However the chemical brothers were outrageous on TV

No it wasn't. That was Motörhead

And to be honest I try and avoid the main stages as much as I can. There's so much more wierd and interesting shit to see elsewhere . . .

:mental:

Anyway, it sounds to me like you and the good lady are over due for a return trip? Yes yes.

Holland for the TDF this weekend you say? Now if I didn't already know that I can't get out of work I just might have considered it. Although seriously, just thinking about it could get me in to so much trouble right now & I'm really easily led - especially where there's the remote possibility of a party, so let's not even get started!

But a Vapman FC meet up has definitely gotta happen at some point with at least some of y'all . . . somewhere . . . somehow! :hmm:

Man let's fuck combustion and these damn logistics! :science:

So much love for the little Man!

Hello everyone!

We are faced with a real puzzle, we can`t find the defect on the faulty station, really not!
The defective station is functioning perfectly well since it is back in Switzerland. The station is
at the technical college standing on the desk of the person who did the whole electronic set up
and he doesn`t know what else he could do to find the source of the incident we had.:hmm:

To change the subject, here are some ebony vapman (basic models) I like to show you.
After all these years, I still like each vapman I make, this is some kind of luck.:)

Of course, what did you really expect? The HS 'always works fine'. Aside from a random pass element/switch (the part that actually turns the heater on and off) failure is almost certainly tied up in some subtle software issue. Serious simulations may be the only way to tie it down. It could also be power related, even RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) unique to the the owner's condition. Murphy will insist that it be obscure, as is his nature, if he gets a chance. Beta testing is done to uncover just this sort of stuff, solution comes usually from 'Root Cause Analysis'. That it nailing the exact problem down.

The best solution may be in software/hardware protection. The vape needs to 'fail safe'. For instance a hardware fix that times out on applying heat in a second or two unless reset by the processor. If it turns the heater on, does some housekeeping, monitors the temperature rise, then shuts the heat down when the magic level (or time) is reached you're open to the processor 'hanging up' and leaving the fire on.

As we used to say in similar situations, "If it was easy, we'd have the janitor do it".........

IMO the product is sound and very useful, there's just a gremlin lurking in there somewhere. Not to offend the unknown consultant but this might not be a job for an Academic. It's not the sort of experience they usually have. IMO you need some serious 'design review' to go with the failure analysis. Not a common skill set.

I hope you keep after it, the goal is worth having I think. As they say, 'the risks are high, but so are the rewards'.

Best wishes, we're in this too.

OF

Edit: I should also have mentioned this is not unique to the HS, there's a single report of a Summit run away. The fellow 'shut it off' and put it in his pants pocket and went inside the PO (?) to feel the heat and find 'vapor pouring out the vents'.

As we push for shorter and shorter times we need more an more power that can cause serious problems if it 'gets off the leash'. Having the throttle stick on your new Lexis is a lot more exciting than on a '73 VW bug.......

But I like it!
Keep testing all the strains all the time. Get testing teams running in shifts around the clock, testing strains took failure. I know a few people that will take the first 4 weeks of shifts - when can we fly to Switzerland guys? As soon as I find my passport I'm on my way!

Just kidding. But it would be awesome to get an 'Official Vapman Tester' T-shirt... Since I couldn't get a Motorhead T-shirt at Glastonbury this year.. Sniff...

I miss my vapman. I've moved to Canada and am currently using a vg coil (cheap, easily accessible, unbreakable) but its just not as great as my vapman. Looks like I'll be ordering another vm once I've got a permanent address. It's just the best vape ever. Long live the vappeople!

Sorry for this, I previously and mistakenly used the "image insert" button, now I know.
Finally, here are the two pictures of the basic (no mica heat shield) ebony vapman. Some classic ebony vapman will follow.:)

@OF Thank you for your input about the station, we seriously consider all you said!

I'm glad the heat station is not having more issues which is awesome but what continues to baffle ME is what happened the day that it malfunctioned and I did nothing out of ordinary..I brought it into my living room and plugged her in and went thru normal step and packed up my vapman and was wondering why I wasn't getting my indicator light and I remembered how it had thrown me the blue light the day before and I had to unplug to get it to restart..and no I looked at post and it was glowing orange (up under where u sat the vapman down or I wouldn't have sat it down on it)and I couldn't remember if was always glowing while it was on and heating?and I sat my vapman on it and it felt like soft??and when I pulled it off I realized it had melted..I'm ready to redeem t and get my heat station back .as of stated it's not the first vape to have an issue..anything g can have an issue..even the most perfected device or item in the world..I'm know rene is making sure it is 100 percent safe..doesn't change that I feel like absolute crap.

Cool to see the vapman at glasto, I was there too but being my first time there I was too worried about security and didn't wanna take my stash/vape in case they took them, people had been going on about sniffer dogs and all sorts. Turned out security basically didn't exist when we arrived xD so hopefully I'll be able to return with my vapman next year

Thanks to the guys a few pages a back for the tip on unscrewing bending the spring arms back into place to tighten the deal with the mouthpiece, worked great. I was wondering if anyone had tips for cleaning the metal bowl section? I was gonna clean with isopropyl alcohol and give a thorough rinse which is what I do with the screen, concentrate trays and plastic mouthpiece.. But I can't get it detached from the wood as even when unscrewed the 3 tubes get stuck and prevent it being removed. And I wouldn't wanna spray it while attached for fear of damaging the wood, and I don't wanna get the wood wet so it'd be hard to rinse the Iso off (can't be good to inhale surely? Idk). So basically if anyone has any tips that'd be great, as the build up of dried hash gunk is starting to make the concentrate trays harder to remove.

I have to say though I love this vape, such a beautiful design combined with effectiveness and also a fun/involving user experience. The MFLB came close but it's still lacking something, and the only other vape I've had was a pax which was just eughh. Surprised how fantastic it works with just hash layered onto a screen too, and how much more you can get out of the material. I can't imagine any other vape working very well or even at all with traditional hashishes like these. Love this thing, and I can definitely see myself investing a vm station when the final version is finished

Magic markers are what a lot of people have been using. Have a search in this thread plenty of people getting great results. Ive used a bit of iso on a q tip before. Also easiest way to clean the concentrate screens is to simply torch them.

Hi @vapman - here I am also scratching my head trying to figure out what might've gone wrong with the stations ...could it possibly have something to do with a slight difference in our electrical outlet outputs here in the USA and elsewhere, whereas when they return back home to you they work perfectly again? Thanks!!! You are AMAZING!!!
