Hola Knax, i used this guy for my wand:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WHIP-FOR-...771?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f4e0c2673

asked him for a gg one and he sorted me out, really helpful chap and he sells othe EQ stuff. Dunno if he could sort you out but never know...

Thanks a tonne mate! I've sent him a message about the ground glass, hope he responds soon :D

another question, what is the diameter of the SSV wand? im gonna buy the silicone tubing from the lab supplies store and id like maximum airflow,so if anyone who owns a SSV wand would be kind enough to measure the interior diameter of the part where you connect the tube in the SSV wand that would be SICK!;)

The tube is 0.500", and the ridge in the whip is 0.455" average.

Hey FC, been reading this thread a couple weeks and i thought i'd give my :2c:.

I got my extreme q back in january secondhand, the old, metal cover one and havve been using it since. GREAT vape experience so far (got a silicone whip like 2 weeks in) but after reading through tis iv'e decided to get a hold of those DDave mod pieces and a better substitute for my elbow piece (as i already broke one of them).
My problem has been that i live in EUROPE goddamnit :(:( and it seems like no european stores sell nice vape accesories and GonG pieces, so i have been searching around and hafe found some options, in case you find yourself ina a similar situation.

The polish page recommended on this thread was a great discovery, it sells the DDave adapter as well as many super cheap bongs and wax nails:D The best part is, polish coin is worth about 1/4 euro!!! Also i have found that the prices expressed in their shipping department on the page are totally wrong an actually they charge very little for postage (at least to spain) the link to the ddave piece is : http://unikatowebonga.pl/pl/wszystkie/669-szklana-przejsciowka-188-mm-188-mm.html (yah, i know its in polish, but the english version of the page doesnt work as well)

Thanks for posting the link. I'm thinking of getting an extreme Q last this year (when my current grow finishes). I was looking where I could get a Ddave mod from in europe. Does this come with screens as well?

I'm also thinking of getting a D020d bubbler to go with it. what adapters do I need to go with it?

Don't know about the screens in the F-F adapter, haven't ordered them yet, but i may ask them if they can put one in, but i think with the SSV wand it's not really necessary if you put the arizer elbow screen in there.

For the bubbler you just need to be sure that it has an 18,8 mm female input, then the arizer elbow will just fit in there perfectly.

The tube is 0.500", and the ridge in the whip is 0.455" average.

Thanks man!!!!! what do you mean by "the ridge in the whip"?

I wrote whip but I meant wand. It's just that you have to push the tube really hard, because the tube side of the glass wand tapers in a little, and the inside diameter is reduced from ~0.500" (could not measure) to 0.455", forming a ridge. With the stock vinyl tubing I have to wet it so it slides in.

Before you get with trying any technique. Make sure all the normal things have been worked out.
Initially, go over the obvious things Is the unit set to Celsius or Fahrenheit? Are all the plugs Fully connected? Does the unit have enough air clearance underneath? All Good? (BTW, I have been giving my 2 cents recently in the Arizer EQ forum.)

The Cyclone bowl really does need to heat up fully and should be the first indicator if you are on the right path. Until you have worked out the kinks/bugs/trouble shooting/learning curve, etc I would stick with the stock cyclone bowl initially. There are some posts throughout the EQ thread mentioning this. This is mostly a convection vaporizer. So the air inside needs to reach full temp first. If the glass is already fully heated, then the chamber will keeps up it's heat better and at a better constant. Instead of say, cooling off the glass with each draw and making the unit ramp up all over again. As for me, I will actually wait for the elbow piece to get a little warm before using.

Normally, I have been elbow packing first to get familer. Then later on, empty everything into the cyclone part. Because it is already that much hotter. I don't have to fiddle with the knobs or the bowl so much. Which contributes to speeding up my learning curve. hope this helps.
What temp do you aim for?
my screen is tilting?
Is it too big?

dome it a little ataxian, i take it you mean the screen in the tuff bowl? if so then yeah just dome it and get it in there as level as you can

if you arent already i would recommend packing the elbow screen instead of the cyclone bowl. im right in thinking you havent modded anything yet right?

as to temps i start at 180c and move on up in 10 degree steps

elbow screen on other end of whip attaches to 18mm bubbler

I noticing the screen tilt and wonder if I need a smaller screen?
I'm learning!

like i say mate yo can use a smaller but i remember people saying airflow was better if you dome the screen so it fits. i use the end of a piece of dowel but anything should work

mods could be changing bowl for a fem-fem 18mm adaptor or using a ssv wand instead of the elbow etc

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Finally got my Replacement EQ in.:luv: I've already made changes to my whip attachment before it even showed up. Pretty much cut the PVC whip in half and use the long glass balloon attachments for extensions. Add a few inches of silicone tubing between the elbow piece and the reconstructed whip. Add my favorite glass hookah tip on the other end. Now I have that much more flexibility to bend and fashion the whip comfortably and say read the FC forum.

