Another ring on top of the original is another way to rectify this problem.

can i find a ring at a local home improvement store or would i need to order it from zapville? you refreshed my memory about people adding rings to keep it from moving, so i might as well add another to keep it from happening.

should i try warming it back up to see if it becomes firm again before trying to hammer the ring back down?

also idk if this is normal for such a new unit but my unit is only 3 months old. i have been using a "sleeve" on it as of lately and it really brought the temp of the unit up. from a gold abv to a brown abv. could the sleeve have been the culprit? its never taken a fall.

thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Doctor showed up any time now to make a long distance diagnosis and recommendation! ;)

Get in touch with us and we will send you what you need. Rings and a bushing to install. You should not need a second ring at only three months. Just tighten the existing ring as lwein outlined or use a bushing to tighten the entire ring at one time. As long as the center tube has not become unsoldered from the top plate(with 6 holes) you are fine. Just tighten the heatport by tightening the top ring.
Coming up on our 1 year anniversary of having the AZ online store up(7/15). We are going to postpone any party or fun or deals related to that year for a week or few weeks. I am guessing something big is coming down the Zapville tracks very soon but it is a secret cargo and will not make 7/15. Sure, I have a clue and in fact got a glimpse of whatever it is today. Stay tuned.
New walnut blocks in too. They are by far the number one wood choice here in Zapville.

I feel like I just watched a really good trailer to a movie coming up. I love the suspense! Hop on board the Zap train....fun stuff coming up the track!

I am pretty sure I have to get in on whatever it is. I know you need to mom!

One of my special zaps has a rattle today as well. I wish I understood what you meant when you explain how to fix it. Some of us are not so handy.....:(

I will try to fix the ring, but if anyone has advice for me, it is appreciated. Please explain it in LAYMEN'S terms. thanks.

p.s. this is my special mahoe one mom.

Congrats Rick on a year of AZ online. I also feel the suspense as to looming announcement from the zap camp. Only just getting to know my zap, but I am certain we will be the best of friends for a long time!

Everybody could use a tool like this one.. and EVERY vape owner will love this. I just got a fantastic deal on it too. I am extremely pleased with this "find".
I needed a way to clean and soak not only my regular Zap stems, but my AromaZap Glass Tootie as well.
I researched extra tall shot glasses, but the ones that held 3 ounces began to cost alot and all had engravings!
I found that Libby sold Bud Vases, but they were 18 dollars....
I got this item for $2.50! (I ordered 2!)

Thanks for that link Vitolo. Cleaning stems and Tooties is an essential experience in Zapomania. That way they pull like they are supoozed to pull.

I want to thank all out there for the Zap support. We go along, every day, making and shipping Zaps. All that, as cool as it is, is not as important to us as the real people out there sucking Zapville. There are so many with so many words that make us feel so good.
Thank you all so much for making our life so fulfilling and giving us even more energy in our 'late' years.
Many of you are super special with not only good words and support but also inside information that makes us smile so much.
ob, tighten that top clip and all will be good. I think I might have warned you way back when that the Mahoe(from Ed, http://www.edstnt.com/index_files/VaporTokenTubes.htm) is a soft wood so may develop related consequences early in the game. Tighten the heatport and you are good to go. Email me if you have any questions. Denim on! OB
What a fun life. Thank you all.

Thanks rick. I will try to figure it out and if I cant I will email you.

Congrats on the 1 year. It seems like just yesterday that you guys did that. I am so, so happy for you. You are a good guy and deserve all the best. Thanks for being so great. :)

vitolo,
we have not been properly introduced, but thanks for the suggestion. I have been looking for something like that for a while.

Hey all. Haven't been around lately, but hope things are good in Zapland.

At any rate, with it being the summer months and living in NE Pennsylvania, it's naturally hot and steamy, and I've had to have my A/C in my bedroom on at night to sleep (I'm in a third floor apartment). I've noticed that my zap tends to run much cooler when my A/C is having to do a lot of work. Could this somehow affect the voltage pumping to my zap?

I do have a 13v transformer that I rarely use...would this perhaps be a remedy? At least possibly get my zap up to the temps it runs at on the 12v when my A/C isn't in use?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. At any rate, hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Cheers,
J

make your zap a stylish sweater. use a thick sock or beer coozy, cut a hole for your power cable and slip it on. youll be suprized how much warmer it will get.

yes, an air conditioner sucks amperage and voltage from your electric grid. That could drop your voltage, ie Zap heat, to a noticeable degree. You are also dumping cold air in the room. An air conditioner(window banger) will put out air roughly 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the ambient air in the room. That is how it cools the room. To cool to 72 degrees, you need to pump much cooler air in the room than 72 degrees.
Bottom line, hit 'er up with the 13/13.5 or a koozy to compensate for that cool wind blowing from the AC and the extra pull from your electric grid from same.(which can lower the voltage, therefore the heat produced in a log vape)
Power companies love summer more than winter. Way more juice sucked trying to cool us all than heat us.
ob............it'll be good to her from you, zap rattle or no. It is amazing how time flies. But then, what is time?
Right now, this moment, is where it is at.........Holy Cows! I have posted late in the night.............watch out.....I may fuck up..........
Sleep well all...............
edit for:
Thank you gettin. A simple warm coat will get these girls hotter if that is your desire. Hot is cool, especially late in the evening. Bring on the sleepy...................

No matter how many new vapes come to market & no matter how many of them I lust over, zaps will always be my favorite! I'm caving in and buying another one. I just picked up some dank Chemdawg and it put me in the mood to get an intense walnut zap. Another order coming your way Rick! Loving those short stems :D

So ob, does your Mahoe rattle when plugged in? That's a bummer. But I'm sure you will be able to figure out the fix. And as to your staying ahead of me.... Well! We'll just see about that big guy.... Good to have you back in the race.

Vito, that's a great find. I also use a bud vase for the times I clean my glass stems. Works great. And I've found that the plastic 2 oz travel bottle I bought at a local Target works perfectly for the stock stems. The added perk is that both hold the same amount of liquid, so I can just pour the 151 I use back into the plastic bottle for future use.

And lastly, congratulations on your one year anniversary Rick! Boy, this year has flown by! It's been an interesting road, full of twists and turns. So good to see all the Zap love coming your way!

The news from Zapville is that poor Ravin', the Second Life Dark Walnut Zap has been redone...
but has only partially recovered. The problem according to Zapville Head of Surgery, Rick.. is likely due to her "patch". She still functions on a lower heat level, and so.....
Ravin' gets to come home anyway! She will be loved, and used bedside, on my sweet Patty's nightstand!
There she can be seen by visitors as an object of beauty.. and Patty (hates cold) can warm her hands.. and I can Polish her. She will sit with one of LadyZap's mystical aroma flowers, and keep the room smelling nice.
Dr. Rick gave it his all.. and that is appreciated.
I will love her replacement as well I am sure.
But..... even as Ravin' is... her purpose is realized. She like me, DOES have a second life.
In this, my new life I function.. but differently.
Rick... you did give Ravin' a true second life.
She now can be more like me.. and function.. but slightly differently!

Oh Vito, I love your attitude! :D I was hoping she would find her way home to you in one way or another. I'm so glad you decided to keep her. She may not be the "perfect" Zap, but she still has lots to give.

Thanks for the sizzle Vitolo. So good to have you breathing some of your life in our direction..................
Heading out for a day or two down to Moscow, ID. Our youngest son(33) just bought a new home. 6 acres of the famous Eastern Washington Palouse country, 2500 ft house(built mid '60s) and almost 6000 feet of shop space with hydronic plumbed in the concrete floor of the shop. House is also Hydronic and also has wood heat via inserts in a massive brick chimney. $1200/yr taxes BTW. drool on.......... it was right at $250G to buy..........
Anyway, like a dream come true. He is married with a 1 yr daughter. They were in a very small place in town.
Because of that, a few orders I intended to get out Saturday will not ship til Monday/Tuesday. The small stuff will ship but no more Zaps out til early next week.
We also had a priceless summer rain over the last two days. Lots of nitrogen charged 60 degree rain makes for the weed harvest of all time. They slip right out so easily. So I will be on my hands and knees in the dirt for a day or two. Very fun stuff if your head is screwed on like this one. Oh, yes, the produce is liking it more than the weeds for sure!

Today I go to the "Whole Food Store". I want to carry my own bag, to be ecology minded!
The employees are mostly a bunch of old hippies from my era, and the shoppers are quite the "holistic" bunch! They kind of know me there.. (I am hard to miss), and they often ask how my love of vaporization has evolved. What do you think they will think of this?
