I had the same thing posted aero lol...but i thought it might be an asshole comment

If you smell the heatport opening it smells "funny" i guess. is this what you are referring to? I can never smell it unless i try to smell it.

ha ha! It's Lando! "Here goes nothing!"

I ordered my MZ today. It's a Christmas present to myself and the hubby. I've been using the MFLB for almost a year now and it kicks ass. I wanted to try something different. It looks pretty and will hopefully fulfill it's duty as it should. I'll give it a review, but the only thing I have to compare it to is the LB and the VG. I'm sure this will be a different experience entirely. Looking forward to seeing the creation.

I think you will be able to fully taste your herbs with the MZ moreso than with your LB or VG.

I tend to notice I am always on the verge of combustion with the LB/VG. Never the case with my Zap.

is it like a "wood-sy" smell? I know when I got mine at first the wood smell was hard to get used to.

maybe you dropped some budzz down the heatport? I always tilt mine back a little so nothing fallson the heat port. prob one of the two

love my zapper

Finally got my zap, works wonderfully! My favorite part about my zap is that it splits colors from bright myrtle to dark slightly by the middle. No pics though. :(

Thanks Rick!

Ricks a good dude. Told me to send him my MZ and he'll take a look at it, even though i bought it used. He truly does stand behind his product.

Yes. Got my Cherry Zap sent from NY today. I have 2 Zaps, 1 in NY & 1 in LA. I ussually keep the Myrtle here But haven't had a lot of bonding time with my Cherry. I really like the even way it's burning my bud. It's for lack of a better term running at the 'perfect temperature' right now. My avb is light-medium brown. I like that. My myrtle was leaving it medium-dark brown and i was finding the burn a tad uneven throughout the pinch -Which I don't mind but can irritate the throat and leave the herb a little too charred For my taste. What I was doing at the end was unplugging the MZ when i was taking my 1st draws and then plug it back in with the 2nd and consecutive hits. I'm using a 12v plug.

So to NY the MZ goes and now I'm enjoying the Cherry Zap quite a bit. I'm really hoping it doesn't 'Burn' in too much more because I think we've really nailed the perfect temp for me on this one. Rick if your reading. Do you recommend maybe leaving it unplugged for more of the time if i like the temp how it is now? I did in fact pretty much leave my MZ on 24/7. Kinda what i prefer since I'm a bit random. Or do you think the wood is the difference?

Will post a nice Vape cloud video of the Cherry real soon. It's great. Lung expanding large hits that you can expect from the zaps. God I love these things. Walnut next. ;)

I get into trouble with Rick if I sing his praises too much. But, in the spirit of some of the last posts, I'm going to chime in and say that IMO, Rick is one of the most down to earth, honest, and good people out there. The same can be said for the Zaplady. I'm not at all surprised that he's doing this for you Smoking.

fylgja, I've got to believe that you will love your Christmas present!

Cutty, I can feel the love from here! Enjoying my walnut Zap right now.

Hey, I've been using my zap for about 4 months now and I just learned about internal charring. I have just recently read about it in another thread on FC (http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=3672). I just have some questions for everyone that hopefully some of you could answer. How fast does charing take place? How harmful is it to your health (I've heard it is carcinogenic)? How can I prevent charring on my zap?

Have you ever enjoyed the warm glow of a fireplace? Well you problably ingested more charred wood then you ever will with a log vape. Enjoy. :)

Do you have any kind of evidence or reason you could present to me on why this would be true? I'm not trying to sound like a dick in any way but asking this will just help me sleep better at night. This has been on my mind a lot lately. Thanks.

Was curious about the discussion of charring and found the following information on it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrolysis

I would imagine each piece of wood reacts a bit differently to continuous exposure to heat. Pine is going to char fairly quickly because it has so much tar and a weak cell structure. Sugar maple on the other hand should take much longer to char if at all. Woods used for smoking meat should be safe. Some aromatic woods should probably be avoided.

Does the application of bee's wax extend the time it takes to char the wood? It sure soaks into the wood around the heat exchanger.

It there a particular type of wood that has not experienced loosening of the heat exchanger?
