The old units were more or less flush at the top when the cooling unit was removed. The new ones have a taller ridge that accepts the cooling unit locking mechanism to strengthen that area.

^ I ran it on 410F for 5 min. Not sure if it matters but I'm a little OCD about that kind of stuff (just the term "factory oils" makes me shiver lol).
But holy crap dude this thing kicks my ass. I put a measly 0.1-0.15g in there just to test it out and I got five MASSIVE hits and was stupid high for like 3 hours. No knock on the Air (my other vape) but the Mighty appears to be way more efficient and packs a bigger punch.
This thing will be my main work horse at home for a long time hehe.

Well sent my mighty off to randy for warranty..he sent me two day label and she was off..I miss her already but the lad had gotten to the point where it hardly worked anymore and it affected the heater or the other way around or both had issues..so we shall see..I just got a minivap two weeks ago and it was hard to put mighty down but now I'm forced..come to me minivap..let me show you how a lady needs to be treated....

How long ago did you send it off? He posted on Reddit a couple days ago that S&B had changed their warranty replacement policy and now all issues are handled by S&B rather than the retailer.

He just sent me a label yesterday and I sent it off today..it's going to puffitup in Las Vegas so not too sure about that..

He told me that S&b have changed their policy and want to handle all warranty replacements themselves. I assume that means they send it off to S&B. Let us know how many days it takes to get your replacement.
I contacted S&B and they said that they haven't changed any policies so I am not sure what I'd going on there.

Well after one day of owning my new friend, all I can say is wow. I certainly wasn't ready for a while bowl full.
The Chamber actually looked smaller in real life than it did in pictures so I thought "go on, fill it up, its not big don't be a pansy" That certainly got me well set up for the Primus gig last night.
I was loving how trippy I felt it was like being a teenage stoner again. I'm ni lightweight either I've been a self medicater for well over twenty years and this really took me by surprise.
I think I may have got an older design unit which is my only gripe.Especially as Vapefiend state on their site that they stock the latest 2015 model. My serial number is in the 13000's and I don't think there is any reinforcement of the bayonet fitting on the top.
I'll let that one slide Vapefiend this time as it will give me a positve side to any returns I may have to make at a later date.
All in all I am far from disappointed. This is an epic vaporizer and gives a high that truly is on another level.

S&B doesn't have unified and consistent messaging ...I've SEEN the new housing here multiple times, but they told me there was no updated housing
Don't worry, the older models are a little bit better (imo) and there is not too much different about the newer ones aside from housing. Glad your enjoying the mighty!

S&B told me three weeks ago that the only way to get a model with the new upgraded housing was to order from them directly.

Sounds like a defective unit. The good news is that since you just send back the heater base you will now have an extra cooling unit and accessory set. Assuming you are in the USA, call S&B, hit #0 to get to the "receptionist" and ask her to email you a prepaid return label. Put your heater base in the original box with a nice letter and proof of purchase and send it in. You will be back in business in about a week.

edit: cleaned the cooling unit out, sorta working better now?
edit2: wow, i was fucking up, didn't have my cooling unit secured the entire time i was using it. cleaned out tons of debris inside the cooling unit and fastened it on correctly and - this thing is just beasting it now. classic user error issues

I do. It will heat up whatever surface it is on though and will burn your leg if you leave it there.
