Thanks man Ill read up on that too. I really need a home unit that hits like the Crafty. At my pace, clocking in at an hour a day, im afraid that this thing might break after 3 months. And dealing with warranty is going to be very complicated.

Im from the Philippines, we have a retailer here but wont cover warranty after a week, I will have to talk directly to S&B if anything happens. Shipping back here would be the biggest problem because of the corruption in Customs, Id have to pay alot more to get my package.

Unit's on the CY017xxx range, hopefully those are the ones with the stronger casing. Anyone in that range with about a hundred hours on it? Im at 13 hours on my 11-day old Crafty.

As of now, Im taking extra precautions like trying to cool down the unit before moving the CU (even though it would be harder to clean when it gets cold) I think that when the plastic is hot, it gets extra sensitive... Any more suggestions? A home unit also would help lessen the Crafty's mileage thats why I need your suggestions on home units.

You could go with a log vape or if you want to spend less, a flame powered handheld like a vaporgenie, vapman.
Minivap hits heavy and tasty, better than Crafty too, but costs a lot.
If you have just the Crafty I'd go with some inexpensive portable like mentioned above, or a log vape, or a home unit DBV/SSV/LSV from 7th Floor.

What?
Basically you'd have to bribe the custom employee to receive what you already paid for?

Dont wanna get into that man, maybe ill see you in fuckcorruption.com :ko:

But yeah that would be a problem, thats why I dont want the Crafty to be my primary. I also medicate about 70% at home.

As for my Crafty review...

Holy shit holy shit holy shit! ECW ECW! Holy shit holy shit!

Vaporizers by their very nature tend to get hot. Don't put hot things in your pocket. :2c:

:peace:

I knew the question sounded more than a little stupid......it just generally gets very hot, particularly on the second time I turn it on in a short period after using it once.
The pocket thing was probably a bad example, the thing which had struck me was how long it took to cool down while in my pocket (which I obviously was more attuned to as it was burning my leg:lol:

I posted about my unit burning my leg last week and was told that I must be sensitive to heat as no one else had burned themselves. I have also burned my fingers in units where the fins have broken.

Guess these suckers are made to get hot! You'd think they would cool down a little easier though! Wonder if newer firmware fixes this?

@jlevine31 and @Stinky you all need to join together and put the pressure on S&B to make air conditioned craftys

all vapes get hot or warm to some degree, try putting the crafty in a back pocket while cooling down, that thin ass pocket material might not be cutting it for your comfort.

Or get a thick cloth bag to place it in and you'll be golden!

IMO S&B designed the chamber too big on the crafty and perfect on the mighty. The manual says dont overfill but doesnt explain why. The reason to NOT overfill your crafty is because it will keep the session going too long. The convection/conduction will extract everything. The battery cannot keep up. This may be personal but a pinch with LP is good. When I say pinch I mean not even covering the whole screen. Covering the screen or almost a 1/4 pack is very nice. Half pack is amazing. Again this may be personal but this is not private reserve material but not mids either. Ive read of members killing full bowls in 2 min which would solve this issue for some but I am not able to go that hard on this vape.

I thought this as well originally but I am noticing that with me cutting my combustion to a minimum (which is maybe once or twice a month with friends, and also about to be cut) my lungs seem to be stronger/healthier and I am finishing bowls quicker. I originally thought there was an issue with my crafty not working properly but realized that if I slowed my draw down it takes just as long as before. Which to me means I can now inhale more vapor faster than I could before. It is either that or my medicine is not as strong as before

Did anybody ever find another place to purchase just the fine screens? I think I remember seeing a post here or in the mighty thread, but I could be wrong. I noticed the euro store sells them in a 6 pack but when you switch over to the U.S. Shop the product disappears. (sorry if this is old news)

I have about 4 hours of use on my crafty and the vape clouds are non existent at this point. I have cleaned the cooling chamber and let it dry. Still nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Maybe it's the mouthpiece. I feel like a lot of non heated air is coming in through the mouthpiece. I hear the sound of air rushing into it when i draw. Is this normal?

