Hey guys, I've got a interesting new vaporizer for you! Reminds me on the Davinci Ascent.

The Box Vaporizer by Ivaped claims to have a all glass airpath and heating chamber, next to the glass mouthpiece.
Temperature range: 320℉ - 446℉

no information about the actual size, though.

I already did and it's on the way now. Will be here next week, I guess
I'm very curious about the glass heater myself, actually I never seen one in a portable vaporizer before.

The design and use of quartz make it seem very similar to the MiVape. Do we know if it's conduction or convection?

would love to have a close look inside the herb chamber. overall it looks a little bit bigger than I hoped it would be. Anyway, I'm looking forward. Still seems quite cool to me. Will let you guys know when it's here instantly.

also now I know why they wanted me to make a video ;) they could need a better demo video indeed

size: 11,5 x 5,5 x 2,5cm
weight: 141g

first impressions are very good. it has a glass heater indeed, only the bottom of the herb chamber is ceramic. Very hard to take a good picture of it, though.
Anyway, I've never seen a herb chamber like this in a portable vaporizer before!
The ceramic screen is also where the air enters. The airpath is sealed!
It takes 50 seconds to reach the hottest temp setting of 446°F.
it's about the size of an ascent, so it's not very small. The glass mouthpiece looks identical too, so maybe you can also use their watertool attachment. That would be great.
The cermamic cap does get very warm, so better avoid touching it directly.
I'm really looking forward to use it for the very first time tonight.
Will post an update tomorrow, it's still too early for me in Germany to get medicated right now ;)

Can you pull out the draw stem?

How's the flavor?

here is the promissed update.

the taste is really intense, pure and clean. Tasty but less visible vapor on 190°C, cloudy on 200°C!
I was really impressed. Performs very well. Never had a electronic glass heater in a portable before. That could be a real game changer! This is the first real innovative manufacturer from china, that's for sure.
However, later when I pulled out the glass screen (the inner glass tubing) for the first time, I've realized that there is a little silicone ring inside that holds the glass screen in place, so it's not all 100% glass! I assume it's made with the same material that protects the ceramic cap and the mouthpiece. You can actually see it in the pictures I have posted, I've realized today :D Stupid me.
That beeing said, I could not taste anything bad at all and I have not done many burnoffs before I've used it for the first time (maybe 3!). So it does not effect the nice taste of the vapor.
Still it's a little bit dissapointing to me, on the other hand this is the closest thing I have seen so far when it's about portable vaporizers with all glass ...

The inner glass screen is actually quite cool, because you can adjust the herb chamber with it by simply pushing it in a little further inside the bowl. If you have not grinded too fine, it's wide enough that your herbs will stay in place.

on 190°C/200°C the ceramic screen doesn't get too warm btw. only on 230°C it did get very hot.

what i don't like too much is the overall design. It feels a little bit cheap for the beast inside. It also doesn't sit too comfortable in my hand (i have small hands, though). Some rounder edges already would help, I guess.
I like the dial, reminds me on the good old box style vapes. However, it feels a little bit loose.

Altogether I'd say it's a great vaporizer for 90$ incl. shipping, though! Especially when you care more about performance than esthetics.

Is it a convection or conduction vaporizer?

(mostly) conduction. the lower part of the outer glass tube (there are actually three glass tubes, one outer glass tube that's also where the silicone ring is inside, the inner screen tube and the mouthpiece) gets hot. That part is also the herb chamber. I guess(!) there is some sort of a circular heating element around that part of the glass tube.

I'm puffing on mine....not totally convinced but agree with the mrweed review: taste is clean and don't seem to be polluted although nothing awesome (it's still a conduction vape but a step forward the others chinese companies), there is a tiny silicone taste imo...

Produce clouds but when you take away the heat from the chamber (when you draw) the clouds production decrease quickly (a good sign in favor of conduction...)

The housing is very cheap and breakable....and it's big (bigger than my Haze)

The dial is a bit too loose and not very accurate I think

About the glass stem I can see a à la Haze issue, when you slide it down the internal glass tube fit in the mouthpiece...so when this one will be gunky it will be difficult to take it out without to warm the unit. I agree about the need to use a coarse grind, too fine you get small bits in your mouth, i need t test a ungrounded flower!

