Underdog Log Vapes

I've had some strains where the clouds are endless and others that only seem to create wisps. But they both did their job it aeemed. Strain definitely impacts vapor production though and is worth trying. I've noticed some strains take a lot longer to fully roast/extract, they just never seem to go dark brown regardless of temp or how many hits even after vapor is no longer producing.

Long story short, there are no absolutes when dealing with plant matter.

TBH, I don't care about the amount of vapor production. I just care about how toasted I get. I think thats my main cause for concerns, is that its taking me a good amount of herb to get nice and toasted, whereas in my previous vape experience, miniscule amounts have gotten me nice and baked.

Soooooo.. How do you like it?

Update: The silicone 14/18mm adapter works fine; it's a bit grippier than I'd like on NonG but there isn't much @Ratchett can do about that. It works quite well when connecting two glass bits with a small chance that it catches when removing the stem from the 18mm port it's installed in.

It's simple and works fine. I think it's less likely to get frozen in place by resin because it can be flexed, so if joints freezing from resin is a concern then this might be a solution for that.

I've been really loving my new Chinese Pistache mini dog. I honestly think it runs hotter than my full size buckeye.

Just thought I'd share some pictures of the dpg (dogg pound gang)

The walnut mini is just a cousin not always around but still rides like blood.

For size comparison I used two 12oz cans and a classic jyarz in the middle.

I thought you said no to log's a few month's back when i referred them.

I like the lil gruesome better myself and good luck parking and finding the place, You may have better luck going to a Weis that sells beer they normally carry it.

I dont remember saying no to a log.. My memory isnt perfect either though. But i have never even read up on them until the last few days so if i did say no i had nothing to base it on except maybe finances... I know i wasnt looking for any new vapes a few months back?? The wood lead me here hehe

Weis sells beer where you are in PA? No supermarket, gas station, or similar sells beer here in Philly. And Beer stores dont sell liquor either or vice versa. 2 separate stores. When i was in the Army in Texas they did there iirc, and in Florida as well. I could pick up my fishing supplies and a 6 pack of beer all from walmart on the way to the river. That was nice.

I dont worry about the parking much personally... Since my injury overseas im not allowed to drive a vehicle any longer... So the wife just pulls up, lets me out, and drives around the block while i shop. But she did make a comment that she would have had to park several blocks away if she wanted to come in too. Im in Philadelphia though (parking sucks here too) and i could only find one place that carried the big gruesome... And they only carry it a couple times a year from what the guy said so i made the trip a couple times. Wish i knew other places like Weis had it.

That sounds awful. The gas station around the corner has easily 40 different beers. I can't imagine having to go to a specific store just for beer let alone having to go to a whole different store for scotch.

Maybe it was someone else not %100 either way you can't go wrong with the log's, You gotta try the nylon stem's with this one. I also really like my 18650 powered Voltage keeper for my Dog

I usually go to Lancaster when in Pa. A few of them in that county do. I think a Sheets in Columbia did for a short while too, Yeah it's weird not having a Total wine or Wallmart Beer and Wine in Pa. The other great thing is you can't have Alcohol shipped to Pa either other than to a Wine and spirits store.

I've been a long time lurker and own a pack of dogs but after receiving my latest set I couldn't resist making an account. They're way too pretty and I felt that the rest of the world needs to see them. I present to you my buckeye burl standard core dog and matching mini pup. @underdog was able to turn both of these out of one beautiful blank. I can't thank @underdogette enough for all of her help in ordering these beauties, the experience was painless and the final price tag was way lower than expected. Thank you guys!

@KidFated, thanks. I think "damn" was the only thing I could say when they first showed up. I was speechless. They're amazing.

@NickDlow, I couldn't hide them. Thats why they're here. I already own a birthday vape from 2014, a custom walnut standard core dog, and a bullet shaped black walnut mini(i personally think it's the smallest one ever created but I'll get a pic up soon and we can see if anyone refutes me). The mini was almost enough to push me into making an account, but once I got my buckeyes there was no question. I'm stoked to finally be a real part of this community.

To anyone sitting on the fence about an Underdog: pull the trigger! I promise you won't regret it. I've loved my dogs since day one with my birthday vape, and my pack has only grown like crazy since. I have two vvps' to accompany them, one being an @VoltageKeeper battery powered VK. These pups love to travel! One dog is more than enough to handle my needs but they're just so pretty, I want them all. I've owned various portables and desktops including the Volcano and the Vapexhale Cloud Evo and I've got to be honest, I sold everything else within a month of getting my first dog because nothing else compares! THESE ARE THE BEST VAPES IN THE WORLD!!! Thanks again to @underdog and @underdogette for being the greatest small business owners I've ever had the pleasure to do business with.

Someone mentioned battery packs. Please point me to the info on that. I've been reading forward and back but must not be going forward or back far enough.
My dogs are the best stealthy vapes I have. Not many people in my life medicate. When they ask what the dog is I point out the metal cap that sits on them for essential oil. It's great that the dogs work so well for both.

I know there is one floating around that people are getting from Amazon that looks great. I don't have experience with it but it looks solid. If you aren't on a super tight budget though, I'd suggest sending @VoltageKeeper a PM. His products are amazing and will only help nurture your inner herb nerd.

I believe this is the one you're looking for

They're variable voltage in increments of .5 volts from 5 volts to 13 volts. Just about perfect for the underdog.

The battery voltage keeper would be a good option for finer tuning on the go.

Does the Multi-turn from voltage keeper work well for the Underdog?

When i get it, id like to leave my unit on 24/7 mostly. And would like to just turn it down when its not going to be used for a while. I like higher temps sometimes as well... But dont often go through water if that matters at all..

Multi-turn good choice for these preferences? Or Does he make another one i should consider?

Honestly most the time i go for the cheapest options when it comes to accessories, but due to the generosity of this community, id really prefer to support another forum member. And the over-all cost of my package once complete, even if i got one of the VK power supplies is still a blessing.

So i think after a few days of trying to figure this thing out i'm going to give up and move on.

My D020-D showed up from china yesterday and my unit barely milks well in it. I've developed a pretty good sense of the amount to pack in the stem, but I also don't see how its possible to get a good hit with glass with such a tiny amount packed in the stem. I think I made the mistake of not taking into account the size of this thing. You really need to put a tiny amount into the stem, overpack and the heating element puts pressure on your material and it balls up and strangles your hit. The difference in material between these two states is very small.

I will gladly entertain any advice or suggestions on how I can improve my experience. How many people out there are have the econo-dog? do you find it provides satisfying hits?

@BrotherJoseph Beautiful pups!!!:o

Here is a prototype adapter for 14mm male joints. It was designed for use with UD SS tips. I've run a couple bowls through it and it works great! Can't support the weight of a Dog (maaaaybe a mini) but I never let my Dogs rest on the adapters anyway. Good seal and easy to remove with a twist!

Thanks to @Ratchett for making it come to life!!

I have a feeling it'll work with a few different applications! I'll be trying some other things out with it as I have time.

That's @Madcap79 for donating the SS tips to the cause!

Indeed as you mention, I have a feeling these adapters will work for other purposes (I have tested with my Davinci Ascent and it works great!).

I'll be working on getting these listed on my store over the next few days, I'll share a link when they're available for purchase.

I get big tips off of tiny nylon stems.. I don't even push my screen in until the notch.. My typical load size is half of a nylon stem.. It milks my honeycomb bubbler.

Suck through the stem to load it, brush off the excess, and vape.

I'm rather stumped by the fact that some of your descriptions have sounded like your unit is running cool, and others too hot. You mention weak hits one day, then combustion the next.

Not to mention if your unit is running hot enough to combust material, milking a bubbler should be no problem.

Strange thought, but are you always using the unit in the same room, same outlet? Are do you move it around and plug it in in different places?

Is it possible the the wiring in your home is a bit wonky? Have you ever used a multimeter to check your outlets voltage?

So some of the descriptions may have sounded like the unit is running cool, but i've also made it clear that from what I can tell, the unit is not running cool. I am pretty sure that's not a possibility. I meantion weak hits everyday, just to be clear. The one consistent thing is that the hits are not satisfying. Combustion is not the goal here, it is undesireable in this case.

This is why I am so baffled by this unit. From what I can tell, it is not running cool, it actually gets very hot when I have it plugged in for over an hour. Initially, i assumed i needed to dry my bud out, but that did not have any noticeable difference.I have tried 3 different strains with this unit.

I figured I would just use the unit with my glass and not straight draw from it. The real frustration came when my glass arrived. The unit barely milks. After taking a zillion hits, it just seems to me that the loading of the stem and the actual size of the stem are the problem areas. First, to load the stem you need to put in a very small amount, if you put in too much, when inserting the stem into the heating unit, the heating unit condenses your bud into a small ball and it strangles your hit. If you do load the proper amount, in my opinion, it is not a sufficient amount to get a nice milky glass hit. For me at this point its very hit or miss.

Have only used the unit on one outlet.
