But..........."redesigned" has many, many forks in the road...........
The fork we took was not planned but from the Universe.
Connections that allowed us to try something different. Without the connection, I could NEVER have got the cargo on the train. Way too pricey for this little guy......................

I'm going to guess that the wood screws together to capture and hold the heat exchanger tightly in place. It can also be taken apart for cleaning. Kind of like a threaded lid box.

Looking forward to see what you have designed whatever it is.

hmm, im going to to guess some sort of redesigned, ringless heat exchanger, based off comments i spotted here and there in your posts. i may be way off tho... or too vague in my guess even?


I'm going to guess that the wood screws together to capture and hold the heat exchanger tightly in place. It can also be taken apart for cleaning. Kind of like a threaded lid box.

I know that is cheating. who does not like gifts :D

I would guess a stainless sleeve separating the outer wood from the heat exchanger. This would protect the wood from direct contact with higher temps.

The others have already covered my guesses...it has to be something to do with the rattle of course based on the posts of late! At any rate, exciting news....I know a few people who may be in the market for a new vaporizer, myself included! Glad things are well in zapville.

It is my next guess that Zapville has invented some microscopic Nano-Bots, which will eat ABV, and shit Purple Kush.
Rick has found a way to install the micro factories within each Zap... and The Nano-Bots will deliver herb to your stem, as you plug it in, and they will gobble up your ABV, before you can withdraw your stem...
And the cycle goes on!

ob, I don't think this is in tandem with anyone else....I think Rick is doing this all by his lonesome....and with Zaplady, of course. :cool: Whatever this new heat port idea is, it's really intriguing. And if this new idea eliminates the rattle, one of the main things to go wrong with this style vape will be eliminated. So exciting!

I find myself checking this thread several times a day now, just to see what the guesses are.... :D

I'd like to put my pre-order in now if it's going to be that nanobots thingie. :D I don't yet own a zap, but I've been lurking for a while. I've got a few guesses, if y'all don't mind. (I love a mystery. )
Maybe a new way to vary the temp?
Or maybe a redesigned heatport that includes a minor change to make it more in line with the system used in another vaporizer (e.g., WDZ, PD, or TT), so that tubes/tips/etc could be (more) interchangeable with those other vapes? (e.g., then maybe cleardome or someone like him would make a super-cool one-size-fits-all stem... :) ) And maybe that redesign would also eliminate the need for a solution to the rattle problem?
Hmmm....maybe a ceramic insulator also as part of the redesign to help with the rattle issue?
Or maybe some more modern heating system other than that same ceramic resistor used in all of the log vapes? (tried and true, sure, but there is always room for advancement, right?)
Or maybe some combination of all of those things? (especially the nanobots! I'm serious about that pre-ordering... :brow: )

oh just waaaaait :brow: its going to be awesome(er)! im so sure that everyone will love it and I'm glad as hell that I decided to hold off a week or so on my order to get the new... thing :cool: my timing on things usually isnt so fortunate... suffice it to say that you multi-zap owners will undoubtedly be adding another to your ranks soon. :lol:

rick should be sharing info very soon, meanwhile i'm sworn to secrecy or else i'd blab on and on about it... well in a not so vague way at least lol

i'll just say that anyone looking to order any type of log vape would do well to wait a bit and see the change... imo, zap is goin to be unquestionably superior now.

hmm, ringless heat exchanger means the heat exchanger is in some other way fixed into the wood
if it fixes the rattle, that would mean the charring of wood n contact with metal should be fixed

maybe the wood is first covered with some sort of substance that doesnt char the wood or expand, but does expand a bit after placing the heat exchanger so that the heat exchanger is fixed?
maybe an heat exchanger made from something other then metal?
maybe a glass heat exchanger?

I think it's safe to say that steiner might be in the "loop" as well as a few others....
