Will they be longer than the standard stems? It makes a major difference on the Lily.

I typically run my Air on the lowest setting which is blue. Occasionally I'll bump it up to green (there's two higher settings than this) but that's about as high as I go.

The vapor isn't terrible but is a little warmer on the throat than my stock glass stems at the same level.

There can be found a great variability in performance & comfort characteristics among all the different stem designs on the market today, to include: Standard, PVHES & Turbo glass designs, different lengths, inner diameter, glass thickness, etc.; wood stems & wongs also vary in performance depending on length, screen fineness, wood density, inner diameter, bowl/bushing material, etc. Herb condition as well as ambient temperatures and humidity levels also have an effect on performance and comfort characteristics. By slightly modifying draw and pack techniques to accommodate such variability among stems, one usually finds a perfectly acceptable way to compensate for comfort. All of my Ed's TnT wood stems perform decidedly cooler and more comfortably to my liking.

@TeeJay1952 Hello and thanks for stopping by, I am glad you have found the stem to be satisfactory! The Nano stem is rather slender isnt but works very well for me. Yeah @Snappo is right on with his recommendation, follow his advice and you cant go wrong, thanks for posting your thoughts Snappo! BTW what species nano stem did you order?I think I got out a couple paela and blackwood last week. Hope all is well and wish you the best!

@Bravesst I thank you for your post and kind words as well, hmmm I have a piece for the Crafty sent to me by a good friend to try and work something up for it, it does look similar to the mighty in style and size, is it? I have given a little thought but havent had time to put anything together for it. I am hoping I will get a little soon to give it a go and see what is possible. Not sure about a stand, TBH I am a real hands on kinda guy, I like to have the unit in my possession before working something up, to many times I have tried with just the stem for a unit and after some time make a piece, send to the customer only to be told uhh its nice and all but doesnt fit, its really close however, it just needs a little here or there. Oh I hate that and just about wont take a job without having the unit in hand. I may could do you something for a stand but like I said would like to have the unit in person. Now if the stems are similar for the two units maybe soon I will have something that will work, am thinking a two piece stem system that would look close to what you have but fit together with a compression fit, that way it could easily be taken apart for cleaning. Give all this some thought and let me know what you think. I hope all is well for you and look to hear from you again soon!

Sounds awesome Ed. Wish I could send you a Mighty. The two-piece stem sound great, same as Crafty stem (exactly). The whole cooling unit of the crafty will actually snap onto the mighty. The Crafty stands up, the Mighty does not, so pairing with water is more difficult also. I'm a bit of a wood guy (not talented like you on any level, just more a amateur carpenter. I like the idea of being able to stand my Mighty up on and end table with a beautiful piece of wood. The actually make table top cell phone holders that might work (Mighty is like a large Smart Phone but fatter).

A cool mighty stand that allowed height and angle adjustments for pairing with glass at diff heights and angles would be so sweet. I might have to tinker with this (no air paths or anything involved, no need to be super exact or worry about anything). Thank You. I look forward to my first ED TNT piece.

PS: about to purchase some type of log vape, I know you make great pieces for the nano and underdog, so either way, you'll be hearing from me real soon. I love this place.

Good afternoon you all, just typed morning before I realized what time it was, I am freaking buried with so many irons in the fire! Dealer orders coming from everywhere, custom orders piled up and not to mention the headache of the website overhaul which is taking so much time! My webmaster is in France so we have a quite a bit of time between us and our emails so trying to stay up with that and his questions and me relaying info back and forth is a task for sure. That and I am editing and redoing images for the site and trying to put together all the content, wow I need a couple clones of myself!!! If you all know a great place that has success in the cloning industry as far as humans go pls let me know. I sure wish I could find an in-turn or admin assistant to help with all the business end of the business, I would much rather be in the shop than behind this dang PC.

@Melting Pot Yeah @Snappo has qquite the task for me as far as custom work goes, his couple pieces will be very detailed and take a bit of time for sure but will be absolutely the finest inlay job I have done yet and most intricate of them all. Might have to poke him for a few extra bucks in the end, lol!

@little maggie Hello are you referring to the Mighty/Crafty stems I mentioned above? I am not sure just what the length of this two piece system will be just yet. I am still giving it some thought. If not what you were asking about pls let me know. I hope all is well for you!

