I still need to read the dissenting views as I simply can't comprehend anyone ruling against gay marriage on constitutional grounds (let's not even speak about simple humane practices), but I am thrilled to say the least! This is just a step though, there is still a lot more work to be done to mitigate and eliminate the fear and hate that's out there.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect gays even being marginally included in society. I didn't come out until my 40's, I had such innate homophobia. Of course, the Catholic Church had a lot to do with it, having attended six years through 8th grade of Catholic School. Luckily, I got into counseling at a local LBGT center. Still, I didn't have the courage to come out while my father was still alive. Strangely, I firmly believe The Closet saved me, as I grew up in the SF Bay Area. Had I been out AND drinking, Katey bar the door. I'd be long gone.

The White House on Friday night is splashed with rainbow-colored lights to celebrate a Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage around the country.

The light display capped a day of jubilation over the decision at the executive mansion.

President Obama hailed the ruling Friday morning, saying in the Rose Garden justice has arrived “like a thunderbolt” for gay and lesbian couples.

@macbill A great day for you to see!

Just wait we will hear from all the conservative haters out there. Some of the presidential candidates have already sounded off. There are more folks for gay marriage than against it. Nobody should be allowed to tell anyone who they can love and marry.

Green goes to brown, n that's what I stand for.
Definitely happy about this, and surprised to see how many people are still totally against it, but that's just the way of the world :)

To add to this, from the confederate flags coming down to the rainbow flags going up with the White House being lit up in color, to Obamacare being here to stay we have to add......the Pope coming out with his stance on global warming.

Man........... conservatives are going like .......WTF.......?????

I can't wait for the Republican primary debates and I just hope to God that Trump will be polling in the top 10. These debates could very well end up winning an Emmy for the best Reality Show.............ever.

Good news and all.
But I'm not celebrating.
If 19 people hadn't been massacred, that flag would still be up. And I don't believe for a single second that the fact that it is down will improve the life a single human being who is suffering due to living in a country that privileges one person and punishes another because of skin color. Hell, I saw a giant confederate flag flying on the back of a pick up three days after the shooting happened.
And we all know the infinite number of gays who have died or have had to endure their human rights being violated and trampled upon before enough people figured out how fucked up it has been to do so. Btw, before anyone gets married, they better be sure their state doesn't allow their employers to persecute them. Because you better bet your bottom dollar that if they can fuck over someone based on sexual preference, they will most certainly do so.
Things aren't all that good.
But don't mind me.
I'm a misanthrope.
Most people suck.

I didn't expect to see marijuana legalized in any state in the US for recreational use anywhere near this soon either. Sometimes us cynics can get surprised.

Between the ACA and gay marriage both getting the thumbs up in the same week, the country is doomed for sure (as Foghorn Leghorn used to say, 'that's a joke son').

He's polling in second place, pretty comfortably, nationally. He will be there. Get your popcorn ready. Be careful taking drinks during the GOP debate...spit-takes can be messy.:nod:
