I was under the assumption the plastic mouth piece would come off the glass but as much as I tried (before i used it) I could not twist it off.

You're right. Quick, go tell the wife......

Notice the treads on the glass part in the photo:

Ignore the rubber pieces, that was a project to replace the lost rubber gasket under the cap (the reason, no doubt, you're having troubles).

They usually come off easier when hot. Don't twist by the flats on the MP, rather grip the cap low down, to avoid breaking it. Try wrapping rubber bands around the glass and MP to improve traction.

There is indeed a wood flavor present when using one of Ed's Stems. I for one thoroughly enjoyed it.

It starts to fade after several loads have gone through it. And then slowly goes away completely once the vapor resin fills the pores of the wood... I miss it now LOL

As far as burning yourself... You have to be careful. There is a risk burning yourself with lots of vapes, even more-so when you smoke a joint... Care must be given... But its pretty easy to NOT burn yourself... Im clumsy and still dont have issues getting burnt with my Ed's stem... Just grab the wood.. NOT the steel.

I use it up to red setting, refill it when still hot, back to back sessions... Still have yet to burn myself with it. Not once. Just be careful.....

I have burnt myself, once, just a little, with my UD log stem with stainless steel tip... But thats because of my own stupidity.. I had just took the stem out that had been sitting in the log for hours, set it on the table and it went to roll off and i grabbed it (by the steel tip apparently) to prevent it from falling off the table... See... I was thinking it was glass, just reflexes since i break so much glass... I should of let it fall, wouldnt of broke or anything LOL... Oh well. It was a very little burn, didnt blister.. Have had much worse.

For the couple guys that were talking about pairing the Air with a log. I definitely say GO FOR IT. It pairs so great with the Air as a portable. Im in love with my Underdog. Havent combusted herb since i got it. I wasnt "trying" to stop combusting or anything... But this log makes me not even have the urge. A couple on demand quick hits or full on sessions for hours.. It just works excellently and surprisingly uses less herb than either of my other vaporizers. I can get 3 loads on the "dog" from 1 Air load, it last longer in the Air but i get higher quicker from the "Dog". Faster, complete, extraction. Not going to lie... i started wanting a log just for the wood... but man this thing is an efficient powerhouse.

I am EXTREMELY impressed. Ed's TNT stem for the Air has converted me to an Air LOVER instead of liker. More material, longer sessions (think I need that, never been a one hitter guy), air flow awesome, tastes great (still dryer than Mighty, my other go to), but the effect is much greater (f clouds, even though they were pretty good).

Does this bad boy kick butt with water? I have an 18mm piece coming, may have to get a 14mm. Thanks Ed! Is there an an 18mm piece planned for the future I wonder?

Greeting from the Fringe... Have lots on my plate so absent of late. But not without my vape! In fact I just doubled down on backup A-Air from PV. FYI it's still a better deal than Massdrop with the CAD $ conversion and extra battery ($161 U.$.). And you won't have to wait until mid-July for a ship date.

You may be able to manually reset your Air. Please try the following:

Plug the charger into the wall outlet
Plug the charger into the AIR unit
press and hold both buttons for approximately 4 seconds
wait for 10 seconds then unplug from charger

I don't have any to check, but I'm sure some people use them in Fireflys as a bottom screen, after checking my firefly bowl against my air stem it looks like they could fit but it will be a tight fit if they do, also stems being glass means they might not fit in every stem.

Best way to find out would be find the size of these screens (had a quick search but found nothing) assuming they are all standard size (I would guess so) then measure your stems as each stem could be a little different.

Maybe ask over in the wispr thread for size then you can check your stems

Personally I like my dome screens but maybe if these fit they could work better  if you find out let us know, could be interesting

does anyone have any experience with both domes and can give an answer as to which is better? I've seen everyone mention the ones on EBay, are the Arizer ones new?

I think I have a couple of the Arizer ones, given by a friend to try in another vape. IIRC they come with one of the other Arizer vapes (a corded one)? Not useful for us here as there's a metal rim on it. You could trim that off I guess?

The Ebay ones are the ticket I think.

Thank you so much!
One more thing. I also own a Nano and I think the taste between the two vapes is pretty damn different. I'm aware one's conduction and other convection, but after a sesh the inside of the unit smells like burning metal almost. I'm not sure the smell. Is that just the smell of heated ceramic? Is that what is also causing some of the taste difference? Maybe it's all in my head.

Sorry, don't know Nano. I assume that's the one you're talking about with the 'heated ceramic' since there's none in Air?

