Discontinued miVape by Vaporfection

This was taken from the only MiVape review out there on vaporizer-review.com:

"While it’s not quite the final production version, it’s pretty close to what will be shipping out in June."

I have no idea what they plan on changing but there is a rumor from vapornation.com that the models they have for display and maybe the one in the review too, are mostly plastic and the production version's silver band around the MiVape and it's hinge mechanism, will be metal....Just a rumor, though I hope its true.
So they're not in production yet shipping this month?

Everything I have seen, shows they are releasing this month, June. According to the ad on vapornation.com and a customer service representative on vapornation.com, they expect to start shipping mid-late June......This was back in May when I asked so I don't know how true that is now. They did expect to ship in May for awhile on vapornation.com and according to Vaporfection but they changed it to June, so hopefully it doesn't change from June to July......

Their e-mail of April 16 said:
Did you pre-order a miVape? If yes, a representative from Vaporfection will be reaching out to you by phone or e-mail to confirm or update your shipping address.
All pre-orders will be shipped prior to the mivape becoming available in May, 2015.

Hoping it will happen soon.

Lmao, soo just like last month (May) when they said it was gonna be released and every other time right before theyve planned to release it over the past 4 years... "they made some more last minute tweaks and its shipping out soon" that was a week ago, and if their past history has anything to say, then its most likely not coming out in June either...

I love the Vivape and I would love to be surprised, but ive finally given up hope... i doubt ill buy this if it doesnt come out in the next 3-4 weeks...

I think they will do it this time. Vapornation is their official distributor so I doubt if a company as big as vapornation would be on board if it wasn't a sure thing....Fingers crossed, I've got mine pre-ordered from vapornation and they just sent me an email stating they were on schedule for Late June and they are including a free gift for pre-orders for the delay.

Looks like Vaporfection has designed a new website and they now have the MiVape on it...Ironically, I think the design of the "old" website was better and more informative than this one...check it out. I wish we were getting more reviews about the Mivape and how well it works with concentrates/wax. Looking forward to getting more info.

I agree, I wish there was more information and certainly more photos of the MiVape.........If its as good as they claim it is, why aren't they showing it off? I also find it strange that there was little talk of the MiVape after the Cannabis Cup in Denver 2015 but maybe it's still early. I have HIGH hopes for the MiVape and I am excited that it offers convection heat and a replaceable battery plus the glass components, so I think at the very least, the MiVape will produce some of the purest tasting vapor.....

Just noticed on vapornation.com that they have posted the MiVape manual........It looks pretty good, I must say. There is even a built-in pick on the MiVape, you can see it in the bottom corner of the unit in the 7th photo (charging port photo) on the vapornation.com ad.

I really wish I knew how much spare batteries cost and knew more abut the mouthpiece/herb cup assembly, if you can take it apart to clean or not.....The manual shows you soak the entire assembly in alcohol so I'm wondering if that will get everything because it looks like there are a few pieces to that assembly where lots of residue can hide.

Also, does anyone know if the dimensions are accurate? 4x6x6 in? That seems big, that's bigger than the Mighty!

Hmmm. Was about to buy a mighty. Then I noticed noone is talking about this yet:

Thank you for posting that .
It looks promising for sure , and IT IS real .

Don't like the fact you have to add cloth , to use concentrates tho .
Maybe it will get messy , if you don't .
And the All glass heater sounds very interesting for flavor .

I will wait for some FC reviews first .

Gahhh. Was ready to press the button on Mighty where I know I cant go wrong. But the curiosity cat is killing me here... that and with the FC discount its only 205... I make excellent videos, I wonder if I can score one for reviewing...

There is a little video on vapornation.com showing how the MiVape works and I must say it looks good. I think it will produce some, of not they best tasting vapor out there, thanks to the quartz components. I have a feeling of u don't start the unit heating with the quartz cup loaded and in place, then it may take awhile for the unit to produce vapor as everything gets up to the right temperature like the video above where Sconsin let's the unit get to temp while he packs the chamber so he has to wait some more after he puts the quartz cup in the heated MiVape.

I am still curious if the silver parts are metal or plastic....

I don't understand why he waits to put in the herb chamber. Seems to me that heating it up with the chamber in place makes more sense.

Also, this device seems to suffer from the Firefly problem: sure it has a replaceable battery, but the battery must be in the device to charge. As far as I can see you can't use it while it's charging either, so that's obviously inconvenient.

The FF actually has an external charger (sold separately, natch). So though you can't use the FF while the battery charges in the device, quite a few of us have the charger and spare batts, which solves this problem.

Yes, I know about the external FF charger, but that's something the miVape doesn't have yet. It solves the problem but my point was that there is a problem to be solved.