@NickDlow Oh I bet that made for a crappy day, what a way to go about it! I was laying in bed thinking about the latest project you pitched at me and I got to tell you I have had a thought about those down brackets and wanna do something a little more than what I originally thought, I have an idea to bore a rather large hole in the center then maybe a smaller above or below the larger, then cut it diagonally then sand and attach, I think these holes will really add some flavor to the brackets and not just make them stand out but give them a little uniqueness of their own, a little more to say "Wow, how bout that" thats my thoughts as far as that goes, dont really wanna give my idea away until you see what I am thinking in person, want you to say "OMG"! I feel you will really like what I have cooking!

@Deano Hmmmm I feel @Snappo has said it best, there are many many ways to achieve the performance and liking of my wooden stems, there are so many variables that it could be any of the list he mentioned. I dont mind mine a little harsh to be honest, thats just how I roll, I like to know that I am getting all I can get no matter what, I am one of those guys that has always been if you aint choking you aint toking and you got to caught to get off. Pls try different grind techniques and slightly packing the load some also to find the way that suits you best. Thanks @Snappo for pointing out all these factors and your advice, well said!

@TeeJay1952 Ahhh yes they do but not like the OEM UD bushings, mine go around the heat port and perform a little different than the custom UD stems. I hope you are finding it enjoyable either way you are using it!

@Bravesst You know what I saw this post last night and have been giving it some thought, I am figuring I could do some sort of stand for it and how about a whip rig system to work with it kinda like I did for @CarolKing and her Solo, I could make the stand, turn a small wooden joint to attach to the unit, maybe get a herbalizer tubing and connect to the joint end then on the other end turn and attach a 14mm mouthpiece/wong just for using with a water pipe, hmmmm whats your thoughts bro? Yeah get you a log and Ill do something for ya, id be happy to for sure. If you like you can send me the unit, might be a few weeks before I can get to it but would sure like to give my thoughts a little work and see what comes to fruition!

@stickstones You right my man, always happy to do something different! Was supposed to be going over to a friends house this afternoon to cut down some old trees, cedar, dogwood, and maple I think, he has quite a large piece of property with a few trees that need to be dropped and used before they rot and are no good for anything, got an idea for a stand for the mighty in my head in one of those trees. My guy is like I dont care what you do with them as long as I get a matching set of candle holders from the dogwood, I was like deal! So I guess thats my next project other than stems, candle holders, I look forward to doing those, will be neat!

Oh edited to add this, I just made this for a guy, first of its kind, a curly maple solo stem, have never done one in this species, I thought it looked great and makes for a great contrast with the solo, hope you all like it as I did making it. Maybe Ill add it to the species line up in this unit.

I like that curly maple..I'm into the lighter tone woods..

@XeroRespect I feel ya bro, I was really careful working it trying to keep my hands and tools clean was tough, didnt want anything discoloring it, its a real beauty in the hand with the sun shining down on it!

Sounds like you have some good stuff brewin for me bud. I'm excited to get this started! But that live edge slab was sold so the search continues. By all means if u come across a piece from any of your dealers let me know. As u know I'm just going by places I see online. I'd rather get from a known and trust source.

Unrelated but is curly maple and I hope you don't mind me sharing Ed. But I picked up a sweet knife from backwoodscustomknives on an Instagram auction. He has a good eye for nice ass wood handles and is very skilled. Here's my curly maple utility knife.

Once i get moved ill clean these up and make a shelf or live edge table... Something. Once complete i think it will make a beautiful "something" too LOL. Will definitely look great with the log and matching Ed's set.

More pictures will come once complete. But the move is getting closer so i need to pack these away for now and thought id snap a couple photos first.

Oh and thats a buckeye burl wedding band on the NonG. A guy that lives about 20 minutes away made it for me since I cant wear metal jewelry. A couple people have thought it was made from tiger eye stone. Most dont believe its wood until they hold it, then they still dont think its all natural colors LOL... If they seen my UD log they would really think someone added some color

Thanks bud. He just told me its a water resistant finish, ill ask him though because it does look nice and glossy on it!


Edit: Just asked, he said he uses "CA finish" (Cyanoacrylate) Which is commonly used on pens and other small turned wood items.

I recommend not cleaning and let the wood absorb the flavor lol but if n when I rarely clean I use alcohol you can drink. I personally use Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey. The honey leaves a nice flavor when it drys. Also do not soak! Just a damp qtip or cloth or paper towel something like that.

Awesome. I've heard the WonGs and mouthpieces actually fit more snugly than stock (since they're not designed to also fit inside the haze, I assume). True for you?
