Great Scott!
Am I crazy, or are there no more batteries for sale on the firefly store? I've been using my firefly almost exclusively with my mighty collecting dust lately, but I'm gunna need confidence that I can continue to get batteries.

While I "patiently" wait for them to put those back on the store, has anyone found a cheaper car charger that works? Or is the $30 one from firefly really the only option?

I would LOVE them to release a firefly 2. I don't even know what I'd change besides battery improvements, the one thing every vape can use.

Yeah, I hit them up again and they immediately claimed it was the unit causing the issue. Not sure how they reached that conclusion...

At this point maybe it's just as well. They are almost certain to send you a new FF, which is probably a good thing.

You are not crazy. They've been out for a few weeks now, I think. Just chatted with someone there and they will be in stock "end of June" which means early next week I guess.

As for the FF2, yeah, what the hell, radio silence. Though personally I prefer the "here's the completed production model, pre-orders start now" approach from manufacturers over the endless feature-hand-wringing that occurs with some other vapes. :p But the suspense, and the wait, (and the not knowing how long to wait)...too much.

Wouldn't that mean conduction though? Fuck that haha.

Yeah that's not happening.

Light up the world
Question on the concentrate pads. I love my FF, and want to try the concentrate pads they started selling. Is it me or is 10 bucks to ship 3 small pads in an envelope that only cost 8 bucks seem excessive? Is there a better rate somewhere? I'm in the US.
The 3 pads last forever I been using the same exact 1 I got out my 3 pack and it's been 3 months and it still works perfect like new

Ive been using an arizer air for months and it crapped out on me, after reading and hearing so much about the firefly, i decided to pull the trigger. I read through the best of and most of the past 20ish pages. I've had 3 bows on this since i got it and cant seem to get it right still lol. I preheat like 8 seconds and let go, then push the button again and draw but dont seem to be getting decent clouds. im definitely getting high but i know this thing can get more out of this. Just need to figure it out.

Also, should i have wiped this thing down with iso first? i read in many places that this was considered the best tasting vape but it seems to be leaving a weird aftertaste in my mouth. same strains tasted wonderful on tha air. gonna finish up charging, wipe it down and try again. hopefully i get it right lol.
When u hold those 7. Seconds preheat don't let go then. Start inhaling slow but steady. Once it green light stops blinking let go and you'll see your first hit is that light tasty vapor shot. Then on exhale get your breath back then press button again and hold the whole 30 second s and inhale that whole time if your lungs can last that long and remember pull softly slow but steady cause slow steady hits gets most vapor and fast pulls get less vapor. Cheers lemme know how it went for ya. You made the right choice getting a firefly

Thanks man. It's been great while my air has been out for warranty, needed a backup anyways so why not the vape everyone raves about right lol. Honestly love the Damn thing. Only thing the air has on this imo is that it tastes better longer. If that makes sense lol. I have gotten it to work better whenever I get the pack right lol. Still messing with it lol..

One thing I did notice is that with longer draws, it gets really fucking hot. Like uncomfortable to hold. Over heated and the light went yellow on me twice. Burning my fingers as we speak lol;) should it be getting this hot ? Maybe I still dont have the packing down right lmao. Who knows. Gonna keep playing and hope my fingers can keep up with the heat :science:

Also, how often do you guys clean? My lid and all the vapor channels seem to get really yellow and resin-y after just a bowl or two

Conduction? How is that? I don't follow your reasoning.

I was thinking more along the lines like a better designed bowl to optimize even herb browning. Maybe a donut or torus shaped bowl so the center would not be a cool spot. Or a stirring device built into the lid window. The Smart vape has a stirring method that is rather clever. It would not take too much engineering to improve this on the Firefly especially that other vapes have shown the way.

Well in all fairness the Elevape stir lid is far from perfect. I actually don't even use mine much, better to crack her open really flip the load, just like the firefly.

I do think the grasshoppers design is key, with its spiraling heated air through a tube. The tube chamber itself is a really much like what Thermovape did going from T1 to Evolution (though that had other issues with the design). Plus precison temp control...

