  • Improved Heating System
  • Improved Vapor Production
  • Perpetuheat System (PHS)
  • 50 minute battery life
  • All Glass Vapor Path

I'd advise not purchasing. It's not worth the cost for an original Cloud that will not be under warranty. It is most likely genuine, but very old stock.

I thought the OG tickers had the least amount of issues in comparison with the cloud+ and EVO? Why would the warranty matter?

More than likely they are cloud+ and potentially could have something to do with the eBay shit show a while back.

Either way, no warranty. Best VXL will do is a discount for the EVO.

Hey FC,

I met this guy who was giving up blowing trees, and he had an OG Cloud + evolver glass that looked and operated in good condition. He had all the original papers, and wanted $200 bucks. I'm coming from a vaporbro's box desktop w/ bong attachment to a beaker, so the Cloud has always been a bleep on my radar. I figure I could try out this older model and see if I get the taste for the EVO, so I throw down for this dude's unit. Bare minimum I will have one of their hydrotubes, and just need to find a deal on an EVO.

I've had it a couple weeks, and it's been mixed feelings. But the unit is potentially so old, I'm not sure how critical to be. If I could have a few clarifications from one of the more experienced users here, I'd really appreciate it.

1) How can I tell it's age? The previous owner said he had it for a year, but didn't the EVO start coming out by then? The evolver is one of the newer versions (Bent at the top, instead of a straight tube) so I'm not certain.

2) How touchy is the green/red light change? I know it can take 10 - 15 min's to heat up, so I give it time. But it will turn green in like... a couple minutes. But I can tell it's still rather cool. Given more time it'll switch back to red and continue to heat until the unit really is hot, and then go back to green. I'll then pick it up for use, and its back to red! Normal, or sign of concern?

3) How efficient is this supposed to be? Because it feels more like a bazooka, compared to the Vaporbro's unit being like a shotgun. But I'm also packing a decent amount of herb to fill at least 50% of the Cloud's chamber, while Vaporbro gets a pinch or two of material.

The Cloud will give me 2 - 4 great hits, and I'm not getting any results by the 7th or 8th pull (W/ stirring every 3 - 4 hits). Vaporbro's will go strong 6 - 8 hits, and if I want I could grind out 10 - 12 total (w/ stirring every 2 - 3 hits) before a drop in production. Either way, I will be well on my way to medicated. But for the realistic price of the Cloud at ~$500, versus my Vapbro's set up at half that cost ($200 + ~$50 bong) using wayyyy less herb to produce more clouds that are marginally smaller.

This is getting rather long, so I will limit my questions to this. But if it's a bust, just give it to me straight. Any trouble shooting ideas appreciated as well.

If he bought a Cloud one year ago it is probably not legit. I can't recommend enough staying away from used Clouds unless you can be absolutely certain it was from VXL and not one of the fake ones on ebay. Care to share any of the paperwork details, like cost and where it came from?

It sounds like it could be functioning properly however...

Once it's heatsoaked, does the red light come on for less than a minute before it recovers to green?

And with 1/3 to 1/2 you should be getting huge one-hits?

I think they're all a crapshoot unless it's an evo, which is the only version that is repairable, and carries a decent warranty. There are some great clouds out there but there's probably a lot more dead ones.

I thought the eBay Clouds were liquidated inventory sold by a manufacturer that VXL had a dispute with, but that they were still legitimate and not fake per se.

Hey guys,

Thank you for the replies.

That's what I was afraid to hear. The paperwork I have is minimal, and just outlines general use and the warranty. No dates or receipts, and I didn't think to ask. I knew I was taking a risk, looks like this one might not pan out.

Yes, once it's heated everything works well enough. It will flicker red here and there, but I wouldn't say its over a minute. Is the one-hitting intentional? I find it slightly frustrating, but it's hard to justify because the herb comes out evenly a nice dark brown. So in that way it's rather good, I'm just not use to my bowls not lasting so long.

Yeah, I assumed there was that inherent risk. I might've lost out on this one.

REALLY? Well that's good news I suppose.

May I ask what amount of herb do you usually put in? Loosely or packed?

Just drop the herb in the ELB, packing is unnecessary as it increases restriction and can negatively impact performance.

I pull the ELB between hits and shake it, stirring is never necessary.

The Cloud is no more or less efficient than any other vape that's capable of a thorough roast, it all comes down to self control. You can put in just enough to cover the bottom of the ELB or you can fill it 3/4 of the way full. Load up your Vapor Brothers with your standard amount and then transfer it to the ELB if you believe you're packing more than necessary. It'll give you a better idea of what size load works best for you. You may find certain size loads are more satisfying in some vapes than others. The Cloud isnt as satisfying with extremely small loads as say my UD but they both get me to the same place with the same amount.

I found it was most satisfying to hit with 1/4 ELB loads.

I like it about 1/4 - 1/3 loosely full for big one-hitters, but the cloud sips well too.

Anything not bought from vxl was a fake, as I understand it.
There were retailers for the cloud that are 100% legit - so that doesn't sound right to me...

Also, can you define fake?

My understanding was that most (all?) of those ebay clouds were the 3rd party manufacturer selling excess stock without authorization after VXL had a dispute with some part of their production process that was unsatisfactory.

If my above understanding is correct, then they weren't fake per se...
Unauthorized, Factory 2nds, Whatever other qualifier is appropriate...

Granted, they did become widely known as the fakexhale...

This is my understanding as well. I might add that the Fakexhales were being made with some inferior parts (shady fucking manufacturer) that caused them to have a short lifespan. The Evo is made with better parts (as were the OG Clouds before the Cloud+ came along).

I'm trying to think if there were any distributors carrying the Cloud before the debacle. There certainly could have been, but I don't think so. It's too early!

My Fakexhale is still putting out clouds, although it doesn't get much use anymore as I prefer the Versa Infinity for big hits.
