Back in 2004 I was all over the bag. Now with my rise 2.0 I never use the bag. When I have a group of people over I may use it.

What is the advantages of a bag? Just curious for conversation.

Enabling use for people with respiratory ailments or other physical constraints, also of course the automation of vapour production which allows for greater consistency and repeatability of extraction.

Wow. I guess I gotta give it a go with a bad lung lol. I just feel a bag is too much for me. Hence why I'm about it for a bunch of people.

I have asthma (luckily it's not too bad but it's still a PITA).
I personally find bags harsher.
It's something about the vapor sitting that make it feel stale or something?

I think a lot of the "hate" on bags you see around here is just people informing new a that the volcano isn't king...

Just about everyone who isn't into vaping still thinks the volcano is king.

So any newbie who comes in saying "I want a volcano because it's the best" is going to get an education on all the downsides of a bag.
Eg
Worse taste - a fresh bag can potentially have a bit of a plasticy taste, an old bag has a stale vapor taste.
Staleness - letting vapor sit in the bag makes the vapor more inpleasant IMO.
Cumbersome - more smelly pieces to store/use (and most bags crinkle really loud for some reason)
Washed out vapor - I find that a bag setup tends to give more diluted vapor than direct draw. So while it may be consistent, IMO it's consistently a worse experience...

If someone is asking for advice on a vape to get, and expresses a medical need, or a well thought out personal opinion on why they rather have bags, they'll get good answers.
If someone is just blindly parroting cano love, then they'll get educated...

I thought bags looked like a really cool option, then I tried a bag vape and saw all the downsides...

Sure they are great for medically impaired users, but in general discussion, I assume everyone is fully-abled unless they otherwise say so - for a fully-abled person in general discussion, IMO bags suck...
(Hell, IMO whips suck too for most of the same reasons ;))

Thanks for all the advice. I may consider waiting until I can afford the Herbalizer but will also look into the other ones that were recommended.

Herb-nerd mentioned "an autonomous forced air herbal vaporizer", what exactly is this?

By the way I have a fully automatic coffee machine that grinds the beans, loads the grinds in the filter, seals and compacts it, brews the coffee, and disposes of the puck of used coffee grinds in a removable bin. As you can probably see where I'm going, is there a fully automatic vape that grinds and does everything like those automatic coffee machines?

Thanks

I

I'd also like to add that the volcano and the plastic bags are SUPER noisy, probably one of the noisiest vapes i've used personally.
