terence Hill. The penultimate spaghetti western.

Has anyone seen Snowpeircer? Great apocalyptic sci-fi film from South Korea. It's a good one.

Very much enjoyed Snowpiercer....not the ending (and even that I did like....most of it) so much as the journey and the themes it presented and depicted. I love the running of the torch scene

Oh, and I'm watching Gladiator...2 Thumbs....

Kidding, great movie.

Also high on my list indeed :
"Haha...looks like we're...looks like we're shy one horse."
:disgust:
"You brought two too many..."
:cool::D
In general i love most spaghetti westerns, Terrence Hill made some nice ones with Bud Spencer as well.
But My name is Nobody has Peter Fonda of course.
And there is of course the classic comedy/western combo :
"I'd say you'd had enough...!"

Love the recommendations on here, agree with some, not all. For example, I thought Snowpiercer was utter drivel :nope:but Iron Sky was a total blast :brow: The jury's still out on The Fall :hmm:

On Netflix I enjoyed:
(Comedy)
Russell Brand: Messiah Complex
-I thought it was awesome.

Had me cracking up! Philomena was a good watch lately the Brits have been putting out good flicks. The new Mad Maxx remake is very good, better then the original imo. Tom Hardy was also very good in The Drop.

I've found a few good foreign movies on Netflix: Generation War, Headhunters, Colosio, El Infierno, Elite Squad, In the Land of Blood and Honey (very rare for a movie to affect me emotionally as this did). Filth is up on Netflix and a good watch

Although it wasn't very recently, i came across an old favourite whilst channelsurfing, so i just had to stay on that channel and watch it till the end :
Long single takes, you don't see that anymore.
From IMDb(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040746/trivia?ref_=tt_ql_2) :

"Since the filming times were so long, everybody on the set tried their best to avoid any mistakes. At one point in the movie, the camera dolly ran over and broke a cameraman's foot, but to keep filming, he was gagged and dragged off. Another time, a woman puts her glass down but misses the table. A stagehand had to rush up and catch it before the glass hit the ground. Both parts are used in the final cut."

Different times indeed.

whos afraid of virginia woolf (1966)

its old school acting, no fluff...richard burton and elizabeth taylor take turns owning this as they battle it out while holding a young couple hostage to their regrets of life decisions and circumstances long past.

^^ One of my all-time favorites. The acting was beyond phenomenal.

I agree: Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf is an acting marvel. Back in the day, before Married with Children justified and glorified bad married behaviour, movie goers got an eye and ear full of less-than-perfect partners partying it up. The kitchen shot - one long take - brightly lit - chomping chicken and chatting, is a marvel to watch. My DVD copy had a lighting director over-narrate the movie, and it was facinating to get a little clue in all the magic creation.

Who doesn't play "Get the Guests"?

Fav part - They take off on a field trip. When they get off the bus getting to the destination Jack Nicholson, (Mr. McMurphy) all introduced them as being doctors. They were all crazies from the state mental hospital. This clip shows them on the fishing trip that Jack takes them on.

The Shawshank Redemption. My bums numb by the time its over (nothin compared to Andy's), but awesome movie and story.
Love Shawshank....

Just watched Boondock Saints for the 100th time...

Epic film, which I believe never was in the Theater..
If I recall correctly, it was a " Blockbuster Exclusive " film that took off like a rocket.

The acting, action, cinematography... 5stars for sure.

Just caught Office Space recently too..
This film was a flop in the Theater, but created a HUGE following nevertheless.

My favorite seen

Edit; Just saw this again a few weeks ago...

Matt's best work by a long shot:)

May haps his Lincoln Commercials...lol
