So the main big innovation I see , is the Quartz Terra .
Which looks like a quartz stem with cup , wrapped with coil to heat .:tup::rockon:
I can only imagine , how great that would taste ... until I get them
from PV asap .

I see something on the Facebook page that teases "quartz" and "double coil revolution" but no details, and nothing on the Source website to clarify anything. The Facebook site says that they were supposed to reveal the new Quartz on June 20, which was yesterday. I hope they put out more info tomorrow.

Hi guys,

As you now know, we will soon be releasing our new SOURCE orb 3 within the next few weeks, slowly releasing the many upgrades and products with this new product line these next few days.

Since some of the information about our new products has already leaked, we'll be explaining a bit more about our products to FC.

First off, the new SOURCE orb 3 will mainly have internal upgrades, which means the atomizers are being upgraded to our new 3.1 model. This also means that all SOURCE orb 3 atomizers are fully compatible with SOURCE orb v1.5 or later models (SOURCE terra atomizers need v2 or later). The only physical change to the SOURCE orb is our new logo, so by purchasing a SOURCE orb v2 you can just purchase the new atomizers and you're all set.

The SOURCE orb 3 atomizers will have 3 main upgrades, one of which is the introduction of our new Quartz Atomizers:
  • Quartz Single Coil
  • Quartz Double Coil
  • Quartz SOURCE terra.
These new atomizers are additions to our current atomizer line, with the exception of the Quartz Single Coil, which will replace both the Wicked Single Coil and Ceramic Single Coil atomizers.

In regards to the SOURCE orb 3 Signature Kit posted above, that is our new upper-tier model that includes all SOURCE orb 3 atomizers (8 in total) and 3 different SOURCE orb atomizer attachments.

SOURCE orb 3 Atomizers:

  • Quartz Single Coil
  • Wicked Double Coil
  • Ceramic Double Coil
  • Quartz Double Coil
  • Dry Herb Burner
  • Dry Herb Baker
  • SOURCE terra
  • Quartz SOURCE terra
Attachments:
  • SOURCE orb 3
  • SOURCE orb slim
  • SOURCE globe (v4 model)
SOURCE orb slim is completely new attachment designed for those looking for a bit more discretion, while the v4 SOURCE globe will upgrade its airflow. Lastly, we will also release the v3 of our SOURCE bubbler. More information on these attachments will be released later.

In addition to the Signature Kit, will have two new Travel Kits, as well as upgrading the Premium Kit.

In total, will be releasing:

  • 3 new Quartz Atomizers
  • 3 new Attachments
  • 3 new Kits
  • Upgrading all wax atomizers to SOURCE orb 3 atomizers.
For those wondering if SOURCE orb v2 products will go on sale, we can't really announce that, but if you are signed up for our mailing list, you might receive an email tomorrow.

Here's Sneak Preview of our new Quartz Double Coil atomizer:

These are modified v2 atomizers to show the coils and vapor, so these are not the final versions of the SOURCE orb 3 atomizers.

We'll be releasing more information on our new products every day, and if you'd like to keep up, please visit our blog: http://www.sourcevapes.com/blogs/news

Would love to hear more about this "SOURCE orb slim"... curious to find out if it is an attachment for the regular battery or if it would pair/look well with the 10cig or similar sized battery.

I would love to see more love attachment/atomizer wise for the 10cig I love the 510 Slim batteries for stealth use.

I would like to see more of the Quartz Terra , from different angles .
Especially from the top view looking straight down into the Q-terra .

Where are the air inlets located ?
Is it a solid cup/bowl and how deep is it ?
Does it leak down below the atty ?

With the old terras ,
Sometimes the oils seep beneath the ceramic bowl , before any vapors start .
But using it at 12 watts , It cracked one of the terra cup . idk why .

The Q-terras looks very promising . :)

I have had my Source Orb v2 for one week. I use an eleaf istick mini battery set to 3.7V for the dual coil atomizer and to 4.8V for the terra atomizer. In comparison with other small oil pens that I have used in the past, the dual coil atomizer gives much bigger and better hits. I prefer to use the terra atomizer because the dual coil atomizer tastes bad and makes me cough while the terra atomizer gives smaller smoother and tastier hits. Most oil specific atomizers are very poorly built and it seems like the Source atomizers are no exception. The dual coil ceramic atomizers were loosely and unevenly wrapped with the titanium coil. One time when I was unscrewing the dual coil atomizer from the Orb itself the small metal piece on the very bottom of the atomizer fell off and so now I have to reinsert that tiny piece every time I want to use the atomizer. And one of my terra atomizers won’t heat up anymore. At least they’re inexpensive… If I had to do it all over again I would probably purchase a W9tech Kiss Alpha Centauri in hopes of superior build quality. Do W9 Kiss and W9 1701 carts fit inside of the Orb?

