My favorite piece with the Lotus is a Sheldon Black Travel Bubbler, skinny tall, and really preserves the flavor; cooling but relatively minimal diffusion compared to something like the D020 (which I prefer more for concentrates). D020 just puts the bowl and torch too close to my face for comfort and IMO robs a little too much flavor with the matrix perc.

With the Sheldon, I use a bent L-shaped mouthpiece to put some distance and give a good viewing angle.

buddy down in CA just wrote and told me there was a big herb to do at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and I noticed in the category of best vaporizer, conspicuously absent was even a mention of The Lotus.

blasts like that may be all bullshit but still, it made me realize that great things (like The Lotus!) often disappear. "Oh you're in love with that? Well we stopped making those . . . "

have bought three now, one for me and two as gifts for friends and I never miss an opportunity to sing its praises--but one thing I've noticed: everyone and I mean everyone's an expert on vaporizers now but no one I've mentioned it to has ever even heard of much less seen The Lotus--but as soon as they see/try mine they fall in love.

point? we must campaign for our beloved Lotus, shout if from rooftops and buy spares and stocking stuffers for our friends. we must make The Lotus live forever . . .

Right now I own a whole mess of vapes and don't think any of 'em would have been mentioned in a 2015 best-of poll at some dumb MJ event like that, That's all commercial bullshit as far as I can see.

I believe the lotus has a great reputation and ain't going No-Where, even though I rarely use my lotus's these days I have recommended it to friends who won't part of their old bong habits, once they use it most buy one(or two) on their own.

Word of mouth and positive reviews on Forums such as this will in the long run mean a lot more then a one-time mention at a soon forgotten stoner MJ convention i would hope.

OK y'all are putting up with a lot from a noob, but somewhere in all my wanderings here I saw a link to something about videos to watch when you're vaked--but no amount of searching will lead me back to it now.

Y'all seen what I'm talking about? Any clues, ye maestros?

I just received my Hammer recently and it's pretty great, but...

I've wanted a Lotus for years, yet never got around to it. Thinking I should order one during the sale since two seconds heating time beats 40 seconds, so to those who've used both, is there any functional difference between the short and long aluminum pipes?

IME the long one cools the vapor a tad better and I always preferred it to the short one… The Lotus will make you happier for sure! :tup:

One more question for now: What's the draw resistance like? Despite it working very well I dislike the Solo due to its heavy draw resistance, and even the Hammer has a little more than I like.

Still waiting on my Lotus to arrive, went looking for butane today to be prepared. Anyone on here ever used Zippo butane? It is the only thing I've been able to find except Ronsonol. I'm hoping it will work acceptably with the lighter that comes with the vape.

I would personally avoid those two, your looking for 3x filtered or higher butane with the proper nozzle to fill a jet lighter not to refill a Zippo or lamp.

The nozzle will fit fine, judging based on other jet lighters I've seen, but I'm afraid it's gonna gunk up the lighter. No great loss if it does, I suppose. When/if it breaks I'll just order a new lighter and some better butane.

The problem is performance. You need a torch to stay lit the entire time you use it. Using poor quality butane will increase the chances of your torch not only clogging up, but also sputtering out mid-hit.

The most annoying thing in the world when using the Lotus is when your torch sputters out halfway through a huge milky rip! :argh:

Who knows, you might get lucky and get a solid torch that works with any butane you throw at it (it's a hit or miss, some of my torches NEVER sputter out, others sputter out the second I get within 15mm of the hotplate)
