Just dropped w9tech from my go to. I'm moving on to better things. Easy simple and discrete. Thank you matt for making my vaping life so much easier. These donuts rock! I do think the fc2000 ceramic should be used on the new donut version so it absorbs more of the wax

I am not using a temp controlled mod. What voltage do you guys usually run the v2.5 Donut at?

Also still looking for any info on disassemble/cleaning and water filtration options. Thanks for the help!

I am wondering the same thing... I have a v2.5 on a brand new eVic VT running at 370 - 390 degrees. The donut doesn't get red hot but I get great large flavorful hits. I do have an issue with leakage though. It doesn't get clogged thanks to the holes on the outside of the ceramic, but I am getting leakage out of the bottom hole that screw into the battery. I think it is from overfilling it though, but I don't add too much IMO. It's too easy to fill it above the two holes in the bowl. They really need to be raised on the V3. Any thoughts Matt on the leakage I'm getting out of the very bottom? I am loading small half pee size dabs of wax/shatter...

So if you don't have a temp Control mod 4.2v is a nice sweet spot for the donut. Or if you have a variable Wattage mod, I personally set it at 13w and just repeatedly ride the button. I highly recommend a temp Control mod though. Your wax will never burn.
As for your previous response about leakage. The air holes must be near the donut because airflow must hit the donut to create vapor. Thus, this is mostly a load and go piece. I personally load a large bb size Shatter. After 5 or so hits I flip the donut upside down while firing it and wiping with a tissue. I'm a bit anal and I'm sure you can get away with plenty more hits before doing this. But by doing this, I never got any leaks of any kind and never had to remove atty to blow from bottom. You may have to heat up your donut. Take it out. Cover side holes and blow from bottom.

I use the pinnacle pro bubbler with a silicone mouth piece off an atmos jewel as an adapter to the top piece of the donut atomizer. I love the 2.5 donut. Enjoy

Haha I just read your episode over on the persei thread. I agree with what you said though. I have always been home team Divine tribe. But to ease your pains a bit. The invader mini was solely responsible for dusting off my Hercules. Makes it a much better experience imo. Set at 200F to load and then set at 330F to take regular hits. No pulsing no guess work. Just ride that button. But you still have to do your cool down draws to prevent leakage. I hate that. If the Hercules is rid of cool down draws. I may use it more but I'm still loving the plug and play 2.5 donut.

I have also left w9 behind and am absolutely delighted with the v2.5. Flavor, ease of use, reliability have all been absolutely great so far. Now I just need to buy the invader mini.....

Damn back to the closet the Hercules go. I was wrong kernel6500. It works great when it works but it jumps out of temp Control mode on the invader mini. More reason why I love the donut so much

My Hercules will not work in temperature mode(Ni200) SX Mini m class, I haven't updated the firmware for titanium yet. So I will try it again when I do update.
I still run my Herc on the SX at 26watts....

@ Matt - any idea of time before the version 3.0 will come out?

I have the same chip in my NicoMod. What did the ohms read when you set it?

My prebuilt Ni coil in my subtank mini reads .16 ohms n I can run temp control.

Also what's this Ti firmware upgrade and how do I get it?!?!

Oops thank you for the remindeOops thank you for the reminder, it read 1.407 ohms and it is now working correctly

The titanium firmware update is available at the yihi website,I'm having issues with the RAR file extractor on my computer, Is the reason I haven't updated yet
I run the RBA deck on the sub tank mini wrapping nickel coils at .067, works great for juice

I've been playing with the Hercules on my invader mini on temp Control or a day now and it works for the most part. Im using the black rod

I heard the yihi chips are having problems with temp Control for ceramic. The Hercules works great on the invader mini. But when loaded at full capacity, it tends to rise in resistance pass the limits of the mod in temp Control mode. I'm still experimenting with it but so far it has been staying in temp Control mode. Only slipped into vw mode on me a few times last night. The Hercules reads 0.77 ohms cold and rises to 0.9 when heated. Anywhere pass 1 and it's pass the mod's limits in temp Control mode. The 2.5 donut has no finicky quirks. It's hands down the best load and go atomizer. The Hercules needs new versions to make it more functional. The 2.5 donut needs new versions just to keep pushing the limits of what is possible

I only have the experience with the Heatvape Invader Mini as my only temperature control mod. But so far it works pretty well with ceramic coils. Better than the yihi chip, surprisingly from what I can tell on here. The invader mini allows me to just ride the button constantly on the Hercules because I'm not worried of overheating the oil. No more guess work. No more pulsing. I still do cool down draws. Not sure if I have to but I hate cleaning out reclaim chamber so haven't tried not to.

