Is vapor wasted in session based vapes?

Hey everyone! My question is what happens to the vapor released in a session based vape like the Crafty, Mighty and others that's not inhaled? So lets say you pack a bowl in one of the vapes, take a few rips and turn it off for later. Although it's off, I assume that because the heat some vapor is released. Is this vapor wasted, as in gone forever or does it go back in to the material? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks.

btw, I pack a full trench in my MFLB and take a hit or two every other day and I don't change out the trench for about a half a month. Virtually no waste in that it is not a session vape being that heat is only applied when you are actually hitting it and then it goes cold.

Gotta get the right tool for the job, eh? If efficiency is important to you and you only take a few hits at a time, there are much better options than getting a session vape.

It's not wasted if you turn it off, then take another hit or two while the temp is still within vaping range. This is my standard procedure.

Thanks! That's what I suspected. I experience the same thing in my MFLB. In that vein do you have any suggestions for this type of vape? The only other I can think of is the Firefly.

Makes sense. Inhale the vapor that would be left in the chamber.

The big "waste" from using a session type vape for only a hit or two is really battery life in my mind, since it's only going to heat up from cold to vaping temp a handful of times at most before it needs to be recharged whether you hit it or not. Your only going to get 6-10 hits per battery charge when used for just a couple hits now and then.

I only have experience with battery powered vapes. That's why I can't wait for the grasshopper, and it sounds like that would be good for you too. Lots of people on FC love their butane powered vapes, and they'll list their faves for you to consider. Lots more homework for you!

Yes Indeed! So many choices. I've been eying the Grasshopper since it was announced but I can't wait ha ha.

Either could I, so I ordered one and got the Crafty for now... But I can't wait for the gh.

Conduction is cooking your weed while heating up and cooling down. It's like eating a steak while it is still on the grill, if you aren't fast enough you get nothing.

Convection heats herb when you want it to.

This is what I like about the firefly, besides flavor it's an awesome "one-hitter" for me (usually 2-3 hits).

I currently do that with my Mini's to help conserve battery life.

I do understand though that with session vapes, that it also helps in the efficiency department, but still, with vapes such as those, I've experienced and seen vapor leakage happening in between hits as well as when the bowl is heating up so while I agree that it helps to mitigate the problem, I still think that in general, even when your technique is applied, is still less efficient than heat on demand vaporizers, eh?

I've packed small amounts into the crafty with great results, I've also had to stop my session abruptly and finish later with good results. I don't know if it's the right vape for you but those are my experiences. Sadly battery life sucks as every time you cold start it your basically using up a session.

Seems to me that with these vape anymore your saving a lot of herb anyway. I recently switched to concentrates in eliquid and I gotta be down to like 2 bucks a day for meds. With flowers it was closer to 5.

This is why when I'm using a vape that uses conduction (or both conduction and convection) I turn it off and take another 2-3 pulls before putting it away.

Generally, if you see vapor and you aren't inhaling it, it is being wasted. It will not settle back on your goods. Session vapes, like the HA, are great for sessions <g> but you have to work a little harder to keep from wasting goods if you don't finish what you put in. With the HA, I tend to tap the crucible out if I didn't finish it.
If you aren't a session kind of guy you may want something more "immediate" like torch fired vapes like the Lotus or Daisy. They are only putting heat to your goods while you are inhaling, so there is less waste and/or waiting. The lighters and butane are starting to wear on me a little.
I am currently testing The Zion vape which is a (nearly) instant on battery powered vape, and I have to tell you I am really liking it a lot. Fast to heat, great flavor, great hit density, pure convection, Wood, glass and other safe materials and extremely flexible on how you use it. And session free, if you want one hit you take one hit and put it down. It hits very well dry, but I have been using it with water a lot, and I love it.
It is still in beta but has a thread in "candidates". I'm pretty sure they are taking orders. I really think this vape is gonna check a lot of boxes for folks. It has for me. I still love my Lotus, but I've hardly used it since I started testing Zion.

With the Solo, Air and Enano you can remove the mouthpiece and save your cannabis for later. The bowl is within the mouthpiece with those vaporizers. I do notice a little vapor escaping from my Enano and Solo's mouthpiece when they are on. My Solo continues to cook my material while it's on but not with the Enano.

that's why i elbow pack with my eq rather than the cyclone bowl can just take the elbow screen out and leave the elbow in to keep warm and put screen back in when I'm ready. But I rarely do so only when I'm cooking dinner or something where I have to get up and down.

I noticed this the other day with my nano. I put the stem on and the bowl had maybe one last hit in it. Then I went to do something (as I walked away I knew I'd forget) but yeah I sure did forget it was on there until about 20 minutes later.

Came back and took a hit And was pleasantly surprised to see some vapor and that the herb was no darker than all my other abv that never sat there for 20 minutes.

I always assumed the nano would cook if the stem was left on but it seems like if it does, it's not much.

My herbalaire on the other hand, I try and use it every now and then as a little session vape for myself and I never fail to FORGET about it. Every time, and I don't even pack the crucible that much, like under half way every time.

I'll start off well, taking pretty quick consecutive hits, but as the time goes on and I start to get higher I forget that I'm even using the damn thing. So multiple times it'll sit unhit for 5, 10 minutes and I only have myself to blame for the loss.
