D-Cycler info sent to Steven. Waiting on a reply, and then if everythign goes well, a sample.

With Regards to Necks....

Am I the only one who likes really thick necks with Ice Pinches for extra cooling? I think that they should be incorporated into some of these designs. Into a nice BIG piece.

I just got the FC1000 and excellent as it is I would have liked it even bigger with thicker glass.

I'm sure you'll find some people here who like ice, but most (according to a poll we took a while ago) use hot water instead, which while sounding counterproductive, adds a lot of moisture to the hits, and makes them feel much more comfortable. Cold water/ice also causes the vapor to condense on the glass more quickly.

That's why, thus far, nobody has really pushed for a piece with ice pinches, but if you have any suggestions/ideas for one, feel free to post them.

Anyone think a bee hive side car version of the fc-710 (diffusion pump) would be possible/cool?
http://dankstop.com/concentrate-pipes-and-dab-rigs/crush-glass-bee-hive-dab-rig/?
Possible? - I can see no reason why they couldn't slap a diffusion pump inside one of those.
Cool? - TBH, I think it looks kinda ugly,

but that's the way with worked pieces... It's pretty hard to find a style that most people would appreciate...

Yeah I'm not a huge fan, just thought that would be an appropriate level of 'heady' for a chinese blower to be able to do well. On another note, I'm a huge fan of Logjam's other work. There's a blower near me out of Madison who has his own custom "biter" perc that is pretty dope. Its like a showerhead perc was the dominant parent in a showerhead-honeycomb perc baby.

Stevens diffusion pump needs some changes. Sidecar mouthpiece or snake dripper mouthpiece, heavier base like mothership, can size is thin to grip like a can. Female joint extended to stick out like a male joint. Can you guys picture this beauty?

Diffusion pump is fine as is imo.
Many of us don't like male joints on our bubblers - they can be a bitch to clean over time. A female joint on the bubbler ensures the vapor path never makes contact with ground glass (especially for dry herb vaporizing, I don't know about extracts)

I've said it before and I'll say it again - if it has a male joint, I won't buy it no matter how fucking cool it looks :nope:

It's probably just a semantic thing, but no, it doesn't need any changes.

Some of those changes could be cool, but they're just aesthetic changes...

snake dripper mouthpiece?
I can only assume that's some kind of small sipper style mouthpiece?
If so my vote is a massive no.

Heavier base - it's super stable with its current design, a different base would just be cosmetic...
I do kinda like the look of it ATM, but I also do like the idea of having the design maintain functionality but be distinct from the original...

Can size is thin to grip like a can - what does this even mean? It's got a pretty slim can as it is anyways...

Female joint - hells to the yes

I 100% agree with the uselessness of the male joints...
However - I've been using my 710 pretty much exclusively for dabs using a domeless nail and dropdown.
There is very little claim forming on/around the joint.

I assume it's just because the dropdown is catching a decent amount of the claim, and probably that I don't dab as hard as some guys, but I'd say make an exception for the 710 If you want a kickass dabbing rig :)

(But yeah, all the male joints need to stop )

Indeed, I think the dropdown is catching most of the reclaim. But my direct connect with a 14mm female to my Nano gunked up every male bubbler I had within weeks.

Definitely interested in the FC-710, but alas, I'm sticking to my guns on this one

Yes, please no more male joints! If you're reading this vendors, just make everything female and if someone needs a male joint sell them a male to male dropdown and make more money!

I think a big cause of the 'popularity' of male joints has more to do with glassblowers realizing it means more money due to certain incompatibilities, leading people buy more pieces. It also means more broken joints, especially when you consider the fact that dabbing equipment regularly gets stuck to male joints and it requires twisting or torching the joint to get it unstuck, which leads to extra joint stress. Also, male joints just seem weaker to begin with to me. I'm probably just a conspiracy theorist though. Better go smoke more and think about the lizard people.

The popularity of concentrates is responsible for all of the male jointed pieces. IMO. The necessity to fit with a dome probably started it all. Maybe as Domeless designs and e-nails are becoming more and more popular, the male joints will begin to fade. Who even uses a domed nail anymore?

