Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

KISS AC works great on my HVD top. It's not totally flush (maybe 1 or 2mm larger diameter than my omicron?), but it looks close enough, and works so great @7.4v. Can't get enough of these coils at 7.4v. Plus, the single and double coil are AWESOME in the Okeanos. Donut doesn't fit in the Okeanos, due to slightly different construction.

Kiss Alpha Centauris are sold out. All orders placed today by 5pm will be going out after that its sold out with maybe 1 or 2 left.

THC SCIENTIFIC,
Oh yeah -- the donut fits in the Okeanos. If yours, like mine, doesn't fit, remember to back your Okeanos out of the device it's in before installing, and also try compressing the center pin (bottom pin? Contact pin?) on the cart. Mine worked great after compressing the bottom, cleaning the threads (there was a stray burr at the start of the threads that was likely causing it not to thread), and making sure to screw the atomizer to the Okeanos base before installing the Okeanos base on a device.

Hi gang

I am looking to purchase the omicron and kiss cartridges

I am based in have uk but @THC SCIENTIFIC provided me a link to a European seller. The site is in French and doesn't work to well when I translate.

So going to ask the questions here in hope I purchase the right things

I want the latest version of the omicron, there is a v2.5 kit which consists of the following (translated)
http://lacentralevapeur.com/cigaret...starter-kit-omicron-v25-omicron-uptech.html#/

-1 Omicron
-2 Batteries 3.7 volts
-1 charger
-1 Fill tool for essential oils
-1 User manual
The omicron V2.5 or when spraying oil gets really USER FRIENDLY !

I assume this is the latest version?

Secondly in regard to the cartridges I assume these need to be replaced after X mount of use. I want this to be as cost effective as possible, so having a reliable distributed is obviously important. Do we have any uk sellers at a reasonable price?

I want to go with the healthiest cartridges which I believe to be the stainless steel kiss cartridges,
http://lacentralevapeur.com/omicron...micronomicron-lite-persei-omicron-uptech.html

Is this the right one? (Translated)
K.I.S.S. CARTRIDGES WHOLE RANGE OMICRON / UPTECH

REFERENCE cartridge vaporize oils and concentrates in all its variations to fit the entire range of vape pen premium of W9Tech - Omicron brand!

These are €20 each compared to $10 in the US, I can see this not being cost effective to uk user?
So is this what I would need to purchase multiple of?

(Translated)

CARTRIDGES Persei / OMICRON - OMICRON / UPTECH

Here is where all technology Omicron / Uptech : essential oils cartridges / Dab / BHO / Wax !
You will need a filling tool to fill , available here.

I could do with knowing what sort of maintenance replacement cycle of consumable parts are likely so I can understand better on what my progressive costs will be?

Thanks for reading

@Techmob , ok as for what you're showing & questioning: the Omicron V2.5 is not the latest. There's a new Revision. Check out W9TECH.COM for the description. I've got a V2.5 and LOVE it. It's strictly 3.7 volts. But includes the funnel for filling the Essential Oil cartridges. The KISS cartridges are LAYG( load as you go) the Essential Oil cartridges you can fill with up to .5 gram, personally my favorite, fill it & hit it till its empty. Or The Hercules to replace either or. The Hercules is a fully user serviceable Cartridge that uses a ceramic rod to heat. It's AWESOME and will save you $$ not having to keep buying cartridges. There is a learning curve with the Hercules. Hope this helps you.:rockon:

I just bought an Omicron v3 and the new Kiss AC setup. I also bought an extra 3.7v battery for the Omicron and a few extra coils. I'm new to Up Tech. I was thinking about buying one of the 1.5 ohm essential oil cartridges, but I'm honestly not sure if the Kiss AC blows that away or what. Any suggestions, tips, hints, tricks are appreciated.

@dRange44 , the Essential Oil carts work a little differently than the Kiss AC. You fill up to .5 grams in an E.O. cartridge, using a funnel included with older kits or you can purchase separately on W9, melt down in & then just medicate at will till empty, then add another .5 gram. They're intended to be 1 Gram use, then discard. But I've gotten2 grams out of them many a time. I mainly use these. I've got plenty of Kiss cartridges and Globes & use them too, but Love my EO carts! Whereas with the Globes & Kiss Carts & I assume the Kiss AC are all LAYG( load as you go) like dab style. I hope this helps you. And if you are going to try one, I would suggest that you try a 2.4 Ohm one first, as this will help you get used to how they work, before going to 1.5 Ohm, cuz you can easily burn your Oil or the cartridge if you're not experienced. I've got TONS of W9 UPTECH gear and will say you will never be disappointed, they sell quality products and stand behind them.