Has anyone else had problems with the terra atomizers? I ordered an orb v2 kit plus a 5 pack of terra atomizers, at first I didn't think they worked so I emailed pv and they replied back saying terras are finicky and one not working is possible but all them not working highly unlikely. They instructed me to uncrew all the parts and screw back in and turn heat to max. I did that but it only works part of the time and I always have to play with it, every time i press the button down it flashes a few times blue, doesn't heat and then stops. If i unscrew the bottom and screw back in sometimes it works sometimes it still flashes. Pretty frustrating considering when they do work, they give great taste and are better than all the other atomizers.

I agree with the above post how the dual coils hit well but don't taste the greastest, well see how the quartz ones turn out.

So far after 2 weeks of owning the thing, I really like it, it feels hefty in the hand which is good, its a little bit bigger than other vape pens so it looks like one of those fancy e cigs people have, allowing me to smoke it public. I still think the atomizers are too small, there's not enough room to add a decent bowl without it spilling everywhere ( a big problem I've had). Personally id rather pay more, and have better pen/atomizers.

So far this the best vape pen I've used. It's great but definitely room for improvement with the atomizers and button problem with terras 7.5/10 I have my eyes on the source v3 and the new quartz if they don't have the atomizer problem I would rate higher

Hi @vii!

When did you get your SOURCE terra atomizer? You might have our original design, which had an air vent on the bottom, as well as all of our atomizers.

Our v2 atomizers have the air vents higher up, which means you won't get any leaking.

If you, please email us at support@SOURCEvapes.com and we'll send you a new v2 SOURCE terra.

I got a v2 premium kit a few months ago and the all the atomizers had the hole on the bottom, including the Terra which made it pretty useless. I didn't realize that was the old design so I didn't contact support then, could I still get a replacement one?

So what happens when the atomizer drops? is it possible that the quartz will crack and I might possibly inhale shards of crystal? also I noticed Im not the only one sourcevapes blocked on there facebook page- seems like anytime anyone has questions that they don't like they remove and block- the user richard keller seems to be a shill who works for the company and pretends to be a new customer- most likely a zendesk agent. Kinda dishonest if you ask me

I have some proof- if you review there Facebook page you'll notice that they respond to users that are no longer there asking questions- they will quote the persons name to reply but there questions have been removed. I just wanted to warn the fc community- I will review the forum rules before posting again.

I just got my V2 and I am having the same problem with my Terra atomizer. Can you describe how to fix the atomizer? I tried to screw/unscrew the bottom of the atomizer, but it seems to spin both directions without loosening or tightening. The Terra atomizer doesnt seem to have any removable parts.

I attached and removed the Terra atomizer multiple times, alternating it with the double coil. The double coil works each time, but I cant get the Terra to work.

I am trying it at 4.3 volts. Is this sufficient voltage? Would inadequate voltage cause the light to flash, or does that indicate a connection problem?

I'm not sure. How I get mine to work is to uncrew the bottom metal part that the atomizer is attached to and press the button until it's solid then screw back in. Half the time it will still flash. This fix is very annoying considering I'm not the only one with the problem. I was told by PV that this is common. Had I known this I would have gone for another vape, real frustrating considering the thing isn't even a month old and doesn't work how it should. I wasn't planning on buying a nice vape pen to have the most important part not work. I even emailed PV and they told me that this is a common problem and terras are very finicky. Why are they for sale if so many of them don't work? There was no warning before purchase that some of them may not work.

I had similar problems, turns out I wasn't using enough voltage. They recommend 4.5-4.8.
Also, you need to prime it by not inhaling for a few seconds, so it can build up heat.

I found the info from their blog:

http://www.sourcevapes.com/blogs/ne...onut-atomizer-proper-use-care-and-maintenance

You will not get huge clouds from the terra- just medium clouds with great taste. :) It's been great for early day sessions when you need to be able to function.

I recently bought the new glass dome with the carb. It's a little weird holding the button with one finger and the carb with another, but I am able to do it now. It's helpful for testing terra so you can see when the vapor starts flowing.

Thanks. I tried various voltages between 3.7 and 4.8 and found that nothing worked. I am contacting Source to ask for a replacement Terra.

It is such a disappointment to have the Terra not work. It is the only reason I purchased the Source. The Double coil hits well, but is harsh and goes thru the shatter too fast.

