Fwiw, I think the other 3 vapes that have vibration feature are Storz and Bickels Mighty/Crafty and the new installment of the Puffit (after Puffit and Puffit-X) called P2.

Thanks. Like I said, the reviewer said there were a couple others but didn't name them.

Somehow now I like it even more to know it's running in such fast company with S&B........ And for $125 no less?

Nice to see that you got a working one of..I recieved a broken one that had the same issues as one that stickstones recieved..I Def had much better luck with my imag and fm mini..

Bummer that. But since I bought it from Randy and knew good performance was possible (both from the happy campers on this thread and of course the personal report of Sinclue) I had no fears there. If/when I have a problem, I got Randy in my corner. This is the guy that sends replacements out the day you report problems.

What I am a little worried about is the single report of a runaway, but I think that risk is small indeed and hopefully easily mitigated.

Pulled the trigger. We'll see how it goes! Will report after a little time with it.

Excellent. I hope you enjoy it, I sure am.

Best wishes.

Sent mine back to VapeWorld for repair or replacement. Wanted to take it to the beach next week but doesn't look like that's gonna happen...oh well, have to make do with the Air :\.
This thing is just so darn convenient. I miss it already.

Air as a backup? Excellent planning. While you might be inconvenienced using Air instead, IMO it's far short of a handicap.

And the trip is saved!

Wise owners have a reliable backup for all mission critical equipment.....and it seems you're a wise guy?

Enjoy the beach, it's a treat to have a good one handy for sure.

Well, actually I'm a wise girl .
The Summit was supposed to be the backup for the Air!

Now that's just plain silly.....who ever heard of a wisegirl? Wiseguys? We got more of them than you can shake the proverbial stick at......

Funny how that works out, isn't it? Ironically it was for a while (at least in theory), and can go back to being so again soon? The important point you can still avoid the urge to revert to blazing.

Best wishes,

Yeah, wise girl does sound stupid, but wise woman sounds pretentious. Just don't call me a Made Man!:disgust:

In any case, guess what appeared on my doorstep today? A replacement Summit! What a pleasant surprise. I had spoken to Kevin at VapeWorld a couple days ago to see if turnaround could be expedited, and after consulting with the repair dept., regretfully said he doubted they could turn it around before we leave on vacation next week.

All I can say is kudos to whoever made this happen at VapeWorld! Big up on the customer service. You have gained my trust.

I gotta say vapeworld did me an absolute solid on this..I bought the summit from my lhs one day when I was bored (I was supposed to meet up with sticks and get my minivap but had work issues and thought I couldn't make it so I bought this at a jacked up rate..200 let's say..I know how dumb and they don't offer refund or exchange) so my luck it doesn't work and problems from start ad I've detailed previously..so I contacted vapeworld who does the rma for summit and explained them situation and they said send it in but I had already decided I wanted a different unit..I guess was turned ed off but was told when I sent it because I used it there wod be restocking g fee of up to 50 percent and top it off what I paid from my lhs I was about to lose big time but still better than broken unit..or I could get the summit..but I went with store credit well one week after process started I got full refund according g to their price..no restock fee..super awesome in my book..will support them in future..

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Yea I had a similar offer with Vapeworld, which I've detailed on this thread. This is after purchasing my Summit directly from Vapium. Which made it even more unusual. It was actually when Vapeworld was just starting to work their Warranty arrangement with Vapium and I was on the phone all weekend with all the reps from Vapium and Vapeworld handling my single RMA. During the second RMA, The vapeworld rep seemed more interested in finding a vaporizer I wanted, then handling the details of the warranty. Which helped me feel less pressured into a bad purchase. Glad to hear they are still honoring that and tried to help you. I had to return RMA my Summit 4X! But the replacement I have now has been solid, Although I almost used my credit towards an Arizer Air during the second RMA.

Am I reading and understanding that you have sent it in 4 times under warranty?

Yea, I bought this when it was still considered a new product. Mentioned some of the RMA's and other info here in this forum. Now I am just started to recollect a little more of what went on. The first time was a bad gasket that melted after I test heated up the unit. So that went back the next day. The others two were bad boards. First one of those, bad early on. Sorry I should have said 3X RMA with replacement #4. #4 is still working OK. But I use it a lot less. Not giving up on the Summit yet. But any improvement on the electronics end would help me make a recommend. Still a bargain at $150.00, Good hit and run vape. Generally low maintenance. But I would keep that packaging ready for some of the other problems that I and apparently others are having. I am so glad they went with Vapeworld for the whole RMA process. That took out a lot of the sting and time that would have been wasted on waiting for a return. And I would not have stuck it out for the replacements.:peace:

Gentle Friends,

Here's a 'peek under the hood' for those interested in such things:
V0pqdKL.jpg

The 'Go Button' has two switches with the LED that lights the button on the right end on the center line. Below (meaning left....) of that are the four LEDs for status and the + and - keys and finally the bowl. You can see the edge of the battery below the main circuit board (there are 3 boards). It's a 16500 rated at 1100mAh. That's a pretty unique 16500, not the very common 15500. It sits off to one side so the SS tube from bowl to MP can pass by. There are ribbon cables on the far side connecting to the PCB below. And a smaller one coming off to the left to the small PCB between the main board and the bowl.