Thanks for the help.

Should I have any concerns about the Omicron and Kiss Alpha Centauri working together? I see now that the Kiss AC was actually designed for the Persei and the 8. I don't really care about the Kiss AC fitting flush, or that kinda stuff, mostly I just wanna know if the efficiency or quality will be effected?

Truth be told I probably would've bought a Persei had they been available in black or silver. Didn't want a teal, red, or purple one.

I see that my order hasn't been shipped yet, so if you guys recommend I make different selections, let me know if that's possible.

I got my Kiss AC in today, but unfortunately, somehow the Omicron I also ordered the same day and that was actually shipped a day before the Kiss AC still hasn't arrived. The Kiss AC looks well made and awesome. But it's annoying to have to sit here and look at it.

The USPS tracking site is also down, so thats fun.

dRange44,
So my :2c: on the AC and Omicron compatability has been slightly altered. I've been using an older HVD unit with no problems. I love using the dual coil with (2) 14250 batteries.

That said, I recently upgraded my v2 Omicron to the latest version, as the PWM used in the v2 was giving me issues with my newer Ti gear. I got the upgraded unit back the day I left for vacation, so I just got to try it out the past 2 days after returning. There must be a sub-ohm protection on the new HVD V2 top, because I can't get the AC to run on it in most circumstances. When testing on a meter, I saw one coil start a little over 1ohm but drop to 0.8 when warm, and the other coils were around 0.8 when tested cold, which is what leads me to believe maybe its the resistance that is the issue. Has anyone else tried the AC with the new HVD v2 tops? @THC SCIENTIFIC @SamuraiSam Is this the "limitation" referred to by the AC compatability list? It seems odd that my old HVD top runs the brand new KISS AC platform beautifully, but my brand new HVD top gives me blinky red LED when I try to use the AC (any atomizer) with it.

On a different note, I found little blue batteries (14250's) for about $4 each online. I held off on notifying FCers and reviewing for a few weeks while I used/abused them and recharged a number of times. Then I went on vacation for 2 weeks. There are a pair that I simply charged 6wks ago and left sitting that are at full capacity still. The others have been used a good deal, with no issues holding charge (though they only sat at full charge without use for 2 weeks). Not a dud in the bunch, but it was a small sample. UNFORTUNATELY, they appear to be sold out now when I'm finally writing about it. Oh well. The site is www.mtnelectronics.com, and was recommended to me from a few flashlight forums -- hopefully they restock soon!

@ragnorokk @THC SCIENTIFIC @SamuraiSam Hey, I'm new to Up Tech stuff, so if I say something stupid, pardon me.

Anyway, I also have the Omicron with the HVDv2 top as well as the Alpha Centauri. I know exactly the issue you are referring to with the Kiss AC and the Omicron. I actually sent off a couple emails to Sam just now regarding the issue.

I figured out that if I loosen the Kiss AC to the point where it's almost wobbly, I can get it to fire and produce vapor with all 3 coils. I actually just got the donut to work correctly for the first time and wow, that thing is cool.

Whenever I tighten the Kiss AC to the Omicron to the point where there is no wobble, I also get the flashing red light and no action. It doesn't matter which coil I use.

If i can figure out how to get this thing to work when it's tightened to the point that there's no wobble, I think I'm going to love it. Otherwise, it's just not very portable or fun to use at all.

Word. Loosening it until it is not secure is a "workaround," at best, not a solution. Glad to hear there's a hack of sorts, but I don't see why my current gen products don't work together. :/
@SamuraiSam @THC SCIENTIFIC Is the pogo pin then the issue?

Edit: on a fully charged 14650 I can run the single coil for a short period. If it slightly below full charge (still @4.2v, but not showing a green light yet in my charger) it gives me blinky red lights. So I guess maybe not a resistance issue.

if the tops dont have the self adjusting center pin then when screwing it in you cant screw it in all the way once you feel resistance you have to stop.

Two people with the same issue on the Omicron. I don't know if you've got experience with the issue we are dealing with or not, but hopefully a fix is coming. The problem makes it so that the Kiss AC and Omicron aren't really compatible at all unless you feel like being annoyed. Paired together, the setup feels clumsy, for lack of a better way to describe it.