Bowl is fully loaded with 0.15 max, the top stay a bit green and it doesn't turn the abv black, more on the yellow/brown side (I used something like 420 maxi at the end, 2 x 4mn session.

Timer is 4mn but as for the HipVap you can reactivate a 4mn cycle with a one press button.

I connected it to my bubbler using a bit of silicone tubing and it milked it at 395 and more.

To be honnest I expect they are working on an updated unit with slimer design, heavy body and a better dial (I like the dial idea from my Alfa too) with teeth so you can know what setting you use in the dark. And I can't see how to use it with concentrates too (except with the cotton method....I only use it for my reclaim), they need to work on something since it can heat enough to vape concentrates.

For me it could be a good vaporizer but it needs a lot of improvements.

edit: taste improves after several bowls, similar to the INH glass capsule now

Hi, I used this vape a lot this last days and I love the vapor quality it delivers, as mrweed noticed taste is pure and clean, vapor is smooth too!

It need a smaller load than 0.15, maybe under 0.1 to vape the load evenly and avoid green spots on the top of the load.

I lost the exact count but battery life is+15 sessions (4mn at 190°C and more)

Manufacturer told me they are working on a new version based on reviewers feedback...great but wait and see....

I received my IVAPED Box by DHL last week and found the offgassing of plastic and silicone too overwhelming for usage. Based on that, I do NOT recommend using this vaporizer to draw anything into the lungs. I am the Chief Science Officer where I work, so I try to be thorough when inspecting a new portable vape for health and safety issues. After all, the whole idea of vaporizing is to eliminate smoke and carcinogens. When these portable devices reach upwards of 400 + degrees F, all the noxious vapors reveal themselves, including solder (which starts to melt at 450 degrees), flux and industrial oils/solvent residues that begin to burn off, as well as methyl chloride that begins to break down and release from silicone which affects the Central Nervous System when inhaled. There should be no compromise when it comes to the vaporizer/airpath: no lead, no plastic, no mercury, no solder/flux fumes, and no aluminum fumes. Portables composed of Stainless steel, Glass and Titanium are among the few inert choices. This is/should be a primary issue for MMJ patients, and recreational users would be wise to heed the same guidelines. There are few, if any, portables that can make a claim to the purity of the vapor air path. The Firefly is one of the few exceptions, along with a stainless steel convection atomizer with a 510/ego thread for use with an external temperature controlled Mod (preferably without silicone o-rings). Log vapes and water tools/pipes/bongs are still a safe bet.

I gave you my user feedback and I'm not a scientitific.....I didn't noticed any offgassing, no visible fumes and no more silicone taste(except maybe for the firsts sessions), although offgassing is it always producing visible fumes and odors?

There is no plastic in the airpath I think, only a bit of ceramic (the lid), glass and some silicone joint to fit the lid, the internal glass tube and the external glass tube, but this joints are outside of the airpath (but still heated), so you can't draws fumes from them imo....

This airpath is better than most of china's vape pens (Imag, x-mas, Boss,...).

There is silicon in my Minivap too...and I'm pretty sure it's one of the safer vape in the world...

DuPont said that Teflon was safe too, when it first arrived on the scene. Now they admit that it poses a serious health risk and PAID the U.S. Gov't an undisclosed fine/sum as a result of making that claim that it was safe. The effects of silicone are just now starting to surface. There is a silicone o-ring on the inside of the glass heat chamber of the IVAPED Box which provides friction to hold the mouth piece and inner glass slider in place. Coincidentally, the manufacturer has just emailed me to inform that they are now looking at removing some silicone and possibly plastic parts because they truly want to deliver a clean and safe vapor/air path. We shall see after they make the changes and send me another to inspect. Meanwhile, they are making a pen version and are trying to apply the same safe application of inert materials. In the interest of public safety, this post is for anyone/ everyone trying to get info about the IVAPED Box and is not aimed at any specific FC member or their response.

Thanks for the infos, sorry I know you wasn't replying specifically to me, I mis-typed. I'm really pleased they listen your/us feedback and they are working on a new version.

I thought the silicone o-ring was outside the glass bowl since the internal glass tube fits in the bowl, although even like that we can consider there is a bit of silicone in the airpath, yes.

But the taste is still very good imo, the last vape I tested before is the hipVap and this one taste better.