The second photo shows the board and bowl:
u51LR09.jpg

You can see the motor driven vibrator on that board. Also there's a rectangular black IC between the motor and bowl again on the center line? That's the sensor that detects the cover being on (or off). Notice the hatch has 3 magnets but the body only 2? That is the well where the magnet in the lid enters is not magnetic, the 3rd magnet on the lid is not for a latch but rather for a no contact, no movement switch.

It's also worth noting that the bowl itself is quite thin. This explains the rapid heat up and cool off.....IMO a neat feature. There's a black gasket missing from the photo that you can see from the hatch to help seal the gaps and keep bud out of the works.

All in all a neat product IMO. You can see the cell phone influence and appreciate how much is involved in making a quality product that performs so simply. Lots going on to make hot with basically a single button.

Happy Independence Day to one and all.

"Do they have a Fourth of July in England?". Yep, comes right after the third, same as here.......they got a 5th and 6th too......

OK, Gentle Friends, new topic: The 'Battery Meter'.

The manual says we get a flash in white indicating the battery level. The steps indicate 5, 15, 50 and 75% charge remaining when lit. With advice to recharge when two or less show.

So I ran mine down until I got angry red flashes on the Go button then used my 'integrating current meter' (logs mAh delivered over time) and watched it recharge. It should be noted that even though the battery is labeled 1100 mAh, a full charge is really 700 mAh. Not only is the claimed 1100 likely not possible (in my experience it seldom is....) but the vape by solid design avoids using the full range to get reasonable battery life. Avoiding the top 10% or so and keeping a wider reserve (to power that angry flashing for instance) can increase lifespan on the battery many times. From say a year to a few years?

Anyway, my experience didn't 'jive' with this scale, 1 and 2 lights seemed a greater percentage of the total than 1/7 of the total. The numbers I got were 130, 415, 625 and 700 mAh for the lights. Now this is a relative measure (which I think is accurate) and more testing is in order. For instance a light might mean a different thing on charge than discharge, but as a percentage of the total (700) that breaks down to 18, 59, 89 and 100%. Which is a much better fit to my 'seat of pants' observation that 'half or more of the useful life is with 2 or 1 lights' and 'there's a lot of use in one light', far more than the 5% and 15% claimed.

1. 130mAh; 05%; 18%
2. 415mAh; 15%; 58%
3. 625mAh; 50%; 89%
4. 700mAh; 76%; 100%

Anyone else consider the 'meter' wildly inaccurate (use count wise) from the claims?

TIA

I had to send mine back today. It started overheating when I put it to charge and the hatch and chamber became deformed. Their customer service was a breeze and VapeWorld will be replacing it.
So until it gets back, let's just call it a tolerance break.

Is there any other unit that matches its utility factor?
EDIT: I'm eyeing the grasshopper once it become retail

relatively speaking. It's made out of otterbox material, it's meant to sustain some adversity.

I agree. I can't think of any 'advanced' vape (one with intelligent electronics aboard) that is any tougher? Vapes like VG and Cera might survive rough treatment better but they have much less as risk. It's certainly no slouch.

Can anyone suggest a more rugged vape in this class?

I'm a little concerned that we now seem to have two 'runaways' WRT temperature? Failures to not turn on or charge (and similar) are not in the same category I think.....more on the level of a concern or inconvenience as opposed to a threat. The fellow with the melted hatch, and the one the other day where it started making vapor in his pocket is a more pressing concern. It bears keeping an eye on it I think.

Would the hammer qualify as a comparable?

Not in my book. Clever perhaps, but not all that intelligent. No temperature control, for instance. No electrical magic (no, I don't count the striker....).

It is fast, of course, but then you have a hot stem to deal with for a bit? So I think it's slower overall in 'back in your pocket' time? I see Hammer as being more like Vapman I guess? Or VG?

Besides in my book the stems are weak, I've broken two. One in handling off the vape. OTOH the only Solo/Air stem I've broken I did cleaning with a brush that didn't make the turn very well. And they get used lot more than Hammer these days. It was of course my PVHES......