That's what I want to see from firefly, some temp variations, along with battery, weight, etc

Ive had a few weeks with the 770 battery they sent me and it seems to be working. The 750 battery displayed a solid red light while charging so I set it aside and haven't used it since. The 770 battery has only displayed blinking blue and solid blue like it should.

Just got my new FF. It's such a nicely built device - it really is worth every penny. I should know too - because I have an MFLB.
It came with the 770 mAh battery which I read somewhere is a bit better than the original battery.
I need a wall charger adapter and it hasn't arrived yet - but I was still able to take a few tokes on the battery's existing charge. Took in a deep draw which was light and cool and there was a vape cloud twice as big as any from my MFLB. It was a nice body hit too.
I got 4 - 5 smaller hits afterwards and the battery died. Now I'm just waiting for that damned wall adapter! So glad I bought it though. I got the red one :)

Wait, your FF didn't come with an AC adaptor? You should be able to just charge the battery in the Firefly by connecting the AC adaptor directly to the FF. Did you not get the adaptor with your unit?

Oh yes, it came with an AC wall charger. But it's the US two-pin plug and I'm in the UK. The retailer has ordered me a UK 3-pin adapter for the wall charger, but it's arriving late.
Sorry, I should've mentioned I'm in the UK.

I noticed that the bowl got quite warm after a few successive draws. The heat then travels down its steel body to the battery area. So I took off the back plate and left the battery exposed to cool it down a little. Hopefully, this will give the battery some longevity.

Ah. That explains it. Hopefully you get the adaptor ASAP. Hate to think you are jonesing to use your new FF! Let us know how you get on once you have unlimited recharge ability. :)

So you guys are putting a screen on the top of your herb? This helps make it hotter or more even or something?

Some people do this. I personally use a top screen towards the end of a bowl...it keeps the lid cleaner (at a time when the herb is getting more powdery and flying around more), raises the temperature noticeably when you need higher temps the most, and generally aids in more thorough extraction.

Just keep in mind it will raise the temps in the bowl, so go easy on the heat button when you first start with the extra screen, until you get the hang of it.

:cry:Whyyy!

So the Coil has stopped heating on my precious FF, cut out on me mid-session!

All charged batteries produce the green led, which pulsates when the button is pressed, but the coil doesn't heat.

This is a known problem in this thread, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the cause, is it inevitable wear?
My FF is only 4 months old.

This will be my 2nd warranty replacement for dead coil. Does any one have a working unit over a year old?

Well, my friend, there is some dark synchronicity here. Last night, mid-session, my six-month-old silver FF died. Like yours. Green lights, no coil heating. This was the fourth silver FF to fail, and my eighth failure overall. And at least my fourth "dead coil" failure. I personally haven't had an FF last longer than six months. I was pretty optimistic about my most recent two...but there we are.

I agree with Grokit, it could be an internal circuit failure. Or a dead coil. Either way, yeah, thank god for that warranty.

Mine's going back via FedEx tomorrow or Wednesday. Onward.

I hate to say this after Mitch's post (sorry Mitch!) and because I fear the almighty jinx but....my firefly is in a amazing shape. I still love it and it's still awesome. Not one dent in the paint yet. I haven't cleaned it two weeks and no problems!

I think this must be the second time I'm recharging the FF.
However, while on recharge the flashing blue light (indicating charging) keeps going onto solid red (which I think means it's not recharging).

Can anyone please say if this has happened before?

That usually means the FF itself is too hot and needs to cool down, assuming you are charging directly in the FF.

Unplug it for ten minutes and try it again.

Wow it worked! Thanks very much!
I did re-insert the wall plug and waited for some time before trying again, but that didn't work.
So I took out the battery from the FF, re-inserted it and now it's charging fine - I have the blinking blue light!

Thanks so much for the help. After reading about people having to return their units, I was put in a bleak mood. But thank goodness it's due to a fail-safe in the battery.

In a flurry of bizarre light issues that have surfaced here in the past month....yours was the only one that I've experienced before (and knew what to do about). One of my FFs in the past was very sensitive to this....even slightly warm it would throw a red when first plugged in. It would usually respond to just a fast plug/unplug cycle.

Glad you're working again!