The invader mini works great but I also heard of new temp Control mods out there that claim all temp Control chips out currently is inaccurate and that they are coming out with true temp Control and for all wire types, not just nickel and titanium. Keep your eyes out for innokin itc and ijoy asolo. Not sure about innokin but the ijoy asolo has a lot of bells and whistles but costs like $165. I'd never drop that much for a mod. Especially for a no name company. Innokin on the other hand is a reputable company that's making these claims, but price and release date is unknown. Temp Control is still in its infancy any I can only see universal temp Control coming within the next year.

The invader mini with the 2.5 donut and a bubbler attachment is the best, easiest to use load and go atty out there. With temp Control you can control what kind of high you want. There are no sedative effects vaping below 356F. So if you want A couch locker, ramp up the temp. I like low temp. It's flavor all the time everytime

Also as far as I know all temp Control mods at the moment maxes out at 1.0 ohm resistance as the upper range. The 3.7 v black rod is about 0.8 ohm and I think the 7.4v white rod is 1.5 ohms

OK well here's my report on my v2.5 session..
My last post here was all about the v2 ceramic doughnut that I got some time back, and was very happy with it. I used it at 20 watts its entire life and ran MUCH oil thru it. Lasted almost a month until I over-heated it during cleaning. Fried.
So, the v2.5 was released when I needed a new one, so, I got (1) one free one and one I paid for.

Well.
The first one I used at the same old 20 watts as I did before with the v2. This caused the v2.5 to fail within a week, as I went up as far as 24 watts, and cracked the doughnut.

The second v2.5 ceramic doughnut that I got kept at 18 watts and was happy for another week, then it suddenly died as well.

This was way before all this tc talk and instructions about staying below 12 watts.

So, that's my story. I don't necessarily deserve a new one for free, but would welcome it. Otherwise, can't afford to re-invest again at this time....

So yeah keep those babies under 12 watts......

Wow thank you for the data. Exactly what I was looking for. So what I can gather is that the temperature is pretty accurate. I believe we can dial the settings in a bit to get it a bit more accurate. Can you try this please.
The temp Control utilizes the inputted watts to initialize the coil resulting in a large spike in the beginning and then the watts is adjusted from there. What if you try to set it at let's say 13 or 14 Watts. It should bring the max temperature down, thus lower the average temperature. Can you try to see is at 13 or 14 or any other Wattage will result in more accurate readings if possible please

I have a new base for you , but come on bro why so high on the wattage, are you burning bubble hash ? throat hits and flavors must be horrible.

That's my main gripe about the Hercules too. Not too stealthy or convenient to do cool down draws on something that costs $100, you are right. You can get a 601 to 510 adapter at w9 but I know you banished them from your shopping list so check online elsewhere. I also think load and go in the donut conserves more than the Hercules anyway. The herc is just good if i want to take a large hit

@13 watts, the temp reading did not change much. I backed it down to 7 watts and the max temps lowered about 50F but the averages looked spot on. @10 watts, the temps lowered about 20F across the board. IMO the sweet spot is 7-10 watts with the Invader Mini.

Test was once again @ 200F, 300F & 400F. The ceramic disc does not heat uniformly. For the sake of this test, the temperature probe was placed on the same approximate area of the heater element for each reading.

I have not tested with oil in the atty. To be continued...

I think this data shows that the invader mini is accurate. If the average was taken over a longer period of time then the numbers should be more accurate. Personally my hits are at least 30-60 seconds. But no need to do actual test. Having a larger Wattage will skew the averages because it will initially surge the mod with that Wattage to get the donut up to temperature then it tapers off to maintain temp. Meaning a higher Wattage will get you to your desired temperature quicker but on paper it may skew the average temp a bit higher.


So for me data shows 10w as more accurate but in reality any Wattage will generally give an accurate reading I think. So if you have small lungs, you might want higher Wattage to get the Temps up quicker.
Thanx looking forward for more numbers. I wonder if the mod will actually adjust when there's matter on the coils
