Difficult to tell right now, too few vapes in the wild. Can you see a small flashing LED light (in case you have any issues, the flashing lights will indicate if it's a dead battery, or something worse).

Theoretically, you should be able to operate this vaporizer blind (since the temperature adjustment is a physical dial, not a button).

In fact I intend to make a small container almost the same volume as the GH oven itself so you can pre-load them with herbs, and simply dump into the GH as needed (I plan on doing testing in a dark room to ensure it works perfectly before I release this product)

But again, we really can't answer that question just yet, wait another 2-3 weeks and I bet you'll see a few more GH users who can provide more feedback

Hi stoned cold, I don't have a GH yet, so can't say for sure, but I imaging the positive 'click' from the on/off button can only be a good thing. Also the temp dial may work for you if you, for example, turn it fully clockwise (low) and incrementally increase it - I'm sure you'd quickly get an idea of where you were between 1 and 5. I also think that the fast heat-up time would mean that you would be aware when the vape was on or off, not left wondering "has it shut down?"...or "is it heating up?"

Anyway, I was only replying because I had read a (very moving) post on vapecritics site written by a severely visually impaired user of the crafty. He loved several features, namely the vibration function; the positive feeling mechanical twist on/off cooling unit; and it was the first vape he owned that he could fill up himself (using the filling aid).

But to answer your original question, or rather, offer my opinion, I think the GH will be one of the best vapes for visually impaired people. But.... I do think loading it may be problematic for you, and me, and any one without 20/20 vision and the steady hands of a surgeon.

Cool, looks like Ratchett got it covered already. Would you/could you fit 4 or 5 of these into a jyarz container and head out for the day?

thanks guys!...I think I won't have any problems with loading the chamber since I've owned vaporizers that were very tricky to load like the MFLB & the Ascent....compared to my EVO, Air & Solo, which I find very easy to load, operate & clean...3 of the most important qualifications of a good vaporizer for ME, imo......almost forgot...it should also extract my herb very well....

Hey! I have a close friend that is also visually impaired. Can't comment on the GH but he uses a Crafty and raves about the simplicity. One button, loading tool, etc...

I also have one. I love the flavor but the heating time is frustrating. Anyway, I know this is off topic but just a suggestion.

Now I'll go back to patiently waiting on my GH..

If easy loading is a huge factor..... Something I have been thinking about with this vape would be to use a glass log insert.... of course this would pretty much defuse the stealth attraction... but I have been very curious as to what sort of effect it might have... taste, cooling etc...

Now talk about easy of loading a log vape.... every other vape owner that I know that gets to witness me loading and unloading... Agrees hands down.... Yo simply blow out the ABV {tap if your saving it} then with it in your mouth you simply slide the glass log into just about anything... I use my old doob tubes but as of late I like these pill containers that screw tight... but whatever just slip it down it the flowers and pull.... if your screen is not clogged in anyway you will end up pulling in more than can fit in the log so with the end of your finger you can knock off and pack the log chamber.... all done by touch and feel...
I do this in the dark all the time.....:peace:

So I do wonder if any of our GH holders might have a glass log that might slip into the chamber.... and should it be a 4" glass log like I use that would be even better as I am also curious about the cooling offered by the extra 3" of glass.... anyone...in say the name of :science: and all that....:peace:

Are we sure we are even getting an update? I was thinking the update a couple days ago WAS the update.

Yeah and it had too much of the exact same verbiage, in the July 1 update they said see you on the 15th or whatever.

@Old School that sounds not possible with the GH, I doubt a glass log stem could fit inside the oven diameter

Oddly enough my biggest complaint about the GH is the temp dial is kind of hard to see. The surface of the colored Ti's is a little coarse so that might be better since you get more tactile feedback

That difficulty in seeing the temp dial has been a concern of mine precisely because I chose the dark grey Ti. So I hope you're right about the texture's "coarseness."

Does anyone know the mah rating on the batteries?
I don't believe that has been officially revealed. The battery is a special size and at 12.4mm x 63mm is bigger than the AAA size 10440 Li-ion (10mmx44mm) which is typically rated somewhere between 300 to 600 mah.

The battery code is the size. a 12.4mm x 63mm battery would probably have an official designation code (depending on whether it had a PCB fitted or not) somewhere between 12600 and 13630.

18650 Li-ion (18mmx65mm) are typically rated between 2200 to 3400 mah and run up to around u$22 for a quality 3400mah battery.

Length is a factor in achievable mah, but it appears that somewhere below 14mm cell width the rate of drop off in mah is more pronounced. I am picking that a 12600/13630 would rate somewhere between 800 and 1300. However, at $7 for a GH battery, it is more likely to be 800 to 1000.

Battery suppliers (particularly brand names ending with 'fire') can be guilty of false claims up to and over 100% of the real (tested) mah.

However, it appears that mah is not the last word in battery power/life so probably shouldn't read too much into it.

Hi,

I'm also visually impaired and was one of the early bird backers. I didn't receive my hopper at the moment. But when I have it, I will inform you if it is easy to use when you are blind.

The batteries are as first stated above and rated @ 750mah ;)

Well that can only be half true as they are considerably bigger than a 10440. The 750mah makes sense as they are very cheap (cheaper than a good quality protected 'true' 400mah 10440 Li-ion). Where did you find disclosure of the mah?

Buzz's picture, not mine.

Yes it's 750mAh. It's also a custom size that you'll only be able to purchase from GH (not that that matters at all.)

Thanks, I figured it had to be printed on it. I'm looking into an external battery pack and was curious so I know what I want to get.