What temp do you aim for?

180c is what I usually start at. If the unit is fully warmed up. Then +4 degrees at a time. But no more than 230c. But then again YMMV.
There are at least a few considerations for temp. Plus this unit allows for a few other variables, if you like to play around with the temp gauge and the fan. This thing ramps up almost instantly but cools down quite slowly. I found running the fan doesn't really cool it down much faster. Something to keep in mind when playing around with the buttons.:spidey:

Elbow packs are farther away from the heat element than using the cyclone. So, if you are looking for an ideal temp, consider adding say 6-8 more degrees, if it is an elbow pack.
Or let it heat up longer at your ideal temp, if slow cooking is your thing.:D Also Elbow packs are usually densely packed.

Your cyclone bowl screen is tilting? or your elbow? You can use any stainless steel screen that size for the cyclone, if that is an issue. The one inside your bowl can be popped out and reworked/replaced. You could perhaps crimp the corners slightly with a pair of tweezers and have somewhat more of a dome shape screen that might cover the hole, if it is just being figity.
Even if you only do elbow packs. the flat screens in the cyclone bowl can there as "crumb catchers." I use 3 flat screens when I heat up anything in the cyclone bowl. Plus I find it is easier to dump that extra screen out and clean it. Less work with the glass piece. Whats fun is taking a draw and have a full screen float to the top of the bowl like a magic carpet.

I like the SOLO way better so far!
ataxian give it a couple of try's buddy. The eq is way more powerful than the solo. It will get you medicated quicker and produce twice the clouds. The only thing I can say I like better about the solo is it's portable but the eq kills it in every other way . It takes a lil time to master the eq but once you do you will really like it.

do I load the screen hat that fits in the elbow?

The instructions I find very vague?

Hey @ataxian !
You have to give it more time , enjoy more time at low temps!
I believe EQ have to work at low temps!
I found the ballon is not the faster and the most beatiful work that EQ make is the ddave mode ! I found that the fan is not worked well than i would like to. However , i like it for a special work that is ddave mode.

You can do both dude put some in the elbow some in the bowl and u get more overall heated airflow. also any plant matter the finer drier the grind the better. What I do is turn the grinder upside down and just keep going then evenly distibute it onto a piece of card folded down the middle so u can then just funnel it into either site to vape from.... my biggest question is how to get it to hit as hard as a bong does what is the best temp I'm guessing fan 1 though and a bag

@ataxian I've always loaded that top hat looking screen. That's how I get the best results. Also it uses a lot less herb and gets bigger and better hits.
@mikeybmw I have my eq set up basically like the evo with a small hydratube. I was using the whip into a water piece but didn't like the way it felt choked off. This has a lot better air flow and hits identical to a "bong"
Just another example of the versatility of the eq

I've yet to try mine through a bong all my glass is 14.4 mm but I found a simple solution to this is to stick another elbow on the end of the whip then I made my own expander from a 18.8 mm downpipe by cutting it after the 14.4 mm joint then grinding it down with a dremel

You can do both personally I don't load the elbow but many do with great results . I load my Ddave adapter set my temp to like 380f and work my way up slowly and get such big vapor production , I usually run through a water tool also.

My next mod will be a 18female-18male adapter. I'm going to try this instead of the female-female cyclone or Ddave adapter. I have my eye on a middle of the road ht that's bigger than the little pinnacle ht. I know some are worried about water spilling but I guess I'm not 1 of them.

I received my Q Thursday.

Today I finally hooked it up and turned it on.

Works very nice actually!
Can you give me a lesson? Hahahaha. I can't seem to get it to perform the way I am reading it is capable of. I have had it quite a while and after too many attempts I am back to combustible....Help!!

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Best results with conventional pieces - Low temps (180c +4 over time up till 230) + longer session.

Stir only once to keep heat in the cyclone. Vapor becomes more visible around 190c. But if you draw hard or sip real low you can pull more of the visible vapor out. Hope this helps from one new user.

Easy removal tip. Just blow once into whip to clear elbow screen before removing it from the cyclone. If you accidentally blow too hard, put an extra in the elbow and forget it OR have a long pair of tweezers handy. I keep a cleaning brush handy too.

Any Ddave mod or screen trick that brings the materials closer to the element relies more on radiant heat than all hot air. IF that is desirable. I'd familiarize with what comes with the kit in the EQ (and read the FC forums:cool:) before getting that 18mm piece. :2c: As for me, I'm thinking a well designed elbow piece with quality glass would trap more heat which would be great for elbow packing. Anybody buy from Oregon glass?
