Been using my SSV more often now that the LSV's Honeymoon stage is wearing off.

Still  my LSSV, but I just can't get the same gigantic clouds like I do with the SSV, even using the same exact HC. I'm thinking it has something to do with the SSV's shell, it keeps the ambient temperature around the HC hotter so it has a bigger heat mass?!?

My current favorite set-up is my 11mm LSSV GonG w/basket screen using a ~15" silicone tube. Much easier to handle than the huge SSV wands and you get instant vapor.

I need to feel the burn, I can't help myself. :freak:

I hear ya brosive. My mighty might compare, but my enano is no match for the ssv. And my volcano is from another planet. Love em all, but I keep hitting that ssv like a teenager on Friday night.

Yeah i agree on the heat capacity/thermal mass.

If left on for a long time the temperature of the entire unit rises above ambient and until an equilibrium is reached.
Your location and respective climate also has quite an affect, In CO during the summer i could use probably 25% less heat on the dial?
Back in Scotland and at that same position i am not getting the same clouds, and also not reading the same temps. That made me wonder about people in overly hot/cold countries.

How does the vape perform in an uninsulated garage during a canadian winter?
Also how would it perform in the sun?:tinfoil::tinfoil:

I guess my LSV running cooler than others seems to report is a result of the lower ambient temperatures here (as in its cold as fuck all the fucking time, for fuck).

Try wrapping your LSV HC in the high temp insulation and have a play with the laws of thermodynamics. Thats the best way to learn physics! by utilizing it to get you high, then mastering it to get you higher!

The crafty does indeed compare to my surprise, in relation to the heating element type i mean.
They put on a good show over at Storz & Bickel - Markus bolstered, if not cemented the medical viability of pulmonary phytocannabinoid delivery. Which is of course a fantastic thing as it made it a-lot easier for me to melt onto my keyboard as i type this.

I can't tell which of these is more appropriate

I definitely noticed I had to turn my SSV/LSV down a bit in summer when its getting to 40+...

I'm not too sure how much of an equilibrium the case reaches but If nothing else, I'd think it would take more heat to heat up cooler ambient air...

Yeah the air is cooler as you say, which also affects the max temperature the unit gets too.

But i can imagine on a hot summers day in the south (of the USA, not scotland trolol) if you had a black SSV i bet after an hour so in the sun that fucker would be HOT!
Then that would heat up the disk and the mount and also the HC some more - allowing the heater to lose less heat to those areas (if this was for academic work, i would have to re-word that)

Well I've had my SSV for a few weeks now and love it! The only small issue I had was them sending me the DBV oil kit HC instead of the SSV one but they sent me the right one. I got a blemished unit and so far no issues at all with it heating up quickly and no marks/scratches of any kind, at least that I can see.

the arizer elbow basket fits the GG wands, i get mine from ebay.

How does the basket screen sit in the wand? Does it go all the way in like a regular screen or does it sit on the end like it would on the arizer elbow wand?

the basket has a lip, so it sits snugly right on the tip of the GG wand (not as well on the Standard, IMO). ....

So it would sit just like the one in this pic?

Or you can try and remove the metal ring, allowing it to sit inside the wand and be adjustable up and down. This also opens the screen up a bit farther giving you more room to fit your flowers.

You can also make your own basket screens if you have some screens wide enough.

I'm looking at the SSV, and am curious:

- if it will work well with my Nexus puck bubbler, which has a 14mm male joint
- what I need to order other than the vape itself to accomplish this
- does anyone have any reason I should not order a blemished SSV at a discount?

Sorry if this is all covered, I haven't read the (lengthy) thread.

You should be good to go? I believe the stock whip fits 14mm male, I'll check when I get home. It fits 14mm great. I love my blemished unit!

I don't know if I got lucky but my blemished SSV looks perfect to me, no scratches or anything.

I received my "blemished" unit today, and like some others in the thread, I can't find any blemishes on it :)

I connected it to my Nexus puck via 7th Floor's adapter, and it's ripping great right out of the box (well, after the burn in time of course)

I was wondering about ideas for a bong/ bubbler specifically made for the ssv hieght wise why has no one created a bubbler that creates an all glass pathway,I know you guys work with a blower on dhgate was wondering do you not care for all glass?
.I currently made a broken standard wand into a bowl for my smaller rig but I need to pick up the surfer to hit it.it works very well but
Why not a piece specific for it.my thoughts for the standard heater cover line up was to have the downstem the hieght of ssv (female 18 mm gong set at right hieght along with the extreme q vortex adapter for ssv gong HC or ssv could make standard wand /slide. you'd simply push them til they meet/connect just like normal HC/Wands but no whip/tube. Anyone got a bubbler or bong from dhgate that does this. ideally it gets disassembled as to clean for the oils ( if wands attached have to use ISO ugh
Also tip don't know if anyone ever mention straws, plastic straws like McDonald's etc..are perfect for cleaning the wand put wand in freezer for condensation to build up or a drop of water rub it around the glass this creates a slickness to easily scrape the wand hash.now push the straw up then pull out without touching sides and start from bottom or else it smears the oils on the straw everywhere. I always read people usin alcohol to reclaim there oils why not scrape ?I personally hate chemicals. This method i can pull it all out in after its just like HBO scraping but it ends up in a tube pick it out literally and roll into hash balls til needed!
I live in a low humidity so moisture is gone quick if storing after, make sure you chop up like bubble hash to get moisture out. Lmk this is first post just been to vaped to ever sign up and post I'm a recluse even on the Internet I stay in my corner lol.

The LSV might be what youre looking for, connected to the bubbler of yor choice.

I wonder if someone could make a piece that sits on the SSV like the aroma top but has a spherical bowl that fits into the HC. I can picture it in my head, but it ain't pretty!
