Cancer Question

Asking for a friend of mine since ive never been through chemo and such therfore only have so much to offer in my experiences with MJ in managing other health issues.

My friends has stage 4C liver cancer and this week began experimental chemo and increased radiation treatments. First infusion was yesterday doctors said to anticipate side effects to begin in the next 2 or 3 days. He already had a fair amount of pain just from the lesions causing liver swelling and they told him to expect itching, ulcerations of his skin and digestive tract, increased pain, nausea/vomiting, kidney damage, fatigue, and all that usual nasty stuff you get my trying to balance the line between killing cancer and killing you.

I mentioned RSO to him and the strains ive been through for nausea but after that im a bit lost on what else may help his quality of life. Any input for what to look out for is welcome. He is near San Fransisco so should have a good variety with all the growing and reasearch going on up there. I sent him the info on what he needs to get a card and get started and designating a caregiver. Im hoping to compile a list for him since his last experience was recreational and in the early 70's.

Turkey Tail mushrooms are powerful medicine for this kind of thing. Possibly Lion's Mane as well. Predominant in woodlands throughout the world, Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is one of the best-documented mushrooms in medical research. With a wide spectrum of beneficial properties, Turkey Tail shows much promise in supporting the immune system with its protein-bound and unique polysaccharides.

Paul Staments is one of best mycologists in the world. He runs Fungi Perfecti up in Washington and if you contact them they can help guide you I hope. Look around the site, lots of info and books. I'm just getting started on this journey myself.

Thank you @t-dub ill pas sit on to him. Not sure what his doctors will be ok with since his protocol is still experimental but without treatment he would have about 3 months so why not try? He was mostly without any symptoms till a few months ago never knew how bad of shape his liver was in :(. He is in a research field so he will eat up that link ill send that along as well.

Feeling really down my friend passed the way this morning :(. It was very fast i didnt get to see him but from his e-mails it seems he found some symptomatic relief along the way before he got worse. thanks for the contribution @t-dub
You have my deepest sympathy. So sorry you had to experience this. Be strong and take joy in life this holiday weekend. Surround yourself with love and hold dear the people you care for. Tell them you love them for life is but a fleeting puff of vapor dissipating into an immense and ancient cosmic background.

@GenYHippie I am so sorry for your loss.
At least he didn't suffer long.
I sat by my mom's bedside for 3 months it was horrible to see her suffering and getting worse everyday.
They are happier now and at peace.

Be well and let's vape one for all that have passed...

I'm sitting hear now remembering yelling at hospice nurse to give her another dose of morphine.
