Cheap High Quality Bubbler

This actually really bums me out. I've been excited about the binary matrix since it was first released by Mobius, and waiting for the inevitable Chinese knockoff to come around, but I really wish they weren't knocking off the aesthetic of the piece too. Largely because, as much as I have been a Mobius fan for a while I really hate the overall look of the new line. But also because I feel like there's a difference between copying form and copying function. As soon as you start adding flairs to imitate Mobius' style it seems like much more of a straight knockoff to me. I want to be getting a piece that gives me the function of a Mobius design, but I don't necessarily want to buy a poor imitation of his aesthetic. I'd much prefer the perc in a simple straight can, without the additional flair around the top of the can and weird looking mouthpiece. Just my :2c:
I don't exactly dislike the new möbius aesthetics, I'm kinda neutral about it, but I agree I'd prefer it without the flair.

I hope steven doesn't attempt that sipper mouthpiece...
I'd personally rank it at 4th behind
Sidecar, or bubbler,
"Tube" style (straight, bent or angled)
Sipper.

Just got my Straight Fab yesterday. Was super happy till I found a huge hole next to the weld of the perc. (See pic )
It makes it so the back 3-5 perc slits don't fire on a slow pull.
What makes it even worse is, I ordered a fc710 that shipped already. Idk what to do about this. What would you guys do?

Edit sorry fixed pic

Message steven, and just be clear that the item is defective to the point that it is not usable.

I'd want a full refund, or replacement for an issue like that...

Woohoo! Tried out my D020 last night, mightily satisfied - ordered another to gift away.
Something around the same size, except with a detachable stem like the FC-UFO, would be PERFECT for me...
Any suggestion from the glass oracles?

Anyone have problems with dhgate processing their credit card? I'm getting a message saying they can't verify and to please contact my bank or use another card. I know it's not an issue with my card.

Your bank probsbly dosnt release funds to international sellers like china. Mine didnt atleast since its a local credit union. I ended up using a friends BoA but you could try skrillex? Ratchett recomended it.

Yes, it happens to me every time. I just call the number on back of the card to approve the purchase. A couple of times they have stayed on the phone with me while I purchase and they approve the transaction w/ no problems at all.

It's a reloadable prepaid card that I use specifically for online purchases since having my personal banking info compromised two years ago.

I used the same type card for my d20 purchase just 2 months ago without any issues so I'm not sure what's going on.

Wish they accepted PayPal.

The FC-UFO is unique - it's hard to find pieces with a detachable mouthpiece on DHgate. Good luck.

Aside from the strange processing system for handling credit cards (Which takes multiple tries sometimes), I *was* able to use my credit card several times to buy stuff (about 5 transactions over 3 months no problems). Then one day it just stopped working. Few days later my bank called me to say they had blocked several DHgate transactions - I told them it was me.

Wish they accepted PayPal.

Yeah that'll never happen - paypal's policies are far too strict for DHgate. However there is an alternative called Skrill.com which is accepted by DHgate. These days, that's all I use to make purchases on DHgate. Much safer and easier than using a credit card

Finally got it to work. Apparently these prepaid cards have to be registered before one can make online purchases. Everything should be golden now.

Ordered both of these. Now the wait begins!

I got the ash catcher because I'm wanting to keep my bubbler clean when using flower.

I specifically sought out something smaller that wouldn't tip it over.

This is my favorite 18mm AC. Almost paid $99 for one on Ioffer when CCG uploaded it to their store. Nice solid thick glass, build quality was superb - one of the best on DHgate I've seen so far. Although the inline perc is the only one with action - the other two honeycombs act as splashguards

Still on the lookout for a sweet 14mm Ashcatcher

Ratchett,
Your post about yings toro gb-194 is what helped make my decision to go with him over Steven. While Steven makes quality pieces, you stated the design of yings tree perc being closed was far superior and makes it less/non chuggy.

Thanks for your help, man!

Ratchett that looks like a good one I've had an inline perk and it was a pain to clean when it got dirty. How easy is it to clean especially with the 2 honeycombs sealing the one end. I also saw a few people suggest a few drops of cranberry extract to help with keeping the pieces clean.

Deano, that is exactly what I'm looking for, for both reasons. Do you think the tilt will be OK I was wondering that, it looks really easy to clean and maintain.

The reviews I read on other ash catchers were very positive but many stated they can be quite heavy and when paired with a smaller bubbler, if the base isn't weighted and balanced properly, it could tip.

This is mainly why I chose the setup I did. Something with a female joint and a lightweight ash catcher to keep things clean without tipping her over.

Hey guys!
I really like the look of stevens new dropdown beaker. Do you think a lotus would fit there? It looks like it might be too close?

Thats what exactly my concerns with heavy ashcatchers is a friend or someone could be over and bump or tip it and break it. I will definitely be looking forward to buying that soon, here's hoping I get my piece from Kathy.

Cleaning isn't an issue since I do use Cranberry extract at all times. And when it gets real dirty I do a few PBW soaks. Worst I've had so far was some mold buildup from not draining the water properly after cleaning. Had to do 4-5 PBW rinses to get it clean again

Damn you, party liquor
My replacement FC-1000 arrived today. This one is nice. The matrix perc is a bit lower in this one than the other which I take as a plus since the other only had a tiny amount of room before the pillars start. There is one spot on a pillar that I at first thought was a crack but after washing it out seems to just be a thicker ridge of glass. Almost like a sliver of glass got melted to the outside. It's super hard to see. Other than that it seems to be excellent quality. Even the inside of the mouthpiece is smoother. The old one was kinda sharp-ish.
It arrived about 10 days after I got tracking. Definitely my fastest Steven piece.

What kind of cranberry extract do you use Ratchett? Would you recommend store bought from HEB or Kroger? And also what is PBW? Sorry for the noob question lol.

mod note: You've already asked this question in another thread. No cross posting please.

@fernand that water tool looks sturdy. what is it?

It's either a little 14cm wasserapparat. Or a 6 inch waterbongito. I got mine at CBCB in Berkeley CA. FortyFive less 15 percent for good behavior, plus tax for laughs. A very similar device appears on Amazon here. It may or may not be from the very same Chinese factory.

It's not all that discreet/stealthy, but it's rugged, it's versatile, it's stable, and I like it. IMHO it's a good hobby anyone can grow into. Most of its shortcomings can be remedied with the usual adapters. My Solo Gong can't fit until I get a 10 to 14 mm adapter without the big bulge. And I'm still looking for a 10mm Ti nail at an acceptable price, thirty bucks is a lot.

The Plumeveil RDA is good with erl, EJmix or whatever, given the right coils and wicks.

The $25 pre-filled Sapphire carts have gotten a lot better and tastier lately in Medical California. They can deliver a good hit or two upside down off a 150 mAh battery before tipping to re-load the wick. Bubbly yum.
