So my math might be a bit off but according to the numbers on the grasshopper indiegogo site there are a total of 2,744 grasshoppers waiting to be delivered to backers. This includes:

standard backers - 1466
early birds - 120
holiday backers - 123
titanium- 484
color - 279
everything grasshopper - 72
8 retail kit backers x 25 grasshoppers per kit - 200

July is just around the corner so assuming they can pump out all 2,744 grasshoppers within the next 31 days (I want to believe this but it is doubtful) that still leaves however many thousands of preorders waiting to ship since they began taking preorders. Hate to say it but all you preorder guys checking your calenders hoping to get a hopper in August may have to wait a little bit longer. We'll be lucky if they can ship even half of the indiegogo grasshoppers out by the end of July based on their current shipping rate, which seems to be at most a few dozen a week. If there were any hope of meeting the estimates they set hundreds of grasshoppers should have already shipped out by now. Call me a pessimist, but I prefer to think of my self as a realist. :D

There is no way they can ship that many in July. Pre orders are more likely to get their pens by Nov-Dec.

If they are still just finalizing assembly protocols and will truly ramp up to 1k a week starting by next week or so, then the supporters will all indeed be satisfied in July as scheduled. these are some big ifs though.

that is assuming they don't already have 500+ units ready to ship but haven't for whatever reason

Considering I have an August ship date and am id:18000+ I think by your guys timeline, I should get mine in roughly 2 years. Or more likely it would indeed be in Duke Nukems luggage before arriving.

Oh, but even the backers/holiday upgrade folks have JULY dates. so maybe lets wait until it's actually JULY before we decide this company can't even make a dozen hoppers a week, yes?

Just a thought.

I'd like to think that they moved my ship date from July to August only after finding some issues, as a precaution as some needed more QC/rework time.

I am hopefully optimistic that they will find a fix quickly and surprise us all in July with GH's.

The actual number of backer orders is a little higher because they allowed IGG backers to add to their order in Spring 2014. I for one added an additional SS hopper at that time to my original Ti order. Probably not a huge number but maybe a few hundred more...

You can be a pessimistic realist or a realistic pessimist or whatever (and you may be right). But I wouldn't base any estimates on their current shipping rate. It seems obvious that shipping has stalled while they work out issues with the charging boards or whatever but I'm optimistically hopeful or hopefully optimistic they are well poised to ramp up production once they are comfortable with the fix they have identified.

They didn't say 1K a week as many people have been quoting, they said thousands of units a week (I know, they have said a lot of things that didn't quite work out). So if we are going to speculate I'll use at least 2k a week which could easily mean July delivery for all backers.

This is true but we have already seen reports from backers who have added to their orders after the close of the IGG campaign that they have only received what they originally backed for. I assume therefore most backers will get their additional hoppers in the normal course of shipping pre-orders. Although if they get production ramped up enough so no one is delayed even more, they may start shipping backed and pre-ordered units together to save shipping costs.

Today was my day to be positive. Tomorrow I will assume the worst until the update comes out.

Yeah, seems like their goal is to get everything set up first, like finding potential assembly issues or other qc early in these few singular shipments and maybe even setting up that shipment tracker thing that's been mentioned. Then they hope to send many many at once, and continue in that fashion for the next several weeks... Optimism aye

Seems funny to me that they have all these hoppers sitting in boxes waiting to be shipped and have not shipped it, yet when someone has their unit malfunction they have a hopper to send asap..hmm

I've wondered about that....I hope it's like others on here keep saying, that there are probably more being shipped than we realize

We have at least a few of the earliest backers here, who've yet to hear anything, so I think the simplest version of reality is very few hoppers have been delivered. Similarly, there can't be a big shipping announcement tomorrow, cause no address confirms, either. Whatever they're doing - I'm assuming they're doing the assembly QC for realz, cause it was never clear where they'd made time for that before - they're just not ready. Here's hoping for at least a picture of a significant # of assembled hoppers, and some real detail on what happens next w/ shipping!

Id like to take this moment to point out the lack of order in those units that have been shipped... so despite having some of the earliest backers here doesn't mean they will actually be in that spot in line despite what we were told.

While I do think they haven't sent too many but are dealing with QC and hopefully know how to find the faulty units without having them being used and taking this time to re-go over the units they have ready to double check before mass shipping starts #hopeful

Yes, it does seem what few shipments we know about we're all special cases, w or w/o Holiday Backer status. I'm sticking w "when all Holiday & Early Birds have tracking #s, THEN shipping has begun."

I think that's the one customer service related thing they've gotten right. Their whole rationale is that the GH will be the best vape on the market. That's what they're hanging their hat on. But there have been three failures (that I'm aware of) in the first few shipments.

Instead of allowing these customers time to complain on the various forums, they've immediately replaced the units, sending prepaid shipping boxes to return the defective units for autopsy.

So far, their ability to meet a schedule has not been impressive, but the support, once a Hopper is shipped, has been.

Im not so sure, i have a very suspicious feeling about this. They KNOW people come right away and say whatever on here and reddit so they want to look outstanding infront of everyone. Thats why they ship one out asap and send a return for the defective unit. This will not be standard practice in the future. I bet my life on it.

The cost would be too much and we will have to cover the shipping and mark my words as more and more people get their GH the speed that a unit is sent out will be much much longer than we have seen with these 5 pens that have defects. They are able to send them out asap because they only have that 1 defective unit to worry about and deal with.

Just wait and see :|

Seems logical to me. They apparently have plenty of assembled units on hand but don't want to send them out to new users until they are confident their solution for the failures is solid.

Yes, of course I am guessing and know absolutely nothing as fact.

Just hoping everyone who's paid money gets their hopper soon. Not much else to say. The situation feels surreal, with this thread at 20+ pages and the official thread chugging along at the same time. Released? Not yet released? Guess both are valid...

Ok so what I've said confirms it

Yes you can. So ok guys. Had an interesting issue come up and trevor has not heard of anything like it yet. My hopper now takes about 10 seconds to heat on a cold start. This isn't a long heat up time but considering where it started (4-5) seconds I thought I would email trevor and aks especially with it just now hitting the week mark. He said that that should definately not be happening and asked for a video. I got a tracking number before even sending it and he told me he was also sending a leather sleeve to tie me over till the ti cases becauses i asked before about it coming eith my order so i could have ordered one but didnt. He has aldp said he doesn't have an estimate on the ti cases because they are busy trying to get people units. I really debated posting this but honestly performance wise there doesn't seem to be an effect. It is only the heat up time. Ehixh really 10 seconds is still crazy fast but not the near instant it was.

This was taken from the other GH thread, again confirming the fact that hopperlabs has pre printed tracking labels and boxes of hoppers just sitting around.

He emails them with an issue and they ask him to make a video of it and send it to them, and even before he sends them a video, hopper labs have a hopper on the way with tracking info..

Amazing
