Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

No clue what I did yesterday
Is there any better deals out there for a 601 to 510 adapter?
Price at w9tech is $16.13 with shipping and handeling fees. Pretty steep for an adapter, but I have a feeling that's gona be cheapest..

Kiss AC dual coil at 7.4 is fucken badass. Plenty of power and can get medicated well. Effective hits. This Kiss AC has earned a spot in the daily drivers of my fleet. For quick sessions and quick hits the AC comes out. The Hercules SR71 for everything else. Love how the kiss AC is pretty small. I Like the 8 with my kiss AC combination. For the SR71 my persei/hammer top NEVER fails.

I recently tried to place an order with W9tech and I got told by the order system that I cannot place an order (I have ordered before). I created a ticket at W9tech and they can see I have a problem but no one knows why or how to fix it. This is the message I get when I try to checkout my order "Unfortunately one or more items in your cart can't be shipped to your location. Please choose a different delivery address."

Has anyone else had issues ordering. I am assuming this is mainly an issue for people outside the US.
I am ordering from the Netherlands.

I have been trying to use the rebuild kit. I have made one coil successfully but I have already run out of parts to make another (the little golden clamps, if you make a mistake then you cannot reuse them). The Ti wire is very difficult to wind as it has memory. When I was making coils before you could give it a quick blast with a blow torch to "fix" the shape but with Ti this does not work (tried it and got a very bright white light!).

I know everyone points to Diehard's post on rebuilding (thanks for that) but I think many of us could do with more detail.

@ScienTiFiC: The fact that the 1701 is completely rebuildable is often touted but I have never seen the ceramic disks on offer. When will we be able to purchase just the disks?

I agree that my rebuild post is dated, and I did not use the kit. I have the kit, but never got around to using it. The price of the KISS carts and Globe Coils went down cheap enough for me not to justify the time investment for rebuilding. Although in a pinch I would still rebuild. I think a jig to wind the wire around would help. Like this one maybe. I have not tried these but looks helpful.

I've gotten this error a few times and I think it has something to do with pc security I had to order with my phone or I'd get that error until I reinstalled windows now I can order on my pc again I guess if possible try a different pc or a phone/tablet

lonelyhero,
But it reduces taste as you continue to use the load as well what we found out in our in house testing as you can see.
Yeah, but for those of us with underwhelming cloud production, it could be a godsend. I see why you're not touting it as revolutionary or even evolutionary, just an offshoot -- but for a significant number of people (9/20 is barely a minority, that's a nearly half the user base tested!) this offshoot may still end up pretty popular.

Btw, does this taste loss as you use the load indicate that to maintain flavor, we should clean more often?

How does the Hercules have underwhelming cloud production? What voltage you using it at and length of button press?

I'm going to get on the phone with Sam tomorrow and make sure it's not just user error. I've never gotten more than two or three good hits in a row without having to fiddle with it some more. I thought finally going to the 71 over the 74x would fix my issue, but it doesn't seem to have. I've tried my 8 and my Persei, w/ old style AWs, new AWs, the core @ 6.8-8.2 and only been able to get one or two hits before it just gets hot without giving clouds. I've tried putting less oil in, more oil... I'd just given up on them and been using my dual coil for the AC. Now that it's dead, I have to spend more time with the herc's, and I'm having a rough time getting either (74x and 71) to operate reliably. One hit, then out like a light isn't doin it for me. Over the weekend, I cleaned them both, reassembled, checked for short, loaded, got a hit, then could no longer get any vapor. Both units. Nothing in reclaim, units just get pretty hot and I get no vapor. Started using the AC donut Friday night, to hold me over until tech support is open tomorrow.

I had similar problems with my 74x when i first bought my persei/herc and found i wasnt tightening the nut enough to hold the rod in place and as it heated it would move just enough to lose contact i also hated the spring loaded center pin the 71 press fit has never failed me also if you have the solid screw contacts in your bottom adapters id suggest backing them out just a bit and see if you get better performance i had to do that before either of my hercs would fire on my 8 properly

I have adjusted the screws a few times. I stop when I get a good hit, but when I try again later I get jack and have to try readjusting everything. I'll mess with the nut again, as well.

your issue is most likely rod placement, can you show me a image of how you have the rod placed? i need a side shot.

Wow, it's been months since I've posted anything on this thread. But the Herc SR-71 has provided continuous service, outlasting two dispensaries here! My only secrets are to store on its side and not fiddle with the bottom connectors once set. It's really performed top notch.

My SR71 is 100% cloud machine everytime. Even with low batteries my SR still produces clouds. For me the hardest thing was inhaling technique. People are always amazed how much clouds this machine produceS. I can hot box a car with 4-6 hits. Gota seal your lips on that Herc mouthpiece to get the clouds out. Lol

ragnorokk,
Still curious why my AC coils are dying on stand by..
If I were to guess, I'd say ridiculously hot metal cooling off = cracked wire. That was the assumption I made for mine, since I felt like the Persei @ 7.4 was juicing it pretty hard. I also complicated things with a QWISO run at some point, which you haven't mentioned performing. My dual ran a few times after QWISO, then just failed to heat up some time later, after it had sat for a bit.