I am interested in the Quartz Terra, but with all the problems with the ceramic Terra atomizers, I wont bother to spend the money on the quartz ones until I hear that they are reliable.

I wonder if there are a bunch of faulty Terras, or whether something in the design makes them all unreliable.
Is anyone using Terra atomizers regularly without any problems?

So, I just bought one of the kits, because I'm interested in the VV option, and also I wan't to try different carts.

I'll post back with my experiences later. Hope it makes it across the pond fast :D

All I've used before is the KISS which I have always found to be very finicky, but good. The main reason for trying a new brand is w9's lack of options for international cusutomers.

We'll look forward to your review .

I think you'll find the terras to be a step up from
the coil attys , especially in the flavor profile . The terras can be
finicky also , by that I mean , I'm still searching for the appropriate
VV/watts to use it . When I use it at higher 9 or 10 watts , it makes it
bubble over the edge and drips down . So I've dialed it down to 6 v at 1.5 ohm for
now , plus I think the high temps leads to my leaking problem . I've gone thru
2 terras , so far , but due to my own experimenting .

@SOURCEvapes
What is the preferred VV temp and Ohm for Optimum
usage for the terras ?

Also ,
Update :
I did NOT crack my terra as mentioned earlier .
It was just a hard resin stain .

So source had another sale and I bought the source globe v3 and I actually received it but there is a few problems- the terra cartridge's donut is raised on one side much higher then the other side and has red paint or ink on it- Im afraid to use it because of the red dots. Does anyone else have a terra that has red on it- is this normal? the other problem is the connecter that joins the battery to cartridges does not work at all- the cartridges work because I have another vapor globe and the cartridges work on it-
as much as I have been very frustrated and disappointed- I will say the double ceramic wickless works well.

I have had alot if trouble with the Terra as well. I thought my first one was defective, but Source sent me a new one on warranty and it doesn't work either. If I unscrew it and screw it back on a bunch of times, I can get it to work for a second, but it never works for more than a minute. It sux, because the Terra was the main reason I bought the Source in the first place. The double coil hits hard but the taste is pretty rough.

Yikes so my duel coil died today and now my variable voltage ego battery is stuck on and will not go off :o I have been using this battery for over a year straight with no problems. The globe v3 they sent me had a dead connector and now this? I used the double coil atomizer 3 times and now it's dead along with my battery. The terra I can't use because it has red paint or ink in it :/ now I have to go get another battery and use the single coil that came with it :( and hope to god it doesn't kill my battery.

lame very lame-
hopefully they fixed some of these issues in the orb v3- the quartz looks good but Im skeptical.

Hi all, I have very little experience or knowledge when it comes to vape pens and consumption of concentrates, but I have an Ego-C-Twist 1000 mAh variable voltage battery with 510 threading, and I would like to get something that I can attach to it for vaporizing shatter, wax, etc.

I really like the idea of the Source Terra atomizers, as I am definitely interested primarily in flavor, so I am okay with sacrificing cloud size and density if it means better flavor. I've noticed there are several people who have posted recently expressing problems with the Terra, but I am assuming this is just because the people with problems are the ones posting, and that meanwhile there are lots more people out there who are too busy happily using their Terra atomizers to post here.

To attach to my Ego battery, it looks like I have to decide between the Source Orb v3 and the Source Orb Slim (I'm not too interested in the globe), but I am wondering if anyone can explain in detail what the tradeoffs are, other than size of course.

I understand that the Source Orb Slim is significantly smaller than the Source Orb v3, which would obviously be an advantage for portability and stealth, but what are the disadvantages of this smaller attachment? Considering they are more or less the same price, I am thinking there must be something that the v3 does better, otherwise why wouldn't everyone just get the Slim? Does the v3 produce better vapor? Does it heat up faster? Can it hold more material?

Thank you for your knowledge!

Honestly I had similar problems and decided to check out a few other batteries before ruling the atomizers out. As it turns out, I think the battery is usually the real problem. I got a iStick 30W ( with adapter ) and now all of them connect and work well.

I'm kind of curious as to what wattage people are setting their Terras at, if you have that feature, because I noticed cold at 4.8 V, most of the Terras I have take about 20W ( the base resistance is 1.2 OHM ). It makes me even more curious because I don't think any pen battery ( even the big rig ) could push out that much, and it could also explain why the battery isn't registering the atomizer ( perhaps 1.2 OHM is below the batteries' threshold ).

I've been setting mine to 13W-15W and have not had any problems so far.
