Thanks man.

I bought the dropdown, claisen and stopper on Ebay.

I am using 6 and it roasts very nicely.
I will do a pic of the ABVs at different levels at some point.

Thanks i didn't think to search claisen..
Dumb question but is the 19/22 the same size as 18mm?

canj00digit?

All my days in a daze...
I always rocked 5.5-6 for flowers myself :D

I always have liked a dark roast and have nudged up to 7 a few times but it's on the edge of scorching at that level.

Yes the first number in scientific joint sizes like 19/22 is the internal diameter and the one we're interested in. For our purposes 18=18.8=19

I personally use level 8.5 for everything, that's the very last step before the material lights on fire. My controller was always pretty spot on with the temps and at that level I get AVB that looks like coffee grinds. Seems to have a bigger punch at those higher temps and ensures 100% extraction. Probably way too hot for most other users but I've gotten accustomed to higher temp vaping.

Speaking of Aussies and sub spoons, that's ironic, I'm part Aussie and I've been using the espresso spoon in my last pic for a while lol

At the moment I am running at full tilt. 12 all the way.
I am hoping that as daily temps rise I might be able to drop down a little before I burn something out.
BTW DHG WOL taurus rocks with the sub.

wait wut, ur running ur sublimator at 12 for flowers? so your smoking? lol, like I dont think enrico even advises for you to run in 12, its just the temp you run at the start to burn off for an hour.

Yeah, to need to have it 12 all the time sounds like possible issue with the unit.

I have crept up to 7-7.5ish for flowers. I do like them dark.

Yup gotta echo that if you are doing 12 with flowers they should be well and truly combusting.

@4tokin Sounds like your heater has had issues mate.

I do sometimes wonder whether the heater used in the sub is pushed a bit further than the manufacturers (as in of the heater component, not the Sublimator guys!) intended it to be...

After all, there were problems early on with subs having heater issues resulting in warranty replacements until Enrico brought in the timers (according to Enrico), which prevent the heater from being left heating so long and wearing out so quickly.

I wonder if the timer was a stop gap fix and if a more heavy duty heater should have been used?

All day every day. 3 tokes per load the 3rd being long and slow. It gives a pretty dark roast.

@herbivore21 I think we only pushed yours to 8ish if I remember but those days where warmer than what I am dealing with here. I keep the house around 15-17 degrees so that may play a part. I doubt I could run those temps in mid summer.

Don't worry it runs hot. I have the scars to prove it.

If these things cant run at 12 he should have limited the power to 10.

I do like to run my vapes hot.

Oh that cold air conditioner sounds like it could account for the heat needing to be so high ;)

I did flowers on a few occasions at 9 or even 10 (generally only with air conditioner on actually). Still I didn't tend to push the sub too hard with flowers much, this is true.

Enrico definitely says in a few videos that you should not use setting 12 except for the initial burn-off. I do think the power should probably have been limited, perhaps to 11 which I found was still worthwhile for high temp dab enthusiasts or people who just don't want the head on their sub heater to have deposits of old non-vaporized oil build up and carbonize in the nooks at the bottom of the unscrewable 'head' of the heater.

No AC here, it's mother nature.

Don't get me started about the need to clean a new unit.
Oh wow! That is frosty stuff!

haha tell me about it my friend, I spent like a solid hour and a half heating off my Sub at level 12 before all of the manufacturing oils boiled off!

No frost yet. It just means you put a jumper on.

In town they are getting sub zero's overnight, but I have a little elevation which is good for 5/6 degrees

The 1.0 Sub's were supposed to max out at around 50 or 58 watts cant remember its been two years. My timer box model was hitting about 62 watts in the first burn off. Two months later maxing out at 38 watts.

Enricos introduction of timers did not fix the burnt out heaters in 1.0s. After he introduced the timer box there were still problems.

There are people with non timer 1.0s that have been on for year

The 1.0 is on its way home now. Might have tom!arrow. Need to finish cleaning the atomizer to 100% clean PBW time.. Really looking forward to cleaning off all those manufacturing oils again.

I am waiting on a wattmaster to get to the bottom of my heat issues.
I need to know whether it is ambient temps or a faulty unit.

Have you been using the same setting since the Sub arrived?

Yes
But as I said previously I do like to run my vapes hot.
Logs with burnt out resistors LSV maxed out so hot it couldn't be held. You get the picture.
ABV is a poofteenth away from being ash.

The sublimator provides a different experience then a high temp Evo correct?

Ive been MORE THAN READY to purchase but just can't convince myself that a different vape can provide a different high..

Who can help with my dilemma..

My limited experience with the evo was kinda meh.
But it was from the malfunctioning early intl batch...

IMO (but a current evo owner can probably help a bit more), the evo has a slight edge to flavour, at the cost of extraction speed (I could never 1 hit an elb - either I had to pack too much to be able cash it in one hit, or I could cash it in one hit but the vapor wasn't as thick as it could have been.)

I believe you can do 1 hits with the evo but its easier and has less draw resistance with the sublimator, imo the evo tastes better compared to the sublimator and in some cases my cloud plus works better than my sublimator for certain herbs. They are both great vapes with their own percs, Sublimator will be a lot harder to break but evo is a lot more user friendly and your not going to really risk burning yourself on it.

Its decided then. Im placing an order for the Sub

If i get a crave for the full flavor ill bust out the Evo and do some lo temp rips

But I really just want the super potent hits.. Fast extraction/less resistance is a big bonus too

Thanks helpin me pull the trigger. I'm itchin to get these hands on it :freak:

Since I have been using the sub I am noticing that I am not getting the reclaim build up on my glassware that I have got in the past with other vapes.
I get more ABV dust than reclaim.
