yes, I've adjusted it every which way. And each time I adjust it, with the bottom pin placed up into the assembly, I look down in it with a magnifier to ensure that the screw is hitting the bottom bin but not deflecting the bottom pin. And then I go the other way and insert the top gold pin down only and do the same. I am getting low readings <6v or no reading at all w voltmeter measured at the top pin with the core.

I'm not the most adept at this stuff but I don't know what else to try but a new button assembly.

is this with the circuit board or without?

I get the same results whether I use the core or two AW IMR 18350s (with circuit board).
two important things I learned from Gary tonite (all while he was smoking a fatty or 2) that fixed my issue, in case you find em helpful - install the bottom pin into the round plastic sleeve outside of the 8, and then push the whole bottom assembly in, centered, by pushing on the bottom pin. All this while the button assembly itself is already centered in its slot and pressed in abit. Then do the same for the top pin.

And second, when adjusting the top pin to a specific cart on the 8, screw the cart onto the top first - off the 8, then screw the assembly onto the 8 until you get about 1 mm of gap, then pull off the top pin, hand screw the top nut in 1/4 turn, and then handtighten the two nuts together. Then replace the top pin back into the 8 and screw back on the top with the cart.

thanks Gary. youre the king :leaf:

Can we setup a time to skype? It fires every couple of times. Seems like the button copper screw is loose and I can't get the white disc out to tighten the copper screw

If you can't get it out you need a new button assembly, submit a ticket and Sam will get on it tomorrow. Well get you up and running ASAP.

Out of curiosity,
@THC SCIENTIFIC Why does the KISS AC globe/cartridge use separate threaded parts, instead of both glass and metal covers that slip on/off via the globe base? (Like and RDA)

because we like to have things not move around that much when stored in pockets. Threads make it more secure.

Curious to know how you got the plastic piece out.

Nice, grabbed some kiss 3 single coils and another chrome persei to leave in my car as a backup. Going to secret squirrel stash them everywhere.

Dude I feel the same way at this point. Picked up The Bender and another Omicron during the first sale. Then I got a spare 601 Globe and another 510 Globe to try on my new temp control mod.

Then @THC SCIENTIFIC springs on me the new touch button Omicron and I'm still waiting to pre-order the Nibbler AC!! Soon I'll have W9 vapes for every room of the house.

Nibbler XL for ~85 shipped seems tough to pass up. Hope it happens again this year, cause my cash reserves are too tapped out this round.

@lonelyhero if you don't already have one, snag a chrome hammer top to use on that chrome body when it's hammer (or bending) time. Bending w/ the v2 top w/o hammer top was a pain for me.

i ordered a hammer a while back its pretty fun to use with the herc as well but id really like a v4

Edit: anyone know how id go about getting a trim ring for the v2 i ordered?

Fat Daddy vapes. Yes i know the name. I remember @thevaf coming to my store showing the new donuts that fat daddy started selling, and i quickly showed him the original universe cartridge, he walked out knowing we are light years ahead of the current market. He can testify to this i promise that.

TESTIFY! :worms:
Im late to this discussion, and it looked like mods got involved (we've all been struck by that axe, no hard feelings, even G got hit a couple years back, consider it an FC initiation), but i am not trying to stir shit up again. Utopia Planita/UPTech/W9/Warehouse 103/WeChangeOurNameEveryYearVapeCo  were ahead of the game in terms of ceramic coils. Just wanted to point out that @THC SCIENTIFIC keeps his promises

I took one of my 1st gen KISS carts and shoved a fat daddy vapes ceramic coil in there to see how it would work. I posted it here on this thread about 100 pages ago. Showed it to G in his shop and he showed me the first Universe cartridge using his original version of the ceramic coil heater. The main difference is that the Universe used a much larger diameter ceramic coil, about the size of the nickel. A few months go by and he announced the 1701...rest is history.

Being ahead of the game in concept and prototype is one thing. But with capitalism it doesnt matter whos first to the idea, it's about whose first to market.

Yihi is the most popular chinese chip manufacturer in the ecig market. Now they have temp control devices.
In fact, their new SX350j chip features a buck circuit now. Guess what other mod had a buck circuit when it was released? the fucking Iris :science:

Now tell me what happened to the TRITON!!!!!

Man, where mah Iris v2s at?! Can't stop fantasizing about "set it and forget it" bending...

I couldn't tell what G meant, but he posted a pic of the iris v2 chip.
On a side note fuck it

This was suppose to be the Iris v2 and what it had evolved into.

Been working on this for over 2 years now, and every time we make adjustment or add on a feature our plans and schematics are shared with other vape companies. So we go back to the drawing board and start all over again.

Good luck. That was your temperature control for titanium coils.

I dont know what he meant by that last line? @THC SCIENTIFIC are you killing the iris v2?
Yes its been copied already but we want your flavor!

thevaf,
Yeah, I meant "how close to production is it?" I can't imagine they'd back down from universal temp control, when it can only serve to improve all of their producyts already on the market. As long as I set it right, I could just pass the Herc/1701/dual coil to a nub and get perfect results with minimal time spent explaining. Button technique discussion tends to make nubs uncomfortable. Different button techniques between pens seems to blow a lot of people's minds.

Sorry for some late responses this week. I have been pretty sick and had to take a few days off... I tried playing catch up today but have a few more balls to try to catch tomorrow. I really appreciate your patience.

For tonight though, it's real nice to have a device I can depend on to help with my stomach and nausea issues. I'm done with prototype testing and back to my tried and true SR74x. This herc and nibbler xl have seen over 3oz of oil in the last year and a half. For me, I still haven't found a better oil vape. We're still trying to build a better one though.

Here's to your Friday.

Hope you are feeling better Sam.

I too have been using many different devices over the past few years. I now have draws full of various devices. Since I have the 74x I am pretty convinced that this is the best oil vape device out there. Consistent flavour, no blockages, no leaking etc

The only problem is that it is a little boring. As a recreational user I used to smoke joints. There was a whole ritual associated with cleaning the grass, prepare the skin, build the joint etc. All I have to do with the 74x is throw in a lump every couple of days and give it a bit of a clean in ISO once a week. Sometimes I clean it more often (i do not clean the doughnut regularly, I have only done that once in the 2 months I have been using it) but that is more out of habit than necessity.

Anyone new to the Herc will have a learning curve, it took me a while to combat the leaking into the lower chamber (no problem though I just removed the oil from the lower chamber and put it on the AC double coil which is still my wife's favourite although she is starting to come around to the 74x).

If the Herc can be improved I will be first in line but I think it maybe tricky to improve it but I applaud your attempts to do so.

So far after extensive testing with the Prototype no-leak Herc Chamber, I can conclusively say that I prefer the SR.-71 in standard form. The flavor degradation is not worth the benefit of lack of leakage. It is a great oil vape as is. That said, never stop trying to make it better @THC SCIENTIFIC . For my driver, I find the AC 7.4v 1701 to fit me perfectly lately. I still need a new AC Glass.
