@2clicker As a mod the IPv4 rocks. If I just wanted TC for e juice it would be awesome.

However Vapeing oil in TC mode sucks with it. I keep getting the dry coil warning. Also TC doesn't work with ti wire on the IPv4. I decided I'm going to keep it for 6 months or so and see what else is out. I'd like a TC device that works with nickel or ti and at any ohms.

Lately I've been using the kiss ac dual coil at 25 watts. I pulse a dab until it's melted and put it directly in the bong and rip it. I get a good seal in a 18mm female and the glass mp or I use an oring on the glass mp for 14mm. I took the air ring off for better air flow also.

it is the 1701 kiss cart with the vaping donut.
Perfect! The 1701 is the atty that brought me to this site in the first place! full circle!

Thank you sir!

searching for master coil set...

Edit: Turned off ohms lock on the evic and AC have not kicked out of temp mode yet!

@2clicker Titanuim releases titanuim dioxide at 600f which is carcinogenic. Which looks like white ash. The kanth and nichrome dry burning your coil to red hot, the jury is still out on it from what i gather from ecig fourms, vapingunderground, ukvapers, ecf, etc But TEMCO which is the largest US seller of nichrome, kanth, tio2 wire in the US recommond agasint dry burning the wires. Was a smoker for 20 years, been vaping for 6years, using wax for 5years with rda. :)

KAnth and nichrome taste like shit to me even on the first hit. with wax or ejuice can still taste the metal in it. Nichrome much stronger metallic taste then kanth for me. ITs all the same reason why ecig companies want from nichrome to kanthral to Ni200 to Titianuim hehehe. becasue ppl can taste the metal still.. The best flavor I never tasted is with the evic-vt + tio2 single coil @ 540f. OH i use japanese cotton and eyptian cotton for wicking on ejuice. I use FC2000 ceramic wicks for wax. I would never go wickless on a metal coil.

yep i have been told that Ti oxidation is a known carcinogen, but also that it hasnt been proven to be carcinogenic to humans... at least yet.

i have tried wickless coils and i can def taste the metal.

yep. i use my rig through glass 99% of the time. i used a drip tip that is about 17mm OD and run an oring on there. seals perfect to my glass.

that sucks about the dry coil warning. i was hoping this was not going to be an issue. i was hoping to get a YiHi chip at some point, but the dry coil warning makes me think its not a great idea.

i wish i had the resources to produce this gear myself.

@2clicker, Given the lack of in-depth testing, we really don't know much about the long term effect of MOST gases, solids and liquids that we are exposed to. People generalize and people bullshit. And part of the con is leaving out the dosage factor. Compounds that are toxic at certain concentrations might not have any effect in other amounts, or can even have entirely different actions. Strychnine has been widely used as a tonic/stimulant. At a higher concentration, it's lethal.

Metal oxides are all around us because metals are always exposed to oxygen. Using a coil that was dry burned and rinsed off seems no more dangerous to me than eating meat cooked in a skillet. Inhaling anything other than clean air involves some risk.

Just fyi for anyone in the market for a tc device for concentrates ... the vf mini doesn't have cutoff warnings other than "open atomizer" and "coil short". It never jumps out of tc and goes down to 1 watt in tc mode. It works with either ni200 or ti wire but isn't programmed for ti so you've got to set the temp lower than with ni200 (I set mine at 300 with the ac). Doesn't have a racing stripe but it has a flashlight/strobe light

Highly recommended

First the flavor, then the buZzz settles in....
Im not sure if I am posting this in the right place, but I am looking for an ecig style pen similar to the Atmos bullet that I have. Nothing too bulky, but with some Umphhh!!

Right now I am just able to get a hold of MJ prefilled cartridges that are 510 threaded and also I think since Im only able to get the prefilled the cartridges, I would only need a battery for now.

Can someone recommend me a vape pen that is the size of an ecig, slim small and stealthy such as my Atmos bullet? Thank you.

rinsed off? i didnt know you were rinsing them after the cleaning. regardless youre right. that guy really had me concerned with it even tho i know that very little is known about it.

btw... you mentioned building coils that would take 30 secs to glow on a mech mod. what kind of coil is that? can you explain the build? i have made soooo many kanthal coils for my mechs and never had one that would take that long. 10-15 secs maybe but not 30.

The eGo sized battery-base is available in many lengths, i.e. capacities, from 650 mAh to 1200 mAh. But for firing the prefilled carts IMHO these are overkill. I've never needed hours and hours of power. Take a few puffs now and then. They don't really have more "oomph" than slimmer ones, they are all 3.7 volts, just run longer. I like the slim 180 mAh cigarette-sized ones, because they are SO stealthy. You can get them everywhere, Joyetech's are the most reliable. [CORRECTION! WRONG! I can't find them anywhere. They are obsolete. Passe. Old hat. I guess eGo size it is, or keep looking. Found some on stores that cater to beginners. Or from Asia.

This is using a home-filled cart, same type as the pre-fills.

@2clicker I'm a little puzzled myself, because I always thought of wattage as the ultimate power measurement. It would seem that any 2.5 ohm coil on a 3.7 volt battery results in X amps and hence Y Watts. But if I use thicker wire at the same voltage, current and wattage it takes much longer to reach temp. There's a "thermal inertia" involved.

Using 28 gauge A1 kanthal on my favorite 7/64 drill bits, I get very fast glow at 5-8 wraps, that's around 1-1.5 ohms. But with 13-16 wraps, 2.2-3.0 ohms, it takes forever to warm up, easily 30 seconds. Using two of those in parallel gives 1.5 ohms with a very slow curve.

This is using long cotton wicks on a Plumeveil 1.5 Tobeco clone with Glycerin e-liquid. I use short rolled oxidized Stainless Steel "wicks" for erl, or for taste-sampling e-liquids.

The battery voltage droops a lot on a mechanical mod, and that's probably a factor in slowing heating
. I like to nurse an e-liquid RDA that way, letting it warm up and pulsing it to keep it warm. With erl it's a good way to let it boil off without burning any.

For the pre-fills the skinny 510 batteries are great.

Of course if you start with your own oils you're back to the drawing board or the marketplace ;-)

Wow that's a good deal on the vf mini. What's the light on top? Does it play MP3s? ;-) I was gonna say, an RGB LED, and it seems like it IS!

WHERE can we read more about these VF minis?

Wonder if these are authentic. Which ones are shipping from US?

Says it's Kangxin so it should be legit ... good deal. It seems like most US retailers are selling them for 50 - 100% mark up compaired to the price you can get them from China.

It's an LED that can be used as a flash light or a party strobe ;)

Got some shatter this weekend and mixed up .5gr in 2ml ejmix, turned out great. Got another batch at 1gr in 2ml. Using iclear 16 1.7ohm. Should have an aerotank mini this week then I am going to rock it. Should be able to reclaim lost oil in the shitty long iclear wicks with some ethyl alcohol. May just save that for spiking the crafty loads.

Love, love, love ecig juice for superior stealth!

I've tried different proportions, and what has worked best for me is a half gram of wax and a quarter gram of EJMix. Or a half gram of EJMix to a gram of concentrate. In other words half as much EJMix, 33% EJmix. A drop of EJMix out of their bottle dropper is around 30 mg.

It takes some work to mix. I put it all in a little 1 ml glass vial, mix as best I can with a small dab tool, a pin, or whatever, then put on its plastic stopper and run hot water over it. Then I attach the vial to an electric toothbrush with a rubber band and let it vibrate under the hot water tap. The result is something almost the thickness of Pure Gold. I use EJMix to prime any wicks. But this way, with only 33% Glycols, the flavor is very clean, the thicker mix leaks less, and it's very strong. On the other hand you have to warm it up more gradually for it to wick. It's all in the skillz!

IMG_5869_comp_RL_zps8c3a4230.jpg

The sample on the left used EJMix, the one on the right used Propylene Glycol (PG).

At stage 1 the solvent has been added but they are unblended. There's a quarter gram of wax, and 120 mg of EJMix or PG, that's 4 drops.

Then at 2 after heating/vibrating they are both clear.

At 3 on the second day you can see how the EJMix is keeping the oil perfectly suspended, but the PG blend has started to separate.

The single coil type 2 Kangertech mini has the smaller openings in the head than the dual coil type 3. I find the type 2 less prone to leaking.

nice post. i havent been liquidizing my errl lately. just been stealth dabbing instead, but i did just get a few Gs of some decent shatter thrown on my lap. so i plan on using at least 1g to make a fresh batch. i am going to be trying a new thicker mix this time i think. i may go with your ratio. i used to use a .5g errl to 1 part EJmix. of which was always good for me, but could always be more potent eh?

3.6" x 1.5" x .9"

a little taller than i would like, but i love the price. and focal ecig is a great vendor. good prices and in the US. i may have to get one to try out. i wonder if its chip would fit into my cloupor mini.

so i have been really playing with some coils for my Evic. i have come to find i enjoy the flavor from nickel wire more so than the Ti wire. i have been trying new styles of coils as well. in fact i have not even tried a DBC on this device yet. i think i have found a coil design that is going to work very well. its a nickel build and basically you wrap a micro coil (about 1.5-2mm) as many wraps as you like. mine was about a half inch in length with the wraps touching. then i took a piece of middle size RXW and slid it onto the coil. so the micro coil is inside the RXW and holds it open kinda like a skeleton. then i took more nickel and wrapped on the outside of the RXW. then the leads are twisted together. essentially its a micro coil core, RXW sleeve, and a coil holding it all together. or a cage of nickel wire holding the RXW in a tube shape. is this making sense? lol

the idea was to heat the RXW from the inside and out. so far my experience with this coil has been very good. it also allows you to use a very little amount of RXW compared to a DBC. it wicks well, but obviously less than a DBC. less wick = less wicking. but it improves upon vaping the entire dab. with DBCs sometime you have to give it a little more power to vape the entire dab. i assume this is due to the wire being inside the RXW, but not touching the interior walls like a coil would do.

anyway, ive got more wire and wick coming. so more to come.

@2clicker, the thicker mix isn't to make it stronger, it's for better taste, to keep it "together" when cool, and prevent leaking.

Treating it as an e-liquid has never worked well for me, I'm not yet sure exactly why. It's as if its oily nature just didn't flow the same as a water-soluble e-liquid.

On that build, RXW, DBC - my imagination doesn't seem to keep up with the terminology, any chance you could post pictures?

BTW, I was just watching the CustomGrow420 guy choking, above and beyond, and I wonder if anyone is measuring the temperature of the oil vapor coming off their dabs. It would seem that at some point passing through a little water isn't doing much, and you're just searing yer lungs.

I mixed up a half gram of pineapple something and 15 drops of ejmix and it got me going on the evic atty but the taste is not there for me. Then it leaked the remaining juice out the air vents and I put it away.

(Crosses ejuices off my bucket list.) :)

@fernand... i dont see why "cutting" it less wont make it more potent...? i mean a straight dab is going to pack more of a punch than that same dab liquified. i would have to vape multiple rips of the liquid to get close to the dab itself. once cut with ejmix its no longer as concentrated. when i once let my wife mix some errl and EJmix she used a 1:1 ratio. and it was weak. so i added another 1 part oil to it and it was well more potent. i see how it would def improve flavor and prevent leaking... but its def going to be more potent as well.

what are you using for the carrier liquid? sounds like ejmix. that shit mixes perfect for me and is very similar to ejuice. works the exact same for me.

regarding the coil i described. its not a DBC. those can be found further back in this thread. i have not used a DBC w/ TC yet, but i do plan on it. however i feel this new "caged" coil/wick setup will vape more efficiently. as soon as i get more nickel i will post the build.

Crosses ejuices off my bucket list. :)

dont do it yet!

i have vaped errl juice whilst having conversations with cops before. they had no clue. for stealth nothing even comes close.

just saying. it can be perfect in some situations. and taste great as well.

A very high temp nail can evaporate the oil so violently that it doesn't have time to burn - not as much as one would think. Still, some of it will burn/decompose, and that blast furnace exhaust is going to be pretty hot.

I don't see the purpose, but it's hard not to laugh. As far as I remember my physiology, we don't have nerve endings down in the lungs that can alert us to how much damage is occurring. To each his own. It's like some people are into guzzling Everclear. IMHO this guy's wasting his lungs more than his head.
