Thanks Ed for the wonderful whip set up for my Solo. It gives me another way to enjoy everybody's fav portable. It makes it easy to read a book and easily take a draw. I've been trying it out all evening. I'm going to need to go to bed. I took this pic.

This is the blood wood and an herbalizer whip. It works better than I even expected, just awesome. I can use it too without the whip as a mouthpiece.
    Thank you so much.
  2. Edit - This would made it easy for someone to medicate if they were confined to bed or too sick to get out of bed. The Solo can be laid on its side using this method.

@CarolKing Wow thanks for all the kind words, it was a pleasure to do that for you and I thank you for your patience most of all during my delays with all I had! Oh don't forget as well that the mouthpiece is 14mm as well so can easily be used with a water tool! Again I am really happy you have enjoyed it as much as you have already. You made some really great points, we spoke about the tubing quite a bit and I felt the herbalizer tubing would be your best route being thinner and not nearly as heavy as most other tubing, you noticed my first attempt at this option how the tubing I used was much too large, the solo had no way of standing on its own and would fall over, the herbie tubing worked perfectly. I appreciate you as I have always and thank you for giving me the opportunity to do what I love and enjoy so much!

Has anyone ever hooked their Solo up to a timer for charging, so you could charge while sleeping and not worry about overcharging?

I use a really old electric kitchen timer. It usually takes two times to get it to level 7, since it only can only be set for an hour max. I have never charged to the top this way. I have two Solos, while one is in use the other is charging.

I'm very angry at the GonG situation at the moment!
we need a unverisal Water Adapter!
Canabis is having a hard time being accepted world wide!
let's not make it harder?

Ironically GonG adapters are an attempt to do just that, standardize the connection so you could interchange other gear. Good idea in general even if there was an oversight in making them of glass in your case.......

I like it when Vape makers design this into their products. Like the plastic caps on the Air stems, the Herbal Aire top cap (which fits both size connectors IIRC?), the Cera MP and so on. Vapman does this as well, but it's unclear if it's by intent or fortunate happenstance. We should be 'demanding' this as a feature IMO, so makers will know to 'move things that way'? I suspect they often don't consider customers may want to make with a WT.

Lucky for us we have Ed as well.........

My problem is l'am picky about flavor when it comes to wood.
would you drink 18 year old scotch from a syrrofoam cup?
the GonG's are all different sizes?
the adapters are all different?

A pack of papers makes more sense!

I think the ideal is to make a universal water adaptor.

Cell phones are a perfect example of marketing bs!

Further more your a professor who could create something?

Actually I've done exactly that. I would have preferred crystal, of course, but know that inert plastics don't change the taste so I 'went with it', the alternative being swigging out of the bottle........ Still plenty fine.

Wood stems, in many cases, are different for sure. If you'll just give up on the glass breaking fetish (or at least cut back some) wood might not be necessary. We should be able to find a suitable material......Teflon?

Yeah, two sizes at least (as I understand 10mm is rare enough to ignore?). Unfortunate, but way fewer options than we get into with batteries. Or bottles of Scotch for that matter?

The wood just gives you a little different of an experience. The wood will season over time and will take on the taste of the cannabis that you are using. In the beginning the wood has an earthy taste mingled in with the taste of the cannabis vapor, I love that taste.

I had seen @Snappo with a picture of his nano with a whip that @Ed's TnT had made. That's what gave me the idea. I talked with Ed and he gave it some thought. We talked it over and decided on the Herbalizer whip. The Herbie whip was around $19 I think. It's very flexible and light weight so it's perfect for the task.

It makes the Solo like a new vaporizer, it's really awesome. I get 2 vaporizers in one, 2 bangs for the buck.:spliff:

EDIT
I also have no restricted draw.

Hi....haven't been in here for a while, does anyone tried the Arizer Air 70mm glass stem (no tip) in the solo?I see they make them with tips or just straight glass now!

Howdy.

Yes, no doubt lots of us have, the work just fine (a bit hotter/harsher perhaps than their longer cousins). They've been around since before Christmas?

Perhaps my favorite Air stem, a sometimes thing in Solo.

Got new plastic tip stems, do not fit in my bong how I hoped however with a rubber seal they are the most airtight thing I have tried. Any idea if the plastic can come off? I can see enough vapor build that I'm happy! Now for the hammer to get here and see if it will milk more.

Yes, they unscrew. They're basically a screw cap made from different plastic with a rubber gasket. Don't force it, of course (it's only glass....). Wrap a rubber band around the glass to improve your grip if necessary, try it hot.

They look like this (this was a gasket replacement experiment, the rubber parts aren't what you'll find:

Cheers, yesterday was a bit of a preplanned vape/smokeathon. Which soon turned into a straight up vapedown when the stems arrived, long story short and lord knows how much green later, quick soak in alcohol and it unscrewed a treat:) sunday is another big all day sesh, with more people, will report on findings. This is coming From long time solo lover who is now finally starting to enjoy it with water

@CarolKing ,glad to hear you`re enjoying your Solo with the whip...looks like Ed did a great job!
I use mine with my 18" whip exclusively...although I`m finally getting my D020 tomorrow (sitting at the PO waiting for me).
So I`ll be able to compare the wet and dry experience very soon, but I find the whip is just great...really improves the draw, the flavour is great and it`s really easy to park on the couch for a movie and enjoy the Solo!...

i love my wooden solo stem as it is, but a wooden stem in whip form would just be unbelievable. are these for sale anywhere or was this just a one-off from Ed?

@CarolKing and others,

How potent is the reclaim from a bent stem? If it's pretty caked with reclaim and I let the whole thing sit in a cup of hot chocolate, then how vaked will I get? I'm worried I might get uncomfortably high if I submerge the whole stem.

That's a definite possibility. Since the THC level doesn't drop off fairly quickly like with smoking (heaven forbid....) or vaping anxiety can become part of it too.

Until you learn more, I suggest a fraction of it. You should 'come on' inside an hour at say 90 minutes you can 'top up' if the results aren't there? The material itself can be quite potent.

Remember to use real milk (not skim/low fat), you need the fat, in fact a shot of cream is good insurance. Unless the THC binds to the fat first it's very hard to digest (read 'bad results').

Enjoy.
