Here is a pic of the two flowers side by side. I hope you can see the difference.

Sorry it took me so long. I started to feel bad, and had to lay back down.

Thanks for the pic...although we did tell you to feel better before posting them! Where did you get them?

I love the way they stand like little heat distributing space filling soldiers!
amazon sells those glass flower screens and they come in 45ct with different sizes, maybe you get lucky and have few large ones in there.

It is interesting, the configuration for recommended use they chose. I thought the consensus was spacer first, flat side up.

But then, what do we know?

Look what I found!

And now available in their online store:

ohhh those spacers, they look like they just drilled holes in the oil jars. Maybe i should just add holes to the oil jars i have since i don't even use them..

There are different configurations you can use. You can even use 2 spacers with the herb sandwiched in the middle. With the two flat pieces in the middle. Try different ways and experiment and see what works best. There's no right or wrong.

They are similar looking to the oil cans, and are a nice addition. These are easily lost so I suggest you order two pair. Make sure you keep the spacers and the oven clean as they will stick to the bottom from a resin buildup.

We decided to go with that configuration because it gives you the largest load. A lot of people might think using two makes the load two small even though the vapor production is fantastic. It's also the most simple and safest configuration. 1 hot piece of glass instead of two.

Even at the office we all use them in different ways, and we couldn't come to a consensus on our own which is why it went to beta here.

Thank you guys so much for helping us with the development of these from the beginning! We owe this all to you guys!!

10 bucks for the spacers, they wont ship to europe if they only have send the spacers so I added the nice ryot pouch (14 bucks so 25 in total ) for schipping it to europe it would be an additional 41 euro at the least. those are getting to be verry expensive pieces of glass. I guess ill try dremmeling some holes on the bottom of the oil jars and try to make the sides shorter. it doesn't seem to be much more than that tbh.

Hey guys if anyone could give me some advice on my davinci ascent that would be awesome..I bought it straight from the company website, charged it long enough, but I still can't seem to get any visible vapor and i'm wondering if that means it's defective. I have been running it @ about 280-320° F, so maybe it needs to be running at a higher temp? Also since it's only me using it, i've been only half-packing the bowl and then putting the oil jar on top of the bud, but that still doesn't make the clouds visible. I can definitely taste it and feel it in my mouth and throat, but can't see any vapor, not to mention the fact that it just isn't getting me very high. Any suggestions? Much appreciated

Howdy, welcome to the Forum. Sorry you're having troubles, but I think your unit's fine.

Yes, that's too low. Try 390F as a starting place. And until you get the hang of things, don't short load the bowl and keep the jar somewhere else (it's not designed to do what you're trying to do and will make normal operation harder.

Cure (dry) your bud, grind it fairly fine, pack it a little bit, start at about 390, give it a minute between hits to recover and you should be in tall cotton. Then you can refine technique based on experience?

Hang in there, you're getting closer.

320F vapor is too hard to see - try holding a bright light up to your lips - you'll see more clouds than you think.

As @OF mentioned, try a higher temperature. I personally start at 330F and work my way up to 400F.

Also, I found best results when retracting the mouthpiece as little as possible (or using a 14mm watertool adapter as a mouthpiece).

Thank you both for the advice, I'll try all those suggestions asap. Glad to hear that the unit's probably fine, I was worried I'd have to send it back. These things are kind of tricky haha, but thanks a lot!

330 degrees is really low to be maxing out at. Personally, I would step up slowly to find my comfort zone rather than starting at the top and working down. If you started at that low of a temperature in the first place, you probable want to enjoy low temperatures anyways.

What did you think of the flavor at those temperatures even though there was no visible vapor. I can't say I've ever tried an Ascent that low.

Out of the 13 Vapes I've tried since February 2014. My Davinci Ascent is the best tasting vaporizer I own in the 330-350F temp range.

Very little vapor, but oh my god there's almost TOO much flavor at those temps!

The Crafty lets you take it as low as you want to go. :2c:

And how's the taste compare to the Ascent in the 330-350F range? (Crafty is still on my list of vapes to own one day)

I find my other conduction vaporizers tend to impart a more 'roasted' flavor into the herbs (even when running the two vapes side by side at the same temperature with identical load sizes)

Yeah I'm really interested in this as well. I haven't had a chance to try the crafty yet since I've been in China, but I've heard really great things. How does the taste compare to the Ascent?

I haven't used the Ascent enough to give a good comparison. The few times that I've used the Ascent, the flavor was very good, but I never used low temps so I can't really offer an objective and fair comparison. Hell, I've never even used my Crafty under 180°C, so I'm not in a position to make any judgement on low temp comparisons.

I usually start a fresh bowl at 180°C, have tried lower but not felt any effects but the flavour is delicious, on the tip of the tongue and gently inhaling. On a second or third session I go higher and the ABV is not nearly as tasty. If the bud is very dry the vapour is harsh, not nice but still potent until there is no more vapour. A glass of fruit juice helps the process, definitely don't dump ABV unless I want to show someone the valine experience with a fresh load in the Ascent. Haven't tried any other Vaporizer, don't feel the need :ko:
