I did end up getting a Nitecore battery charger from Amazon vs buying the battery charger that's made for the Air. I have been watching to see if anybody had any issues. I will be using the batteries made for the Air because I don't want to take any chances. We will be going on a road trip with the RV in a week, want to be prepared. I will have 4 total batteries, I should be set along with the Nitecore.

4 bats and a nitecore should serve you really well!!

Been using the nitecore d2 for the Air's bats since i got the Air in February. Been using the nitecore even longer for other bats. I use it more than the in-unit charger. Just easier to take one battery out and pop a new one in then plug it in and wait...

Im sure you prolly read it in this thread once or twice already, but it does take a noticeably longer time to charge than doing it in unit. I average 4 to 5 hours for a complete charge from dead.

Of course if you have 4 bats, you can have 2 charging while your using the other 2. I think thats a perfect setup there!! I have 3 bats and been thinking about adding one more myself just for those weekend trips.

Hope you have a great time!!

I just ordered an extra battery and charger from Puffit for my AA. Also tried a wooden stem. Loving the AA.

So urm... @VapeFiend.com let me have at these early (cheers guys)

FINALLY BLACK GLASS STEMS! - they are Canadian made apparently, and feel just as good as the Arizer ones.:clap:

Particularly fond of the stubby one on my Air. Makes it look a lot less obvious in public - no resin coated clear stem on show now!

Ah they look great!

How much?

When can I buy one?

Thanks :)

{edit}

Ah they have just been listed on the website! £16 for anyone that's wondering.

Could you let me know the length of both stems please. Can't believe they have missed that out in the product description!

The short one is 65mm

and the long stem measures 115mm

These are my own measurements, not sure what they are supposed to be - or if there is any slight variations etc. I'm quite impressed with the quality of them.

**Edit; looks like Vapefiend have listed the lengths as 116mm and 66mm so I'm a mm out ;)

What about the plastic tip one's? I really don't care for a mp that promotes drool. I even wen't as far as breaking a nano stem and putting a small bit of silicone on it, Because at the time there was no other option for a better mp. I really like glass stems for flavor but can't stand that large circle mp that some have.

fuckin' combustion 1 vaporizer at a time.

received AA a couple of days ago. bought an extra batter as well.

mostly been running it on high (red).

this morning, i let it chill on lowest (blue).

while sipping, slow bumps in temp kept vapor production up.

by the time i switched to green (mid),

i was way vaked!!

look forward to more of this.

i plan on ordering the PVHES.

i have the domed screens en route.

thanks everyone. w/o your postings and FC forums, id be a totally lost vaporist/wannabe.........

I too am learning my AA, and I think traveling from blue to green to red (or white orange, those always confuse me) is the way to get best session. Once that small amounts gets going, it milks nicely.

Awesome black mouthpieces from Vapefiend.

Here is my travel case along with the car charger.
It's a memories camera case that I bought through eBay for $6 a while back. It's pretty durable too. No a hard case but pretty tough. It's about 5 1/2 inches by 4.

I contacted PV and they said there is nothing they can do.

Anyone else have some thin walls on the PV gong?
At least I don't have to clean it.

Saving up for many more gongs.:haw:

Sometimes I'm feeling in need of a quick potent session and short on time so take a session on white. It usually means I'm toast, and if I ever sneak up to green for a hit or two I'm done.

For me nothing beats blue. Blue is the buzz for me. Even though at times I have to remind myself of that.

And after a couple of months of use I'm officially of the opinion that even on blue the AA provides very nice vapor indeed, provided proper technique: keep the glass screen clean, dome a screen over top of the holes, don't fight the slowish draw, lift the stem ever so slightly only when absolutely needed, and of course don't expect lots of vapor on the first hit or two (though plenty of good stuff gets through without the heavy vapor show). On ¾ bowl on the longer stem I can get at least six nice hits, three with nice vapor, and a couple of lighter ones on either end. On blue.

@CarolKing - very nice set up. Looks like a curved Solo stem in there? Now that stem would look nasty (good nasty that is) in black!

@Ratm22, sorry to see your broken glass. I've been tempted but have shied away from the notched bowl stems. Cutting grooves into the bowl has to compromise its integrity.

Stay right all!

Bummer. While Ataxian is our broken glass expert around here, I can confidently say that guy has gone to stem heaven.

You might consider using the plastic topped stems for GonG duty? The still break too, but are 'always in stock' and ten bucks each.......

Better luck with the next one.

I know this question was asked many many times before in this thread but i cant find the answer and my AIR is finally at home, so i'd reallly like to test it today. So your most hated question:

Should i charge it full before the first use of the unit??
(A YES OR A NO IS ENOUGH, i dont need many instructions, yes i will buy a nitecore d2 soon)

I hope somebody helps me because im working now and getting home in a couple of hours.

PS.: The answer of this question should be posted in the best of AA thread to avoid the questions like mine :D

BTW: I ordered from vapefiend a titanium colored AA, 2 Extra batts, solo/air screen pack(10) and silicone tubing for my old friend the EQ :)

Yes.

For maximum battery capacity and long life always fully change (many recommend 'overcharge' the first time) before you use any product using this class of batteries. Ideally they come shipped (and stored) at about 70% charge and should to be 'charged to the top' the very first time before discharging any.

So I have seen lots of people on here use nitecore chargers to charge their battery's.

Normally either the d2 or d4.

I have just seen they also do a version called um20.

Looks tempting because it has a % meter as the battery is charging.

Anyone have any experience or opinions of this charger?

Thanks :)

Never used this one but I'm sure it will perform well, and with a smaller size than the d2 it could be good for weekends away when space is short, or even the single cell version for if really short on space, there are faster chargers but faster is both good and bad, good for time saving but bad for overall battery life so you have to decide what's more important, personally I don't mind having to replace a battery a little sooner for the time saved charging (but I have a shit load of batteries not just for the air lol and get through around 6 per day, if I had less batteries to charge a slow charge would work fine for me)
