So I've always had this question. The updates are the 1st and 15th but it comes out basically on the 2nd and 16th, why is that? Just curious.

You have made your point more than once. Your accusations against the company in this post are over the line.

Because they like to jerk us around

Edit : and im not buying this bullshit about them being soooo busy that they forget every update and just throw something together the last min. Their timing for updates has pissed off a lot of people from day 1.

I think they probably set it up to automatically post right before midnight their time (MST). By doing it this way, they manage to get a good night sleep before reading all the complaints and whining about their latest update the next morning...:rofl:

but if its been like this since Day 1 shouldnt people be used to it by now and expecting it so no need to be mad. I like it, dont have to anticipate it coming out, I just go to bed and wake up and check it out

No at this point they should be updating us as soon as anything major happens or at least every few days. This shit is overdue by 2 yrs basically.

Edit: on that note we shouldn't have to be waiting for 15th and 1st updates anymore. Should be sooner and much quicker

I think it's a question of allocation of resources. Matt & Trevor are the QC guys. I haven't read that anyone else is trained or trusted for that function yet. IMO, I would rather them spend their time on production rather than communication to us and others. Especially since they are consistent with bimonthly updates.

they technically dont have to tell us anything (as stated many times throughout this journey) Yes it would be nice to update us along the way when things happen but they have a lot going on so they take two days a month to get everything out and then answer some emails to clear up certain things, its how it has been going and how it can most plausibly be expected to continue

I suspect we will hear about some early challenges that are under control, ramping up the shipping of units and working hard to meet demand, blah, blah....

What I would love to hear is how many units shipped (even a ballpark) and what exactly the problems are and how they fixing/or are fixing them. With some more info on how many units will ship out in the next couple of weeks (even a ballpark numbers).

That is TOTALLY reasonable, but at this stage of the process, I think sending private updates by email to the backers as frequently as is necessary would be appropriate, and would ultimately reduce the amount of emails they receive. Think about how many fewer emails they would receive if they sent us one saying "We understand your concerns about the early unit malfunctions; we already have a fix in place so there is nothing to worry about." Pushing out a 1-2 sentence email to backers takes 5 minutes, and keeps the whiners at bay.

I hope we get a detailed Trevor update rather than a vague Matt update...
Or maybe Conrad will put in a good effort. He's Canadian, so maybe it will be a special Canada Day update. Haha.
Edit: Conrad's the guy in the original indiegogo campaign ad that had the awkward introduction. "Oh hey. Didn't see you there..."

Update July 1, 2014 ,<------ please note this date

"This is bad news for hitting our estimated delivery in July. We’re continuing to shoot for beginning deliveries in late July and early August, but a more likely delivery date for the bulk of the units will be September."

Wonder if we will hear a similar one?

...I sure hope not. If not realistically optimistic, I'd hope this update will come with some specificity, such as how specifically things went wrong with some early production units + how these issues have been/will be addressed.

This whole thing is oddly stressful... Odd because I should consider myself lucky with a pre-order date of early June and est. ship date of "July" (now pushed to August).

This is GOOD NEWS that indicates the assurance that more "perfected" hoppers will confidently leave the GH factory! The diamond is being polished! Take great care, folks, not to hang before the trial;-)
