Other than easier to clean, I don't like the fixed glass. Both stem and gong fixed screens pass a lot of material. Sometimes my herb is dry and will grind fine, and sometimes not. I want stems that do both well. Moveable screens stop this material much better in my experience. The fixed screens are simplier to clean though, but the movable screen stems aren't too bad to clean either.

That posted note on shipping from epic comes up frequently. About every two pages someone mentions it. I have not run into that with other web suppliers, so I suspect it is an epic situation. Maybe it's a default message as they get the item ready. But it is annoying for anxious vaporists, lol.

You need a more course of a grind to get better results. A one type/style grinder doesn't always work well. There are times where I need a fine, medium or course grind. Do what works for you. Many prefer the basket style stems. It's nice to have a variety IMO

EDIT:
I would like to eventually get a JoDa stem. I know that @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd has a lot on his plate right now. When things settle down and he gets caught up. That striped candy cane style is awesome. I would choose bright blue, purple and green. Good call on the glass screens @ataxian .

I ordered 2 fixed glass screens and 2 adjustable. (GonG's)
I will see what @shredder means?

Sorry Shredder I did not mean to be so rude!

By the way the NANO works well!

I love how those joda stems look, but I won't be using the stem, basically ever. I'm a GonG guy. Make some bitchin' lookin gongs and we got a deal!

Lol clearly you've missed his thread

Great stuff! Thanks for re-posting some Joda/nano porn!

My Delta 3D super scoop came today. Many thanks @Ratchett for getting it out so quickly!!! Haven't had a chance to try it out yet (just grabbed the mail) and probably won't have time to play with it until tomorrow. Will post a quick review after I do, but it does look perfect for the nano and totally cool as shit!!

Fixed glass stem vs. adjustable screens (adjust-a-bowl)... First, see my post from last week that I think gives a pretty good synopsis and comparison of the two.

Beyond that, most of it comes down to personal preferences. If you have a nano, you should already know how versatile it is (or get to figuring that out if you like). If you're here still thinking about getting one, believe me and the many others through this thread about the almost unbelievable versatility. The difference in screens is really just another tool to increase that versatility.

I strongly prefer the adjustable screens. Not to re-hash the lengthy post I linked to above too much, but quick reasons why: adjustable (duh!), can get load very close to heat, easy to switch out when you're ready to vape and not clean glass or screens, finer "mesh" so OK to grind finer (which I prefer when vaping).

There's nothing wrong with the glass screens (except reports of breakage of some on this last batch), but they don't really suit my vaping preferences with the nano as well as the adjustable ones. I love to tease @ataxian and others about which is best, but truth be told what is best is up to the user. Arguments about which is truly "the best" are about as worthwhile as those about the best looking wood for your nano, the best flavor of ice cream or best favorite color! And, I wouldn't worry too much about the recent breakage issues. From what we've seen here, Epic is getting right on replacements and I'm sure doing all they can to be sure the issue is eliminated soon (probably already). Andy doesn't make the glass himself, and it seems in his ongoing search for decent, reliable 3rd party vendors to produce them he found a dud.

For those that have trouble keeping up with the thread, I will reiterate one important tip about the glass screens... If you like your grind so fine that you are getting material through it, just put in a small ss screen on top of the glass screen - same as many do with the solo. I find the exact same screens (1/2"? can't recall. I bought more than a 100 of them some time ago), fit in the nano glass screen set-ups. Or, if using a glass screened GonG put another screen in the GonG end (an EQ basket screen works well). IME if you're using the glass screens naked it makes more sense to not grind at all (or grind very coarse), then grind a little while stirring after first hit or two or dump, grind and use remainder in adjust-a-bowl or with an ss screen on top of glass screen.

If you enjoy your nano as much as I do, you'll probably be ordering more accessories - or another nano - before too long. If curious about the other set up than what you already have, pick the other up and try for yourself. You might just find you prefer the other one better! Before adjust-a-bowls I went through this with the older ss screen set up. Would have sworn they were by far the best, but switched mostly to glass screens after a month or so. After that, I stuck with the glass screens until the adjust-a-bowls came out about 6 months later. So, preferences can change too. Doubt you'll get stuck with any you don't like. If you're not a vape and accessory pack rat like me, I'm sure you could sell either on the classifieds for a couple bucks less than you paid - if not full retail price.

Look my friends, brothers, sisters, comrades :
Whatever floats your boat!
I just like cannabis!
I've tried a lot of vaporizers however powerful they were hard to use?
The NANO is the best medical device I have tried!
I have adjustable and fixEd GonG's to arrive before the week-end!
Why do I like the NANO?
Ease of use - Flavor - Medication - the use of my Water Tool's!

Love it for all those reasons and a couple more. PLUS it gets you f'n ripped on the smallest amount of material!

Especially through an adjustable screen!!

No, not joking. Just providing another point of view.

Diencephalic syndrome.
In repondance to your option I ordered a set of adjustable GonG's to try out!

Personally I have liked the fixed glass GonG's for my ATAXIA (sca)

I order both 14mm and 18mm due to the variation of my glass collection, !

But in all sincerity no hard feelings!

I might find a new waý?

Is staining one of these yourself a thing or no? I was thinking I could be a bit of a cheap ass and get the basic maple e nano and just stain it myself.

Is there an online shop to get a log vape in (continental possibly) EU?
Log vapes don't generally go to resellers. They're not assembly line products.

That's a rare question. Here's a better suggestion. If you don't like plain maple, walnut, or cherry, get an exotic. I recently bought a 2nd nano-plain maple-and can't imagine ruining the look or finish with stain.

Yeah, I don't think we've ever heard here of someone staining their log. Definitely with @max ... probably better to go with a wood you like from Epic or a custom. @Snappo sells some beautiful blanks for a really gorgeous exotic. Check out his thread for many samples and availability.

If you still want to stain, be sure you get in touch with Epic (Nadia or Andy) before you finalize your order. All nanos come finished (all or at least mostly shellac) that would probably block stain. Would think extremely difficult to clean that off without some very deep sanding - and that probably wouldn't be good.

It's OK to be thrifty. But in this case there's not much need to.

Once you apply the discount code to an exotic Nano, you wind up paying about the same as a standard kit.

It's simple. Prior to your purchase, register at the site. Then apply code, fclove, at check out.

Example: Exotic maple burl, $219.. With 10% discount, $197.10.

Only $2. more than standard walnut or cherry, and $7. more than standard maple.

You may want to try the code again. I've used it for purchasing everything from accessories to standard units and "tested" many times to check on prices before posting them here.

It does work on exotics! At least it just did 2 minutes ago, and wasn't logged in with my username.

Haven't had it fail other than when site update was in process a few months ago. Not sure if you are required to be registered to use it, but don't think so. I can use it without logging in, but might be due to cookies.

EDIT: Sorry @The Stranger ! Just did a better read of your post and saw you specifically said maple. I had tested with a standard cherry. When I switched to maple the code was dropped and had a message at top of the cart page in red saying "Sorry, it seems the coupon "fclove" is invalid - it has now been removed from your order." Must be something new. I did notice the maple one is listed for a few $ less, now. Might want to consider a cherry or walnut. Seems maple is the only one throwing out the code, and the 10% discount is more than the $6 price drop on the maple.
