FlowerMate V5 Pro or X-Max V2. Which one?

Hey there guys, I've been lurking for a while now and would like to ask the question as above. I know the X-Max has an isolated airpath and swappable batteries, but the FM seems to be much more popular.

I'd like to know if there is any definitive answer as to which is the best. If anyone who owns both would like to give me there 2 pennies I'd be really grateful.

Many thanks :)

@Shit Snacks Might be one of the better qualified to help, I'm still on the fence about the X-Max. Indeed the Flowermate seems more popular

I have both. Get the FM5-Pro without any hesitation!

The X-Max V2 Pro taste is pretty bland, I can't explain why. The vapor path is way too short with the default silicone mouthpiece and thus the vapor is very hot. It's slow to reach temperature but the body becomes very hot after 5 minutes, not very powerful due to the single cell, and battery life is pretty short (granted you can swap cells and USB charge, those are the positive aspects)

The "pen" factor is not that stealthy in practice. It's too large to pass as an e-cig and draws attention when in use. When not in use the FM5 can pass as a USB hard drive and I brought it to night clubs several times without any problem.

Hey hey hey

Thanks for the tag @Ratchett, now get back to that other testing you!:whip:

I've used the FlowerMate Vapormax V only, the original ~380F set temp which my was a gift formy brother, and the later ~400 set temp version (what the current FM V5.0 is set at) that is my girlfriends. I haven't tried the latest Mini or the Pro with its lower temp capability. Never tried the glass mouthpieces

The lower temp worked well once broken in and lasted a year basically, still working but they like never cleaned it so its so gunked up now I dono if it can be used or cleaned. Gave them an xmax and they're loving it, more use since it can go higher temps (personally I liked that it could go lower, definitely makes it better than the FM 5S just for that reason even, much better temps), and a little easier to keep clean vs the threads and stuff in the FM mouthpieces, plus the led in these FlowerMates (Pro and mini got rid of those).

The current 400F one was way too harsh and took a longer time to break in taste wise, with that polymide tape. Now that it has its fine, but way too high of a temp for me personally, hot and harsh, but she's been using it again now that its broken in and smokes the avb. Works fine but nothing special, she also preferred my xmax with the glass mouthpiece when she tried it overall.

I've written reviews about the new xmax v2 pro in that thread, and overall I do think its better than the FlowerMate with replaceable batteries, better temp settings, airpath isolation, and others seem to like the pen style better as well. Now that the button presses work the same I think its even better, also taste seems improved now, and the new mouthpieces are really great. However the low temps capable by the Pro could be worth it, full temp spectrum, but still FlowerMates take a lot longer to burn off factory tastes with that polymide, and open airpath and no replaceable batteries. The ovens themselves are ceramic session conduction and work more or less the same, though the FM's bottom screen is fused and much worse, xmax has a better set up in the bottom of its oven.

There's a vote for the FM then! You've definitely swayed me more in favour of the FM now. The only worry is that the FM doesn't have an isolated airpath. However that doesn't seem to be an issue from what yourself and many others have said. I'll probably wait for a few more opinions and make a decision from there. Thanks very much for your reply, really appreciate it! :)

And now I'm back on the fence... lol! I've read the FM thread and the X-Max thread and both honestly seem to be great devices, especially at their respective prices. For me the isolated airpath is a big positive for the X-Max, however I haven't heard anyone complain about the FM after the burn-off period.

There doesn't seem to be a clear winner in this battle, so purchasing both would probably be the best thing for me. They aren't expensive either so there's nothing to lose. Thanks very much for the reply, and thanks for the effort you've put in over on the X-Max thread. I enjoyed reading about all the improvements that have been made. Thanks again, appreciate it :)