Some Questions:

What Temp setting?

Using app or preset?

How long are you drawing from the Crafty?

Could it be your material?

What is your packing method?

Have you checked the Screen in the bottom chamber of the Crafty itself?

Are you at least getting medicated?

Assuming you're using the default temp and the grinder you should be fine.

Yes, the air is cool beacuse the Crafty has an excellent cooling system. And again yes, hearing air is normal, I always do as I rip my Crafty everytime.

Try slow puffs on first few, then rip it when temp goes back up

Temps tried: 175c, 180c, 185c, 345f, 360f, 196c
Booster temps tried: 7c, 10c, 15c

I was using the presets and the app.

I vary my draws from a few seconds to 10 seconds. Mediocre to bad each time.

I have tried packing with the tool, grinding fine, grinding coarse, somewhere in the middle, powder-ish. no difference. I pack the bowl to the top and light tamper. i dont go above the bowl. i stay at the plastic rim base.

i havent checked the screen at the bottom of the bowl, but it looks fine. no damage no clogging.

I am, but i have been trying all of the methods above back to back. I get some vapor cloud on the first few pulls, but then nothing. Like3 mediocre clouds. then nothing. I use the term cloud loosely.

Should there be decent resistance when pulling? It doesn't feel like there is much resistance.

I am generally slow when inhaling. I also vary the intensity at which i am pulling.

frustrating.

No not really. Crafty is free flowing. I'm concerned about your cooling unit leaking, it shouldn't do that. If it is then you have fresh air coming in and are not drawing through the bowl. Make sure all of your o-rings are present, seated properly, and the CU is assembled correctly.

Also, you say you get 3 "clouds" then it tapers off quickly. That brings the quality of your medicine in question. If you are vaping mids or something it might cause this.

FWIW if the problem doesn't resolve soon I would send it back to S&B for a new one.

I believe they are all seated correctly. I'll post a video to show the o rings placement.

The meds are about a month-1.5 months old. They are still moist, but not as moist as when i first got them.

That has nothing to do with the quality unless you left it in sunlight or a hot environment or something else that would kill it. I have quality meds that have been in storage jars since last year and they are still good. Dry medicine vapes better. If its wet and sticky you need to dry it out and that is an indicator of cutting early and not curing properly which will affect vapor propduction.

Sorry, they aren't moist. They just arent crumbling apart dry. they are what I would consider normal, but im only doing this a year.

Heres the video of my cooling unit:

It looks like the piece with the Crafty logo is unlocked although you probably did that to take the CU apart. Make sure to re-lock it when you reassemble. Also, have you taken the straw off and checked its o-ring? I didn't see that in the video. Everything else appears normal. It would help if you could determine exactly where the leak is.

Edit: You can do a simple leak test by covering the input to the cooling unit with your thumb and then sucking on the straw. It should be air tight. Also, we are assuming that the o-ring on your heater base is installed correctly and not damaged. Check that also.

t-dub, while you are in here...... how is that Mighty treating you?

Idk why I'm probably just being greedy, if my Crafty needs another repair I may just upgrade for the hell of it.

If it's only a 30$ upgrade fee, you are essentially getting double the battery capacity for 30$ extra. One battery like that probably costs 30$ alone.

You are also removing the necessity of using the app. The app is cool, I like it, it's always done what it's supposed to do. I'm not a "set it and forget it" type of Crafty user.

I keep the app on deck and shuffle through all the temp ranges, even if it costs a little battery.

There has been times however when I got screwed over because I left the unit on 410 and my phone died.

If you can get double the battery, and have all the controls in one electronic unit; it's more failsafe.

Here's the kicker though, stealth is super important to me. The Crafty is perfectly sized.

I have pretty big hands, so size isn't a gamechanger for me.

What's your thoughts? dub?

I ordered the fine screens recently from the U.S. Store without problem. I'll see if I can find the link I used.
