It was the complete opposite experience for me.

Replaced my Solo (which was a replacement of my orginal da vinci) with a Crafty and never looked back.

The Solo was more of a session vape though. Because it eeks the vapor out in small hits (with the stock stem) a smaller amount would last longer in my Solo than slightly more in my Crafty bowl.

But I think my Crafty is 'better'.

Thanks for the input guys. On my solo I would make a little bit go a long way, but I think the crafty can do the same. I ran all my kief through my solo the day before my crafty got here. A day or two of little to no consumption should help me to enjoy the crafty.

Also try packing it down with the Orange tool and use a coarse screen on top of the load to hold it down. I've found this method to work really well in my Mighty.

Just got my crafty back. I sent the box out Monday and got it back the next monday after. Not too bad figuring the weekend was a holiday. They replaced plastic shell completely and looks like that is it. Maybe they did more IDK but it seems to work better now.
I got a free oven screen and oven gasket along with my body work. It pretty much looks new again.

Ohh and:
Combustion sucked while my crafty was out. lol.

What backup you guys have in case the crafty needs servicing?
Was thinking of picking up an arizer air, but it doesn't have charge indicator and the bowl seems small. Sale on the wispr2 but there are some very negative reviews.

The solo would be a good backup that's fairly cheap if you're looking for something with close performance to the crafty. I would also look into the different versions of the flowermate. I've never used one but they're cheap and get good reviews.

Yeah that's why I was looking at the air. Flowermate bowl way too big I would be wasting weed. I would have bought it already if not for that. Yeah I know I'm picky.

Hope this wasn't posted earlier, and if it has been, I didnt see it and apologize. Have you guys noticed that the abv from the crafty doesn't get very dark? The unit will be completely done producing vapor, but itjust seems to have gotten way darker in my other vapes. I also never get that burnt taste from it. I'm not complaining, because my crafty is absolutely my favorite unit so far, just weird to me. Seems to be on all temps too, although I never go over 390.

I would also suggest the solo, it blows clouds on clouds on clouds, but takes longer to finish the bowl then the Crafty would. You could probably find a used one for like $80. Try entexchange on reddit or even on the classifieds here.

If stealth isn't a big issue and you don't go all Frankenstein when seeing flame, the Vapman is an excellent choice. Hits hard and fast and uses tiny amounts.

Maybe not a picky thing but if it's your first time vaping everything probably seems great with taste :nod: compared to that ashtray combustion taste :puke: what we think of as bad taste is still a whole lot nicer than combustion.

The air does have a charge indicator (coloured light flashes when startup to show rough level) and the bowl is smaller but it's more of a sipper than the crafty and better for sessions, also you can change the battery so no sending off (also failure rate is really good, IMO because it's based on a proven design) also the flowermates can use a smaller load just need to tamp it down like with the crafty.

And like @Mr Mellish i can highly (pun intended :lol:) recommend a butane vape whether Vapman, Daisy, Lily or any other good choice, not everyone is ok with butane and that's fine (even though IMO the butane myths are just that...myths)

Also I find my Vapman very stealth :ninja: I can fit Vapman in one hand (totally hidden) and torch in other hand (again hidden) put my hands together click the torch (this is the only not stealthy part for me if area is quiet) then with Vapman hidden in hand take a draw looking like I'm thinking about something.

Is this normal:

When the crafty is plugged in to charge and I turn it on to heat up, the charging icon stops moving(still plugged in).

When charging and the last 1/6th of the battery is flashing (90% charged or so) and I unplug it from charging, the app shows 6/6th battery full.

The crafty does not have true pass through (it uses more power than the charger supply's) what is happening is your charging the battery while using it (not the best thing for the battery) so if using the crafty while charging it won't charge (in that it is charging but also using more charge than supplied) but start to run flat just slower than normal (at the sacrifice of extra stress on the battery)

The crafty can be used this way but IMO should only be used while charging if really needed.

No, it doesn't charge while heating up, it will resume charging when it gets to temp and the light goes green. Will start blinking in the app at that point to show charging as well. Max charge rate is 10w, heater is 27w its a losing battle. I just toss it on the charger whenever its around, usually after every smoke and just forget about charge level all together.

Thanks everyone. No need to heat up while charging/using, just had one nearby. If it really is detrimental to the battery then I def won't anymore.

I agree that the bowl is too big. That's one of the reasons I never bought one to try out. I was considering getting one to use on the go since the solo isn't the most discrete and my davinci broke. I assume you could still load a small bowl in a flowermate though.

Yep, when I went back to smoking last week it tasted terrible. I seriously almost puked. My first few times felt like an old stale cigarette.

I can't help but constantly be disappointed in S&B's customer service. They seem hellbent on making sure it's always at least two week delay to get my device.

Last time it broke, it took them a really long time to turn around the device, and then shipped it USPS, which was reasonably fast. This time, the turnaround was one day, but they decided to ship via FedEx Ground for reasons unfathomable to me. It adds insult to injury that they instruct that malfunctioning devices be sent to them via USPS (or its equivalent in other countries).

I could honestly put up with the device breaking all the time (though I'm less than thrilled that it's breaking pretty reliably) if I could get it back to me within a reasonable time frame, but FedEx is going to take 9 business days for delivery. Meanwhile, last time I requested expedited shipping before they received the unit, and offered to pay extra. They waited to ship it out before responding stating that they could not make any changes once the package had left their hands.

I have nothing constructive to add, other than irritation that they have provided such shoddy customer support. It's like they're trying to ensure I don't get a replacement in a timely manner. I wouldn't be so pissed except for the fact that this is the second time in a row where they've provided such bad service. Guess I'm back to smoking like a peasant until next week.

Other than that, I avoid charging just after I vaped cause the unit is hot and that should be a stress for the battery as well.
As a backup unit I have plenty of, but if I had to buy one, I'd go for a vaporgenie or vapman.
Something that's not tied to a battery.

After my first week of using the crafty, I'm still disappointed. It's obvious that most people with a crafty overhype it. I honestly wouldn't recommend this vape to anyone. If it's in use for 5 minutes or more then it's too hot to charge. It already charges slower than it puts energy out, so the fact that it won't charge when it's warm is pathetic. When people say that this thing can last 45 minutes on a charge, it's closer to 30 minutes. On top of that, my crafty has had Bluetooth problems more than once. It'll just not connect to the app for a day at a time then when I wake up the next day it'll finally work. All of these things are issues that need to be worked out, but I don't want to send in my $350 vape. I bought it to use it. Not have it serviced for 2 weeks at a time. I'm sorry, but you should never have to send in any quality electronic device more than once for a repair. I know I'll be sending this thing in quite a bit. Wish I could just get a refund.
