Sorry bout posting here. I was unaware of the myrtlezap thread. Anways I have been using the glass tip instead of the plastic ones but it didn't do anything to help. I have not tried putting it through my bong so ill guess ill do that. I see how it would work... but im not going to lie, i liked the zap by itself. The whole vape-to-bong thing just seems like a big setup if you smoke a lot.

Yea, the regular stock stems go DIRECTLY into a 14mm female joint, which seems to be the most common size.

Not hard at all, I do it with my PD all the time which is similar in a lot of ways, and its not difficult or anything if you have the right setup.

Experiment with filtered water and different temperature water, cold, room temp, warm, just dont go too hot, some people will recommend "hot water" but TOO hot will only hurt more then help, but warm water works quite well!

good luck! and if you can, take a short break just to prevent any irritation for a bit, even a couple of days would help.

Also try loosening your lip lock around the stem as you draw to mix in more air with your vapor. Recently it seems the vapor has been making me cough a lot, even with small hits. The above suggestion helped me greatly.

If you still feel like you need to sell it, and after you've been here a month and made at least 10 posts you can try to sell it in this thread:

Thankfully, that's an easy thing to replace Terror! Could have been worse. I've been worried about that same thing with my dog, who will eat anything. Fortunately, he's shied away from anything electrical!

Damn! And I just put an exception in our guarantee for customers who let their little animals roam the house for 'freedom' but the little darling consequently chews the transformer wire!
You can splice them back together maybe or cut the cord back to clean wire and splice another wire from a defunct/not used transformer, etc to whatever is good. Just two wires and it does not even matter if you get them hooked back the same polarity as the transformer is AC(alternating current).
So yer little chinch has the run of the house? Does the little guy sleep with you? What do they eat besides electrical cords? Was the unit on when he did the deed? Does he now have a new sparkle to his coat?

ahh..damn the animal exceptions
its still working now but i think ill splice in a new section later today, so i dont wake up to find it cold sometime.

he sleeps in his cage but i let him out to run around, or he just likes to hang out on my lap and eat weed stems sometimes. besides electrical cords..today he tried to eat my desk, my arm hair, and the computer mouse..haha you get the idea. but seriously he likes sunflower seeds, raisins, hay, weed stems.

it was on but i dont think he got shocked, he only chewed on one of the wires, and i caught him pretty quick.

but ironically enough he does have a new sparkle in his coat, i gave him a dust bath right after it happened. :brow:
Chinchilla Dust Bath not my video, but its always fun to watch a chin take a bath.

 Totally off "topic," but when the kids were young, we had a guinea pig deposited on our door step. We called her Munchie. She used to chew through the phone cord on a regular basis.
And no....she didn't get to have full run of the house; just the kitchen on what was supposed to be supervised occasions. But you know kids!

It's a real bummer finding a cold Zap. Interestingly, my friend (who now has my walnut Zap) has been having that problem lately too. Seems like after a year or so, the wires in these transformers start to weaken and I'm pretty careful with them (as is she). I'm wondering if it would be significantly more expensive to get adapters that have a thicker cord? Again off topic, but sort of on, the power transformer for my LB has a similar cord on it's transformer. I'm a bit concerned about that having a problem in the future too.

wow..how weird mom. someone really just left it on your doorstep?

so after Gizmo chewed the cord i put him back in the cage, and i gave him a little stuffed hedgehog to chill with, and now hes snuggled up taking a nap with it :)

anyway, sorry im done de-railing

Yeah Turkey, they just left it. Back then, we had all kinds of little critters, and all the neighborhood kids knew I was a soft touch. ;) May I never clean out another hamster cage again!

Cute pic!

Thanks so much for trying to post the pic.
I am the culprit here because I told timmer to post a pic or even verbal description of what happened and I would replace the wood that got chewed. I just thought it would fit the Chinchilla story and also was quite a story by itself. I suspect she went after the bottom end because of the leather. Dogs like leather to chew on.
Anyway, send the Zap back and we will make it like new. Send me the pic via Email just for the heck of it..........

is anybody else having a problem with the zap's heatport losing heat? i noticed recently it's been running at a lower temperature and the buds are much less toasted now compared to before. is it dying?

another thing to consider combusche, is the ambient temperature.

the seasons are changing, depending on where you are located that means different things. is the weather getting colder where you are? or, have you turned an AC unit on because it is warmer outisde?

have you tried other outlets?

just some things to consider before spending your money. if not, rick posted the link above for you!

yeap i just tried taking another hit and it's pretty much dead. it's weird, the outside of the zap feels a little warm, nothing quite out of the ordinary, but it's no longer drawing heat. i usually vape through a bong, but now only a very very thin tasty vapor comes out, it's currently drawing like 10% of the usual vapor cloud so i'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with climate, etc.

rick, is it really just the transformer? or could it be the heatport itself?

alright, i just bought the transformer kit. i hope that fixes the problem..

actually... i just realized i may have wasted that $8. i realize i have already tried the zap with another transformer, same result. so i'm guessing changing the head wouldn't change much. so sad... i loved my zap - and so did all my friends who have never seen anything like it.

i've been using the zap for more than a year, and it is only now that doing the same thing is yielding drastically different results

maybe 1 out of ten times in will be in the Zap(or any log vape) and that is a very big stretch favoring the transformer wire.
Do you have a car adapter? If so, try the Zap on that with the car running.
Almost always it is the transformer WIRE RIGHT NEXT TO THE OUTPUT PLUG, not the transformer itself.
Your symptoms are classic. It may even get hot intermittently....still.....
