this vape looks freakin awesome! is general opinion that the ti has the flavor edge over the ss for all the people that have one?
im gonna wait until they start shipping them within a day or two of ordering before i commit. my patience isnt like some of yours

not the backers in general, just the first backers to be receiving their units. so the people who receive their units before mass shipping. We only know of a handful of people who got theirs + the other handful or so we dont know. If they were truly mass shipping there should be hundreds out by now... but it might not even start right away, they still may pay for warranty shipping up until its no longer pre-orders or they feel they have the issues worked out and its no longer their fault (issues within a few days of getting)

You could just use the SS for the entire day .
Then the next day , use just the Ti GH .
On the 3rd day , if you " had to " choose just one
to take with you for the entire day to use .

I'll be very careful in stating that the only unit I have delivered to me to date is the holiday backer SS and I only got to try a Ti.

However, I did order a Blue Ti as a regular back and when that unit arrives I assure you I will be using it more often and if I was deciding on which one to get and only getting one it would definitely be the Ti or color. The ANECDOTALLY totally real difference in flavor which I would say is a very connoisseur aspect, I think many people might not even notice and even those that do, not all will care, the analogy I make is some people stop at IPA, others want a specific IPA.

That said, like a BMW the Ti is way more than snob appeal. I can't say yet about battery life because I didn't have the opportunity to compare but in every other performance aspect I think the Ti is better (SS AWESOME Ti just better) and even after the upgrade you still haven't paid for an original pax yet.

Not quite sure what I'll do with two GH's because I actually barely even use my pax2 anymore ... past few days when I want a spliff I actually just roll a spliff. The GH has really become my "only vape". I'm keeping my FF and Pax2 around for the moment because I might do a comparisons segment on my friends podcast here in the next few weeks.

Whoever asked about the temps, I went from 3 up to 5. I thought I did say that there were more hits left, I knew that, that was intentional, I was testing for when I, His High Grace the Duke of Boulder thought the flavor was begone dull care. I was not trying to harsh it to char cus ewww gross.

Can the Grasshopper do that? You betcha others have done it, of course others are apparently superman. The point of showing that it was not totally cashed was to show those who live in "Let them eat crawfish" states and care about efficiency, are those who care about for whatever reason you care about it, this device will give you a large amount of flavor, potent hits on ridiculously small amounts ... ridiculously like if someone gave me that amount in my hand to put in a bowl I would just drop it on the floor and go grab a real jar of dope ridiculous small. Like now when someone opens a jar of dope, I'm like that little bit of residue from the rim of the jar right there? yeah gimme dat, i fittin to f#$kered up ridiculous

I would want them to cover shipping if it broke due to poor design/construction/messed up internals, I would cover shipping if It was my bad, like if I dropped it off a mountain and something got messed up.

I expect that of every company though, sadly that's not always the case....

Gonna Just repost this bc nobody answered or really saw it and i am kind of interested in the idea of this , it may be a stupid question though but i guess ya get no where if you dont ask.

I think @BuzzDanklin is the only one that can try this right now. And it won't be SCIENCE because he has the pre productions.

Your post got lost in the 'GHLC' - grasshopper loop cyclone.

I don't know why the Hopper folk and other companies don't foot the shipping bill on returned faulty goods. It is tax deductible after all. They would get the money back where as the likes of you or I wouldn't.

Uncertainty regarding threads in Ti mouthpiece

The issue is that we need confirmation from Hopper Labs on whether the threading on the Ti mouthpiece is made of titanium or SS. If it's actually titanium, then diving in and experimenting with mixing and matching like that could likely end up ruining one of the few units out there at this point.

I do think they said they changed the threading to make it a bit smoother to turn so may not work for Buzz to do

Is this with the beta unit buzz was sent ? or will there be a difference in threading between the ss and titanium final products ? or your not sure ? Would be really nice if some people have a ss and can buy just the tip from titanium to swap for some added coolness .

They don't get the money back as it is profit loss. It just reduces the amount of profit that you pay tax on similar to if you took a pay cut you pay less taxes... That said, I agree a manufacturer should cover shipping cost both ways for a manufacturing defect even if it's just Economy shipping. A start-up can quickly go out of business if losses from warranty claims are high. For that reason you have to understand that Trevor and the boys are proceeding with caution. Design validation is so critical in new product development!

Buzz's beta ss had more threads. Current ss and ti have less threads. Buzz's Ti may be near final version, but his ss is definitely different in several ways

Sorry Rasta I didn't mean it literally but you know what I was getting at. Shipping costs to the UK, if you want a fast turnaround are hefty at best.

NP @phattpiggie as it's a fair point. Warranty reserves are tough to predict and if a company doesn't have a good understanding of the MTBF and Weibull distribution they are playing Russian roulette. Better off offering a 60 day warranty if you don't understand the reliability of your product. You might loose sales but at least you won't loose your shirt

With the cost of shipping these days your point has hit home with me so thanks. If a company is going to ship internationally it could get expensive if they have quality / reliability issues.

Wait till a reliable vendor sell em, that is what i am doing anyway. Puffitup will get them sometime (hopefully) and then no shipping or warranty worries.

I don't know about switching TI and SS tips, but I'm really hoping to see a gorgeous threaded hardwood tip from Sir Ed.

WARNING! THIS POST IS WRITTEN DURING AN ONGOING ANECDOTE COMPARING THE GH TO THE FF

So I'm 6 hits in, some Tangerine Haze from The Farm in Boulder thefarmco.com . My current anecdote i'm performing is comparing the GH to the Firefly.

I admit I am not a pro at using the Firefly so that is a caveat. I've seen people use it much better than I have but I have gotten a technique down where I've been pretty satisfied and pre-grasshopper it was definitely my go to vape if I happened to be at home on the couch. I never take it out, in part because I realize now its kind of a pain in the ass. (I remembered this site is called FUCK combustion so I apologize for censoring myself earlier and for offending anyone's sensibilities).

With the firefly you have to hit it a certain way, then you gotta stir it yadda yadda ...

Here are my initial observations. 8 hits in now

With the first hit with the GH set on 3 (Firefly has no temp controls you control temp through technique) I would say the FF had BETTER flavor on the first hit. I'm not sure if by better I mean actually more interesting flavor or just less "harsh"

I AM NOT CALLING THE GH HARSH, I am saying as compared to the FF I noticed the difference in harshness MORE than I noticed the difference in flavor.

Put another way, from the first hit, if you care about flavor, in exchange for slightly harsher vapor that is way way way tolerable, like no big deal I just had to have something to notice and that was available to be noticed, you get comparable flavor to the FF with no stirring, no pre-heating, no learning any technique and by the way if you don't like the flavor at temp 3, just set it to temp 2 next time, or crank it up to 4 now, treat yo self.

Now several hits in, I believe about 10 on the GH and 8 on the FF, give or take, I gotta say there is no reason to have a FF if you have a GH. If the barely noticeable harshness is an issue for you, get a bubbler and even if you need to buy a bubbler you could still buy almost 2 GH's for the price of one FF.

It's not to say that the FF is a bad device, it is SOOOOOOO TRES SEIS! It is to say that like a Porsche, you have it because you can but you don't use it every day. If I have enough money and wisdom to buy a Tres Seis Porsche, I definitely have the money and wisdom to buy a Prius for when its raining out ...

If you can have a Firefly, TREAT YO SELF. I will probably not even sell it though had I gotten a GH before my birthday, that money would have turned into dope instead of Firefly. Already owning a FF however, i'm awful glad to have a GH so I can have some of that experience when I'm out and about and not have to teach anyone how to treat themselves when I'm at home.

Also for those peacocks out there that care about cloud production first of all FUCK YEAH, fuck fuck combustion, I'm trying to talk about Fuck Discretion, its legal or it aint right? Oh right, it might not be legal for you ... how archaic, enjoying the crawfish are you? #LetThemEatCrawfish oh and while I'm on that tangent, congratulations those of you in Oregon on legalization day, welcome to the modern world, not to worry we still have crawfish, we boil them, its change but its exactly the same ...

Anyway get my head out of the clouds and back to the ones you care about if you're still reading this for some reason, much better and easier cloud production with the GH. If you like to crank up your vape to max fucked up and fumigate a small apartment the GH does that with a pinch at temp 5 just as well as a sneaky little hit on temp 2 with a fully packed bowl where you could barely see anything but taste and feel it.