I've gone back to using the standard cart that came with my Omicron.

dRange44,
does your top have the self adjusting center pin? and what coil are you using that it blinks at what voltage?
I assume "self adjusting center pin" is the proper terminology for the pin my top uses -- I've been calling it a pogo pin. I get blinking from all 3 coils when fully screwed in at either voltage. I tried the Core, in case the batteries were having trouble meeting the current needs, but still had the same issue. My top fires Ti KISS carts at both 3.7v and 7.4v when tightened in all the way, so I know it's functional, at least to some degree. Backing the KISS AC out a bit seems to let me fire all 3 coils @3.7v, but like dRange said the cart is loose and flopping around when not tightened all the way. Could something be shorting when tightened up all the way?

Edit: when I use the okeanos base instead of the AC base, I have a slightly higher likelihood of firing the AC coils, but still encounter issues. It seemed like I was onto something, as the Okeanos fired all 3 in a row @ 3.7v, but I started having blinky red failures the more I tested.

Edit again: oops, I'd displaced the Okeanos pin screwing in the KISS AC coils too far. After resetting the pin and only screwing the atomizers into the Okeanos base until they felt some resistance, I have perfect results @3.7v with all 3 included KISS AC heaters, with Okeanos base screwed flush with Omicron top.

One last edit: decompressed the insulators on my coils, because they looked a bit smooshed. Now they work on both bases with all parts very gingerly installed, and using a fresh 14650 battery. Won't do anything with 7.4v, but I've only tried fresh 14250's (which power the AC fine on my older HVD top labeled HVD34). Should Centauri mode be possible on this top (HVD V2)?

Anyone from Up Tech intend on responding to the issues cited above by myself & ragnorrok?

I've mentioned the issue here and also submitted a support ticket on the website and haven't gotten a direct response from anyone about the issue. Only was told that a coil that burnt out after three button presses is not a valid warranty claim. The Kiss AC being incompatible with the Omicron hasn't been addressed.

@dRange44 ; please PM me your ticket number. I tried to message you, but your account doesn't accept PM's. Are you coming into the ticket system to communicate, or responding to auto-generated emails? I followed up on every open support ticket this morning and am not sure which one is yours! I want to help you out, so hit me up :)

Mtnelectronics says they will have more 14250 batteries in a week, maybe two.

@dRange44 if you were responding to the emails, they won't get that. You have to reply in their ticket system, even though it emails their response. It's a little confusing the first time, for sure... And 1/2 the time thereafter. Old habits die hard.

@SamuraiSam @THC SCIENTIFIC one of you should have the old logo and one the new logo, so we can still tell you apart by avatar :)

Hey all, noobish questions here.

  1. I got my omicron earlier this year and with it I also ordered a KISS cart and globe. Both have worked quite well after some trial and error, but I've had a desire for a more substantial cart that I can take with me on trips and not have to load, so I tried playing around with the stock essential oil cartridge. I ended up loading too much in it and the draw is sputtery and a pain in the ass to get going. What's recommended for rectifying this situation, can I submerge the cart in ISO to dissolve the oil (and then evaporate/purge the solution to reclaim) or will that damage the cart?

  2. I'm not feeling a need to explore VV or any other features/enhancements and am currently very happy with my vanilla Omicron; rather, I don't feel any need for more given how well it medicates via the KISS cart. That said, I'm courting the idea of making a hash oil and ejuice mix so that I can vape at shows and mask the smell somewhat. I picked up the Kanger Protank2 from W9's site, I also snagged a 610-to-510 converter just in case I want to try a different tank. I've been reading through this thread and trying a few searches but I'm still confused....
    1. I have access to Alpine Liquid Gold, my thought is to mix this with puffmajic or ejmix and that seems to work quite well, based off posts on this page of the Persei thread. Is that really all that is needed to make a good THC ejuice?
    2. Are there any usage caveats to be aware of? Reading past posts and accounts suggests that the Omicron is sufficiently powerful for the tank but what of off-odors and taste? My head is swimming from all the information here, I know there are better setups but are there any show-stopping negatives that you guys feel are important to know about?

I think that's it for now :)

@zor , the E.O. carts work awesome for me. They're my go to. You can only add1/2 gram max!! My reccomendations are to start with the 2.4 Ohm E.O. cart, fill no more than .5 , Get used to button presses & technique down before going to a hoter cart.(5.0,1.5) Cuz if you're not sure what you're doing, you can easily BURN your Oil or cart., cause it to overheat & leak like a Mother, & clog up like a Bitch. Clogging can happen with all the carts due to improper technique & no cool down hits being performed, & can be remedied by using a paper clip or other appropriate length & width object to gently poke into air holes on both ends. These are pretty much the only option besides the HERCULES for not having to L.A.Y.G.

Hope this is helpful to you. Peace:rockon:
