RUDE BOY

@bounce5 I'd Get a picture of the bottom with the serial number, then check with magic flight to see if it's real or if they used the warranty already. I actually bought one slightly used like new walnut one here on FC and found out later they had gotten a new one fraudunatly already using the lifetime warranty.

That's the issue. Some low life types take advantage of MFLBs amazing 'we trust you' replacement program and rather than destroy the old unit when the new arrives (and send the confirming photo) as they agreed to do they pretend it never happened and try to set up honest 3rd party folks for grief.

By all means check it out with MF, and if it's bogus rat the SOB out to EBay. It's not technically his to sell, it's clear fraud and some other poor innocent will get burned if you don't.

It it's legit, great price. The batteries will be an issue no doubt, plan on getting replacements unless these have been replaced (seems unlikely at one use per year.....).

Good luck.

Yo, Absurd! I just solved a problem I had for months with my MFLB. I'd get static from the clear plastic lid, and the herb would leap out of the trench like its ass was on fire, and stick to the window. The more I tapped it, the more it clung. So what I found is that tapping with a wet finger discharges the static. End of problem. Just wet a finger in your mouth. The herb now drops to the trench. Doh.

I was on the right track ... sort of

Isn't there moisture in vapor ?
Which should relieve the static problem , after the 1st hit . idk

@cwheezy You make it look so simple ;-)

We are on page 1018 of this thread! There are a lot of failed attempts to link a Magic Flight Lauch Box to a water tool in there.

You can also do what paka said for the inside buildup. Personally I have a steady hand (:brow:) and once in a long while I will CAREFULLY run a toothpick against the "floor" flat. It helps collect the stuff inside but not all of it. I say CAREFULLY because if you mess up and push up against the screen you can mess it up pretty quickly.

I use a flat set of tweezers for cleaning the oil under the screen. Something like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e4/Tweezers.jpg

I stick one "arm" of the tweezers through the draw hole making sure to keep the tweezers flat, flush with the wood bottom of the box. I can then scrape pretty much any extremity of the inside of the box, from the front to the sides/corners to the LED. I don't care about reclaim so I generally just wipe it on a towel. Once every few months is often enough and it takes about 5 minutes, never had a problem with the screen.

Needless to say if you try this, be very careful the first few times you do it not to hit the screen.

Here's my box after 2 years of daily use, brush clean once daily and thorough clean every few months. No excuse for a dirty box!

True. I wipe it clean before every refill. Then a few careful knocks on the back with something heavy so the remaining powder/ dust falls out, and i finish with letting it run hot (pa@100%) till the box feels like a hot cup of coffee. My 1 year old box looks comparable with yours. The only real trouble is concentrates (hash) bubbling over the tray and flooding the mesh, that`s why i clean the whole box every month with ISO.

By the way, are there any LB-users that also own one of the new vapes like the Crafty or the Mighty? I just read some reviews and most describe them like the holy grail of portable vaping. After a year LB usage i can say i`m still a happy LB-user but sometimes i would like to see and taste thicker clouds and a little more control on the temps. With a LB the user is more or less the controller, and even after a year sometimes i learn some little things while taking a draw.

But sometimes i wish there was some digital controller or something in it, that just provides me with the perfect hit. My question: Does for example a Mighty provide a perfect draw and is it so much better than a good LB hit? Not that i instantly will buy one, >300 euro is way more than i`m willing to pay, and i still like the LB.
It`s reliable, it always works (well), and like the simple wooden design:bowdown:

I own a LB and recently bought a Crafty too and sure it's a beast but come to the Crafty thread to talk about it.

to me the box continues to shine in regards of portability and stealth. i just came back from a trip to the Alps. i vaped with a friend of mine in the hotel room almost every evening. we used the box on our hikes and we took a couple of hits in native mode on the night bus on our way home. all of it without getting noticed or to be looked suspicious at.
an other friend got the mighty a couple of months ago, he grabbed it for a walk in the park last weekend. it's a great portable, but the three mflb owners among us pointed out the size factor. it's just too huge and too bulky in comparison to the tiny mflb. i love my mflb. now i said it again. :)

This time with so many vaporizers still worth buying a MFLB ??
I have , vaponic and Pax . But I liked something more "natural" and this wooden box enchants me !!

Please help ...

First off, welcome to the Forums.

IMO, yes. I'd take MFLB over either of those. The MFLB thread didn't grow to over 25,000 posts because folks didn't like it. Most of us have them, and even having 'graduated' to other vapes still have a fondness for the modest little guy.

You might also consider Vapman. It too reeks of 'hand made natural product' and is an outstanding performer.

A MFLB is a tool and as such is suited to some tasks better then others. I like it for for stealth, its quick heat up, excellent taste, efficiency and that lifetime warranty. On the other hand it is no cloud chaser, its not good for groups and the learning curve defeats many potential users. Some of those drawbacks one can beat others not so much. Will it be worth the investment to you, well only you can answer that after you lived with it for awhile. From a personal point of view there are a number of other good vapes in my collection I would give up before dropping my MFLB. Good Luck

I've had the MFLB for 3 years now - need to get new NiMh batteries and a charger! Haven't used it all the time as I don't use weed too often. But I'm surprised the MFLB hasn't gone down in price.
It has a 'good warranty' instead, if you know what I mean.
They're also offering a huge range of accessories you can pay extra for to use the device.

I thought they'd upgrade the model so you can use Li-ion batteries. Or have an integrated battery and stem. Or make it in exotic woods at cheaper prices to maintain its popularity.

With the Arizer Solo at the same price point and huge battery life, the MFLB is due to becoming a thing of the past.

I think there is a place for both of them at their respective prices. Different tools are used for different reasons.

Ahem, er. . . in your opinion.

I think the fact that this little box has remained pretty much unchanged over so many years & it has itself seen other vaporizers come & go, yet it is still used, loved & treasured by many - is a testament to it's simple functional design & also the values held by Magic Flight as a company.

I feel that the Launch Box will probably bumble along quite happily for many years to come. Well mine will at least.

Anyway that's what I think :D

When I look in my tool chest I see four hammers each has tasks it is suited for and tasks its not suited for. I am not going to break concrete with a tack hammer or work on cabinets with a framing hammer. Same with vapes you chose the right one for your needs and desires so you can play to its strengths while minimizing its shortcoming. My suggestion is if you aren’t happy with the state of your current tool go find one you are happy with.

So many ways to get hammered. But this little one is my favorite for sampling strains. And sampling strains at the two toke level is my favorite cannabinactivity. Love the simplicity of placing a pinch on the screen. So easy to clean off. Minimal cross-contamination. It's like a sommelier's cup.
