The HI

@lazylathe - Glad you are enjoying your HI. Low voltage DC power makes it so versatile. A battery pack lets you take it almost anywhere. Thanks for posting photos.

@Likes2vape - Will be happy to keep the wood until I get to your name on the list. I recommend the stainless steel heater cover for the milkiest hits since it produces hotter air than the glass heater cover.

@DieHard - A real beautiful piece of wood. Will make a fine HI.

@killick - More amazing wood. Can't wait to turn it.

@Wavesong - Thanks for posting the photo. Hope you are having fun with the different roasting tubes.

@OnlyHuman - I haven't needed to use a VVPS with my Slide-a-Bowl tube. It works really well at 12 volts. If you wan't to use the HI with a battery pack, I recommend a Voltage Keeper VVPS.

Had a piece of very nice wood that was too short to make a regular HI, so I figured out a way to make a HI out of it anyhow. It is the "MiniHI".
The unit is about 3" tall and 1.5" in diameter. The top is amboyna burl and the bottom is purple heart wood.
No glue was used to connect the wood together. The screws that hold the heater cover in place also hold the two pieces of wood together. The heater is soldered directly to the power socket which is threaded into the wood (no glue). The unit performs just like a regular HI and is designed to operate 24/7 just like a regular HI.

@Teri recently asked if I would make her a HI shaped like a pineapple. You know how I like a challenge.

Here is the PI. This one is the chunky pineapple model. Still need to make a crushed pineapple model. Works just like a HI. I can make a HI into almost any shape. Need to make one from apple wood. It would be Apple PI.

The top section forms a square edge bowl 3" x 3".

The stainless steel heater cover sets at the bottom of a 1" diameter hole.