Some convection vapes can add 'that hot metal' smell/taste to the air since they have exposed hot metal heating the air, not so generally with conduction where metal temperatures tend to be lower (since the metal surface has to be under 450F or so max) and the airpath is often/usually isolated from the heater element.

Sorry, I meant E-Nano, my friends just always call it the nano. I coulda sworn the Arizer Air had a ceramic heater.

Nope. Basically the same as Solo, a Stainless steel cup heated from the backside. There's ceramic furnace cement, but it runs cooler and isn't part of the airpath really. Glass and SS for the most part. IMO a big factor in Solo's well earned reputation for continued good taste?

VAS strikes again. Triggered pulled!

I'm a Mighty lover, as I was weaned on a Crafty, but at some point (about a month ago), got my first AA. Took a while, not as easy as the Mighty to get just right, but a bit more "ritualistic" and "fun" to hit from due to it's awesome sleek style, ease of use, prepacked stems, pairing with WT, and more and more.

So... here I am VAS'ing like crazy, even though I have 2 great vapes that produce (with the AA getting better and more efficient every day, as I learn it). I'm thinkin' log, wood, and on and on... but Ed's TNT satisfies my wood cravings, and works awesome on the AA (as well as logs). Anyway, long story short, I pulled the trigger on AA #2... and here's why.
1. Already have a bunch of stems and batteries
2. Can have preloaded AA's / stems anywhere
3. Super stealth and fun to draw from
4. Light weight and durable
5. Not so expensive I'm terrified to drop it (esp now I'll have 2)
6. Can spare the life of both by not relying on just one
7. Maybe have one just for glass
8. Wanted black (want those black ones, anyone have the link?)
9. Already way into the learning curve
10. Lots of manufactures out there making stuff for AA
11. So easy to pair (any good suggestions?)
12. Tastes is sooooo awesome now that I learned to hit just right, I'll never be without an AA
13. Randy had it at $169, I know I'm protected
14. With the skin, my wife won't know I bought a new vape (might be biggest reason)
15. Over the last few days I've been solely AA, I've conserved a ton of material
16. Can't believe this $169 vape is taking me away from Mighty
17. Changeable batteries!!! Who does that? Just about nobody
18. I just doubled my stash with going AA as a daily driver (might be same as 15)
19. It will pay for itself in one month
20. I fucking love it with EVERY stem (old ones, Ed's, plastic tips)
21. STONED

Come on Randy, get that bad boy out!

Okay, now that I'm super rooted in the AA, is it possible to shut off the beep? Using it late night in bed, it'd be nice to shut er down.

PS: Thank you all who've helped me make this rather tough decision (relatively speaking, all decisions should be so "tough"), much easier, by teaching me how to get the absolute (and more to come) most out of this amazingly simple and effective device.

Sure can, just hold either up or down (can remember which, up I think) button for a few seconds after turning on.

And yeah user changeable battery's are great  my crafty is the only battery powered vape I own (from my daily rotation) that does not have this feature which is part of the reason I treat it like my special/stressful time vape (for when I don't want to think too much or when I want big hits quick)

And the black stems are here
http://www.vapefiend.co.uk
Only place to get them I think

And point 14)...sneaky I like

My excuse for VAS is they all do something a little different/better, and options as you have found out are nice, although being a single dad means I have nobody I have to justify my VAS to  good times (or bad times for my bank account) I do seem to have a hold on it (VAS) right now, as I have almost every option covered, I don't need any others  ...ok maybe there are still a few I want, but it's now a want not need :lmao:

Don't distract the man, have a little faith, it'll happen at perhaps unmatched speed. I figure you've got an even money chance to have it this week, if it weren't for the holiday it'd be near certain.

There's a lot of excellent vapes in this wide world to consider. Right off, you might think about Air's big brother Solo (same stems, more heat level choices, better 'battery meter', easier to hold on to, longer battery life.....). Or a nice flame based one (Lotus, Vapor Genie, Vapman.....). Or a very popular little guy, MFLB, that can be a joy and lets you savor/explore small loads.

The water's fine, come on in!

HAHAHA!!! I feel the same way. Between the UD and AA im pretty set. In fact i listed my EQ for sale/trade as i doubt it would get much use anymore... No bites on it so ill likely keep it as a back-up vape, or for groups... But im pretty happy with just the Air and UD log.

The only thing im still having "wants" for is a Lily. I dont have any butane vapes.. I love the wood... Decently priced too... Maybe eventually. I do really wanna try it... So we'll see how long i can stay strong and avoid buying it.. The move and new house is taking all my money and making it easier so thats a plus... In a way LOL