Yeah, it was definitely dabbing that introduced the male joint to the game, but even on my male pieces I never use the nail directly on the piece. I feel that dabbing pretty much requires some form of adapter between the nail and the rig to avoid stress on the rig. It's one thing if you crack an adapter while you're trying to unstick your dome or nail, that's only $10 lost versus the $50+ (many times hundreds) you stand to lose if you're not using an adapter. Male joints could easily have been phased out years ago and replaced by adapters and female domeless, definitely before many of these DHG sellers got into the game.

Who even uses a domed nail anymore?

I'm an old man who likes his old quartz nail and dome. :myday: Never got into domeless nails, they require too much heat for my taste and why bother with a carb cap when I can just cap a dome with my thumb? I do fuck with honey buckets though, so again, no need for male joints.

I have 2 male pieces that I've kept. One has been sitting in the closet since I got tired of my enail, and when I was using it it had an adapter and a female domeless enail, so no need for the male joint in the first place. The other is a custom rig I picked up in 2012 that has a really unique function that percolates well without any drag or flavor loss, really the only dabbing rig I'll ever need. If you're into dabbing check out Carney Glass if he's still active, he makes awesome rigs at affordable prices. Anyway, back on track, I'm again using an adapter on that piece as well. In this case a male adapter to a small quartz cup and a wigwag dome, but I'd honestly prefer if the rig had a female dewar joint since I'm using an adapter already anyway.

I hate to keep mentioning this but can someone please convince Steven or someone else to make a upgridded bent neck like one on the left of this pic, it's all I want *_*

I'd be pretty down for one of them too :)

Has anyone seen a gridded perc coming out of china yet?

The closest thing I've seen is a matrix perc...

I generally would use my regular Ti nail directly on a male piece.
but for anything domeless (which is all I use anymore) I use a dropdown/adapter :)

I feel you. My first dome/adapter set was super pricey back when I was first getting into it. No local retailers were selling anything for concentrates and the only online retailer I could find was ALT, who definitely aren't known for their low prices. Being new to it led me to make all of the mistakes that go with noobiness which led to permanent staining to parts of the dome and male joint and ultimately a hairline fracture in the male joint and adapter, which was a major blow considering I paid more for the set than many DHG pieces. :bang: So from that point on I've always been super anal about keeping a cheap adapter between my nail and any rig I care about, unless I'm using a honey bucket.

That ALT set also taught me not to fuck with borosilicate nails after the included one shattered while I was heating it and fell onto my bare thigh.

I think part of the reason I moved away from domeless nails is because my girlfriend is accident prone and already branded a nice O on her arm once with one of mine, figured we didn't need to risk more of that. The other reasons I moved away from domeless are that they make you burn through more butane per dab since there's generally more mass to heat, and I tend to be sensitive to the taste of the nail, so generally the larger the nail the more it detracts from the flavor of the dab for me. The downside is that I have to take much smaller dabs or they'll just pool up in the nail and be wasted when I heat it back up. I'm fine with that though as I prefer several small flavorful dabs that feel nice going down as opposed to big harsh dabs that make me overheat and feel head rushed like so many youtube dab kids seem to prefer. My old housemate burnt me out on the big dabs long ago, slow and steady's the way for me. :myday:

The Gordo Scientific Klein clone is supposedly using a gridded inline perc. I cant tell from the pics but it doesn't look gridded. I once saw an inline to ball perc bubbler that had weird criss cross patterns in the inline that were gridded. I can't find it at all on DH anymore which makes me think they used the OG manufacturers picture to pitch their product.

I've been looking for a decent gridded inline for quite a while on DH with no success :/

I recently submitted a design to Steven, similar to what you describe. It has the body of the mini, the 710 perc, and the drop 14mm female joint from the donut. No word yet on the chances of it being made.

The problem that I see with this design is the water level of that 710 perc
likes to be at the bottom of the slanted tube coming from the bottom of the perc. So, bottom line, if the water level is right, there will be water halfway up the MP. Back to the drawing board. Mp. Needs to be much higher above the entire perc.

As @DieHard said - need to raise the height of the can/mouthpiece at least 15% to avoid getting a drink..... otherwise.....

(Bonus points to anyone who remembers the movie
