Haha, thanks clicker!

Wow guys, what an era this is for Hawks fans! I was fortunate to see and touch the Cup right as this season was starting up, when it showed up at a local hockey rink here in CO. What an amazing experience! The Cup is alive with energy, felt like I was flying for hours afterwards! :D:o:D
If you guys ever get the chance to see it in person, do yourself a favor and do it!

I wish I cared about baseball. I used to as a kid. Unfortunately, I find Cardinal fans obnoxious, for the most part. Not all......but most.

haha trust me. i know exactly what you are talking about. the whole "best fans in baseball" bullshit... its fucking dumb. having said that... this team is a model franchise. one of the most storied clubs in the league. top 2 in my book. second in world championships only to the yankees who well... have endless money to pay players. the cardinals draft and develop players like you read about. they do it the right way. and just seem to find ways to win. like the redwings used to do.

and dont even get me started on the "hacking" thing. haha. not even an issue regarding the cards winning because of it. or even gaining anything from it at all. the guy didnt change his password. its not hacking if you didnt "hack" anything. its illegal for sure, but lets drop hacking. and the info that was collected (at least from what has been released so far) is not of any real value to the team. anyway, unless they find out there were other teams this is just fuel for ESPN to keep spreading their hate for the small market team that is RUNNING SHIT. lol they HATE that.

back to the fans. yep there are def those dipshits that think they are special. i know LOTS of cardinal fans and the dipshit to norm fan ratio is in plenty good shape i think. plus you are missing a beautiful game. not to mention watching the cardinals right now is so fun. baseball can be boring... no doubt. but not these guys right now. great stuff. no comparison to hockey tho. thats my main bitch. my bottom bitch.

when pat kane does his little wrist flip shit after he scores... i want to throw my tv out of the window. its so painful to watch. i hate toews but i respect the shit out of him. kane? hate his guts. he wasnt even that good this last year really. and was totally non existent in the olympics for the US. (lol sorry @wunderkind! i really am stoked for the fans. and so fucking jealous...)

rambling now...

No doubt the Cards are a great franchise. I don't disparage them. Just the self righteous fans. Plus I'm jealous that the Blues can't have that success.

Baseball is boring to me but that's coming from someone who really enjoys watching soccer.

I dig the homage to Pang.....'Like you read about'.

...true enough, and understandable. Looking back on it, I guess I felt the same way. I was living in Denver when the Avs won with Ray Bourque, and I passed on seeing it then. The Hawks hadn't yet won the Cup in my lifetime, so I didn't feel compelled to go and partake. That didn't stop me from partying with Avs fans downtown for a bit though.:D

lots of players moved around today.

saw that the hawks had to trade Saad because they overpaid for Bickell and Crawford last year. and now they are possibly shopping crawford?

kessel is now a penguin

sekera to edmonton

paul martin to the sharks

brad richards to detroit

more but thats all i can remember right now

Charles Urbane
The best goalie on the world is staying put. Yes, I said it. Crawford is the best goalie in the world. Consider his body of work. A shutout in a championship game. Two cups in three years and very nearly three consecutive finals appearances. Three consecutive playoff seasons with ten or more wins in each. This was done by only three other goalies previously and all are in the hall of fame (Smith, Roy and Belfour).

BTW Stanley made an appearance at the Jimmy Buffett show last weekend. Jimmy and Kaner drank Landshark lager from Stanley. The crowd went nuts.

Hopefully the Kessel deal works out. The Pens have given up an awful lot of draft picks and spent quite a bit of money on free agents in recent years, with little or disappointing results. Too much underachieving going on for a team with so much talent. It's much better now versus the days when you couldn't give away Penguins tickets because they sucked so bad, but frustrating nonetheless.

i got to pick out my seats yesterday. 12 game package. i got isle seats! great for hockey, but horrible for baseball. anyway, as disappointed as i am in this fucking team the last 3 POs... i am getting excited again. the thought of our lines right now really excites me. i sorta think we could upgrade our D if we could unload JayBo for a younger, but more physical Dman. unless JayBo's injury was his issue last year and he hasnt lost it all... i dont know. if Jay Bouwmeester has a good year this year? the Blues are going to win the division. if he lays another turd... we will be looking for help come trade deadline.

either way the blues will make the playoffs again. hopefully the exit of jackman and michalek combined with the edition of Lindbohm and Bortuzzo being full time players... we have already greatly upgraded defensively. and best believe that Jake Allen gained priceless experience in that series. scoring will not be a problem. tarasenko, schwarts, stastny, lehtera, steen, jaskin, backes, berglund, probably Fabbri and then the 4th line. we will score plenty.

is it october yet?

:leaf: I love october. As the puck drops on a new season, I wanted to share some of my favorite Stanley Cup pix from this summer. The first two are from Hossa's day at a castle in Trencin Slovakia. The third pic is from an amazing mountain top somewhere in BC with Brent Seabrook. Enjoy the season boys!

congrats to the hawks (pains me to say this!). i hate them like no other team in sports, but i do have the utmost respect for the club.

ok now that i got that out of the way... the Blues are poised to win the division again, but then what? what will they do in the playoffs this time around? many say another first round bounce and considering the last few years i dont blame them. BUT... we DID make significant changes this year despite what ive read on some sports sites like Bleacher Report. not a lot of new faces up front, but the lines have been reworked.

steen/stastny/tarasenko
fabbri/lehtera/schwartz
jaskin/backes/brouwer
ott/brodziak/reaves

the blueline is a different story. departing was Jackman and Michalek. additions to the blueline are bortuzzo, lindbohm, (i say additions because they will actually get to play now) and most noteably the young rookies in Parayko and Edmunson. these kids have played so well that they beat out lindbohm for a spot to begin the season. says a ton about their skill set. plus they are both big boys and pretty mean.

pietrangelo/bouwmeester
shattenkirk/gunnerson
parayko/edmunson

as for goalies... we are going with the tandem again that is arguably the best tandem in the NHL. Jake Allen and Brian Elliott. both are capable of stealing games and being rock solid all season. my vote is for Jake the snake to be our #1. he is ready. he is the future in net for the Blues.

LGB!!!

Pretty pumped about the young defense. A little grit will be helpful for sure. Not pumped about the goalie situation. I think the split time approach sucks. If it works, I'll eat my words.

i agree it sucks, but i dont think that is the plan for the entire season. hitch is basically going to split them until one straight up outperforms the other. if that doesnt happen then we have two goalies tearing it up. otherwise one of them will be the starter and the split system will be in the past. i like Ells, but i think Allens upside is just way too good and he will live up to it. i know he had a tough go the last two games against Minny in the POs, but overall he was one of our best players in that series. he will learn from it and excel.
